After days of arduous research and powerpoint presentation/comparison tables of which restaurant to choose from, the bridal party chose Copeland's brunch because it offers the best bang for your buck! (Feel free to DM me for this powerpoint cuz it exists! ) Here's why: $14.99 per person unlimited buffet $1.99 mimosas Private event space Did I mention unlimited desserts too? The atmosphere: Beautiful restaurant. It makes you feel like you really teleported to New Orleans. The place was crowded as soon as they opened at 10 am but we booked the private room in advance. The buffet was nicely set up in one area and there are different seating options including booths, the bar, tables etc. The booths offer a more intimate setting but there is a more open area with lots of sunlight too. The ambiance is relaxed and classy so you can be as casual or as dressy as you want to be. I brought my own speaker system and microphone to use in the private room. So, as a tip: you can listen to whatever music you want to in your own private room, they will just lower the volume of the music that's playing in the restaurant. The food: Spectacular! How does Copeland's have an undeserved average rating?! I'm beyond satisfied with the taste and plethora of food options. Some highlights: The grits were soft, thick, cheesy and perfectly salted. Their chicken tenders were exactly that: TENDER and juicy with sweet and spicy sauce. Biscuits were so good! I was 100% satisfied with everything in the buffet. For $14.99, nothing beats their Saturday spread. I can spend an hour describing each food item but there's just so many!!! My favorite part was the nice little set up in the back of the restaurant where you can get customized chicken and waffles fresh off the waffle maker! They've won my heart with that one! Mimosas: Perfect. Perfect. Perfect. For $1.99 that's pretty much like Bottomless Mimosas. The service: Everyone is so friendly here! There's different stations where they serve food and each individual had such a warm and welcoming smile! This is an amazing staff they have here! I gave 5 stars primarily because of how Ms. Tonya and the rest of the team delivered excellent customer service. I go to a lot of events with up to 15-20 people at a time. Often times, there are some confusions with orders or requests etc. Not here! Service was flawless. Ms. Tonya not only helped with table set up and decorations but she served everyone with a smile. Very graceful and polite, I felt like I was at a fancy wedding reception instead of a casual restaurant! She was very attentive, I didn't have to venture off when I needed her. She was readily available at my every whim. She treated us so well! I will look for her for future events! :) My overall opinion is that my experience at Copeland's is very memorable. Visiting friends and they highly recommended Copeland's for Sunday Brunch. As a party of 6 we expected a wait, shockingly we had to wait only about 15-20 minutes to be seated. We opted for the buffet which consisted of: hot egg station for omelettes, cheese grits (which were spectacular), eggs, crawfish & shrimp, fried catfish, red beans and rice, salad (caesar and garden) to name the highlights. Also featured a chocolate fountain with fruits and marshmallows, bread pudding, and other small desserts. We had lunch at Copeland's today. We were greeted in a very friendly manner by the hostess and immediately seated. The atmosphere is very unique and very interesting. Our waitress was very attentive and immediately greeted us and took our drink orders. We placed our food orders and a lady who was a manager / server trainer immediately came out to apologize that my husband's entree didn't come with a side and that our server was only working her second day. This lady explained that she had 3 servers in training today and apologized that she couldn't be with all 3 the entire time. We completely understood and appreciated the explanation. We had noticed the restaurant was jammed and this lady was running around non-stop. Our food arrived in a short amount of time and both the server and her trainer were frequently checking on us. The entrees were excellent and the pumpkin bread pudding we had for dessert was enough to be split by 4 people. Everything was excellent and we had enough left over to have dinner. It's the only restaurant of its kind in Jax and definitely worth a try. It's like a mini visit to NOLA. read more

My husband and I had dinner this evening and ordered the Copeland burger. The burger was very good however the service was horrible. Mark was the server. I asked for a cup of hot water with lemons. It was brought over. But, he wasted the hot water and didn't bother to clean it up just leaving water all over the table. He never came over to ask us how our food was. At the end of the evening, he stood over us as we paid. It was very uncomfortable as my husband and I wanted to discuss the service and tip. We did provide a tip even though it was unwarranted. When my husband tried to provide some constructive feedback. However, it was meet with resistance. When we share our experience with the manager, he acted as if the server behavior was acceptable. My family and I visited Copeland's for the Saturday brunch this past weekend. The food was not warm, and I had to have the gentleman at the omelet station redo my omelet because it was scorched, when he did redo the omelet, the new one was not cooked on the inside and runny. I have visited Copelands at least 10 times in the past and never had such a poor experience. I did speak with the manager and was not even offered a discount on our check. It has great presence, classy interior decor, and a great environment which would be suitable for birthday parties and an anniversary celebration. I worked with Stephanie to host a graduation party on 12/18/2021. Everything was coordinated in a timely manner and just as ordered. I chose the Zulu buffet option. From the moment we entered to the time we left, 5 stars for sure! The atmosphere is beautiful. It's a casual restaurant but it's so beautifully decorated that I almost felt under dressed. We tried the spinach artichoke dip with breaded and fried bow tie pasta (during happy hour it's only $5) and it was delicious. The chargrilled oysters were equally delicious as well. We ordered the chicken dinner and shared it. And let me say, probably one of the most flavorful fried chicken dinners I've ever had. Even the breast was so amazingly juicy and delicious. The biscuits that come with the dinner....wow! You know they are made from scratch. And I'm not really a fan of biscuits but I ate every bit of mine with the incredible honey butter it comes with. Our server, Dexter was the absolute best! We never had to ask for refills, he always made sure our glasses were full. He was very attentive and kind. Okay so to begin I used to LOVE this place. We would go a lot when I was younger and I was always stoked about it. But unfortunately it seems it might be in need of some updating. The food was....alright. Not horrible but definitely not as good as my memories of it. Very heavy and oily pasta which came with a biscuit. I'm from the south so I'm always down for a good biscuit but with pasta? Nah. The service was super lackluster and left quite a bit to be desired. My friend had ordered a hurricane and it just wasn't good. It is what it is sometimes. After taking a few sips she just couldn't drink it and asked if she could return it and just get a soda. Instead of just being cool about the manager came out was like "have you ever had one before? You just don't know what they taste like" ummm no. She orders those all the time and I tried a sip it was definitely off. So they wouldn't take it off her order even though she literally made no dent in it. I've worked in the food industry for a good part of my adult life and this is just not how you handle an upset customer. Besides that the decor is very dated with rugs peeling and the bathroom was pretty dirty. All in all I don't like leaving negative reviews but it was just such a bummer of an experience for kind of a pricey meal. My family and I ordered food from Copelands Today. When I tasted the bread pudding it was terrible. The chef had put salt in the bread pudding instead of sugar. When it was brought to the waitress Sarah's attention she said she would get the manager. At that time I told her to take it off the bill. The manager finally comes over after waiting, my husband and I were telling him we didn't want a coupon for next time, we wanted it off the bill. The manager on duty, told my husband to be quiet and he was just talking to me. We told him that was rude and my husband has a right to speak because he is paying and he is my husband. The manager informed us that he was trained to shut customers up and only talk to one person at the table. This situation could have been handled by the waitress. And the manager could have listened to us, the customer and corrected the situation. So we were charged again for the whole meal, just to take off the bread pudding. So we were charged twice when it could have been handled differently to please the me the customer. I am very disappointed in the customer service by the manager and waitress. Also, the chef came from the back and added to the confusion, which I let him know how horrible tasting the bread pudding was. The chef tells me they don't put sugar in the bread pudding because of diabetics. If I could give less than 0 stars I would. read more

I was ready to be disappointed. I came at 9 and they close at 10. We all know the quality of food and service usually goes down closer to closing. I was wrong... I ordered gumbo, red beans and rice, honey butter biscuits, shrimp and crab cake Alfredo as well as a sausage and pepper bow tie pasta. It was my first time so don't judge me on being a cow. A coworker and I decided to try this spot out at the recommendation of an ex-coworker...and I have to say that it was pretty good. We went on Saturday at 12:30pm...turns out they have an AYCE brunch buffet until 2pm. The place was PACKED!! About a 20-minute wait is what we were told. However, there's a bar inside the restaurant and you can sit there and still enjoy all the accoutrements of the brunch buffet. So my coworker and I claimed our seats, then grabbed our plates...now, if you take advantage of this brunch, you'll want to come hungry...*NOT PICTURED* I started out with their cheesy grits (very good), sausage links (just ok) and bacon (some pieces overcooked, some were undercooked)...I also grabbed some home style potatoes (good) and then a couple of pieces of their catfish. Let me just say, the catfish was the star of the show IMO...tender, flaky and crispy, not soggy...seasoned to perfection too I might add...They also had a waffle/French toast area, as well as a "build your own omelette" station...all for just $20!! That's an incredible deal! Needless to say I went back for seconds...that's what's pictured here...the red beans and rice were good...again the catfish was sooo good, & the herbed chicken was solid...the ONLY item that wasn't great was the biscuit & sausage gravy...bland and didn't taste much like sausage at all. I will say that if you're interested in coming to Copeland's and you enjoy brunching, you'll probably want to visit on Sunday because they have carving stations for those dining...Sunday brunch is also a couple of bucks more because of that. This is a very nice establishment! Very swanky in its own right. The atmosphere here is beyond any expectations. When one thinks buffet, in the mind it's like long lines and glass that doesn't actually protect the bland food. Long waits for a scramble and the inevitable dessert area where everything tastes the same and the dreaded frozen yogurt/ice milk machine. This is nothing like that. The customer service here is amazing. All the food is hot and fresh and not brought out in huge quantities. There's never a film on anything, you don't feel like you've got to stir anything before you serve yourself up. And the food is not stacked up all together so you get a chance to move around a bit. Fresh waffles are made the entire time and beignets just screaming to be powdered with sugar. You can see all the cooks in the kitchen behind the glass, so you know it's not just powdered this or that or frozen food being reheated. Actual people making real food. There's and omelette station and a ham and prime rib carving station on the far side of the restaurant. Across from that there's a dessert table with a chocolate fountain and two or three other desserts. There are beads for the kids and again the atmosphere is just so inviting. I came here with family. A table for 14. Even the kids had a great time. It seemed more like stopping over your grandma house for Sunday brunch than paying at a restaurant. We love Copelands! When you walk in the ambiance is classic New Orleans. My fiancé just loves the Steak Labouchere & red beans & rice. I am hooked on their Eggplant Pirogue. About 2 weeks ago we went just for the cheesecake. I had the bananas foster & my fiancé had the raspberry one. Copelands is an almost guaranteed good time. I have only had 1 "eh" visit there as my food was so salty it hurt my tongue. The manager immediately made it right so I can't really say anything bad, mistakes happen. read more
