Crab stuffed catfish over shrimp rice
    Ssw W.

We started with the chargrilled oysters, and they were absolutely delicious, perfectly grilled with just the right amount of seasoning. They were so good, I completely forgot to take a picture! For my entrée, I had the crab-stuffed catfish with creamed spinach and a side of red beans and rice. The catfish was baked to perfection, light, flaky, and seasoned with the authentic flavors New Orleans is known for. The creamed spinach was rich and flavorful, and the red beans and rice were so good they didn't even make it into the picture for obvious reasons! My guy ordered the fried seafood platter, and every piece of seafood was cooked perfectly. Nothing was overcooked. The batter was light, crispy, and fluffy, letting the fresh seafood shine. The corn fritters were so amazing that we had to order an extra side! From the appetizers to the entrées, everything was fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. The food, service, and overall experience were outstanding. If you're looking for authentic New Orleans flavors and exceptional seafood, this place is definitely worth the visit. We'll absolutely be back!

Let me start by saying, these may be the best chargrilled oysters in the city! They were a nice size, Parmesan cheese crust, and garlic butter that I literally drank out of the shell! Dont hesitate, order them. I was not a fan of the artichoke crawfish bread, it needed more cheese and to be hotter in my opinion but the salmon was delicious. It was cooked perfectly and had these delectable crispy edges!

If you are looking for a Cajun flare in your dining experience then this needs to be your next stop! From the tender alligator bites to the blackened redfish this meal did not disappoint. We had a fantastic waitstaff who made this experience worth it.

We had a last-minute urge to go out and get dinner. We went to Copelands with an open mind. We thoroughly enjoyed their oysters, Rockefeller and grilled oysters. We shared a half rack of ribs with the mashed sweet potato and coleslaw sides. The biscuits will like comfort food. We also sampled the chicken and waffles. Everything taste great. The ambience was casual with loud environment, but it was enjoyable. We also visited by musician who played guitar at our table. We sampled some of their alcoholic drinks, which were all tasty. All in all, it was quite an entertaining Friday night with great company and food. I will see if I was very attentive and explain the menu when we had questions. The food came out in shorted order. We appreciated the free parking lot parking outside the restaurant. This would be a good choice for a casual night out/date night/catching up with friends.

Good spot for weekend Brunch Sat/Sun. In with party of 4 in Sunday and went in for 10 am when they open. Lots of open parking with regular table seating as well as bar and covered w closed patio seating. Promptly seared and Josh server was quick to greet us and take drink orders. As was our first visit he explained the various serving stations and where to go. Good opening crowd but it definitely got more crowded by 11-1130. The waffles were freshly made hot and tasty, meat carving station with brisket, ham and Roast was good. Mac and cheese, Caesar salad were all good. Two types of bread pudding for dessert. Overall pretty good brunch buffet and would return.

My coworker and I are visiting from Phoenix to support training the new Jacksonville location, and everyone at work raved about the weekend brunch at Copeland's. We arrived to a busy parking lot on a Sunday at 1pm, so we had hopes that it was a great place if drawing that kind of crowd. We didn't make a reservation, but we were quickly seated in less than 10 minutes. Kaitlyn and Kiara greeted us and ensured our drinks stayed replenished. Both were very friendly and personable to advise where to get both savory and more sweet selections on the other side of the restaurant. Personally, it was a bit loud which I didn't enjoy. Large crowds are seated near you, so it can be hard to talk to who you are with. Though overall the food was pretty tasty. I highly recommend their biscuits. I'll admit that I longed for more seafood and likely wouldn't return for brunch, but rather their full dinner menu. Overall, I definitely think it's worth checking out whether you are visiting or a local.

We enjoyed Cajun deliciousness including solid gumbo, indulgence hot crab claws and dense and yummy biscuits. The service here is consistently attentive, I like to sit in the bar area. The ambiance feels like an elevated bistro tucked off of the French quarter. This restaurant has been great for decades, wow!

I drive past this restaurant all the time and I've always wanted to stop in, but just never found myself doing so until today. I met up with some coworkers after work and we were grabbing lunch and some drinks. I arrived first and was seated right away in a booth near the bar. My waitress, Tiana, was fantastic, she came up right away and grabbed my drink order. I ordered the sangria which was a bit too sweet for me but it was huge and definitely had a solid alcohol pour. After the sangria I switched it up for the Bloody Mary which was just my speed, I loved it! For food, I ordered a starter of the Bayou broccoli which is very tasty. It was actually very unique to anything that I've had and I'm really glad that I tried it. For my meal I ordered the shrimp and Tasso pasta. The pasta had a lot of flavor. It was maybe a touch too salty for me, but I think that was due to the pork in the dish overall, though I would probably order it again. Every dish came with a buttered biscuit, which was also delicious. I am so glad I finally made it to Copeland's. I had such a great experience which was absolutely made by the amazing service that we got.

We went to Copelands for the first time today for Sunday brunch. We arrived there as they opened at 10am. Not crowded yet, but later it drew a crowd. There was plenty of seating and the service was excellent. The place was clean and there were a few stations for waffles, desserts, carving station, omelets , fish, chicken , salad and fruit to name a few. We enjoyed it and will definitely return.

We came in on Fat Tuesday, so it was definitely busy -- but honestly, the staff handled it really well. Even with the crowd, our food came out faster than I expected and everything was fresh and flavorful. The portions were great and exactly what you want on a day like that. You can tell the kitchen was on point, even under pressure. Our server stayed friendly, patient, and checked in on us without making us feel rushed, which I really appreciated considering how packed it was. Overall, it was a fun, lively experience and a perfect place to be on Fat Tuesday. I'd absolutely come back -- especially knowing they can still deliver great service when it's slammed.

I had the crash and burn punch bowl.

Colin H. Was my server I enjoyed my visit food was good and my service was great. I had Jazzy wings, buffalo spring rolls, 1/2 dozen of the rockefeller oysters and the butter and honey biscuits to go.

Every time I've come to this restaurant it's been really well for me. This food has been nice service have been good. I always like to order the crawfish étouffée. It was so good. Definitely a lot of food you can probably take some home with you I'm never able to finish it all in one sitting. my friend Got the chicken dish not exactly sure which one it is I'm so sorry and then we had a bowl of gumbo and a bowl of corn soup I think it was. Really good! I've sat in the bar area that area was really nice it was the bar but still kind of quiet and a great laid-back grown and sexy type of scene. When I'm sat in the dining room it was very nice too very cozy it was pretty busy that day but again not too loud. I'll definitely be back again

Went for happy hour with discounted drinks and appetizers. Service was great and the appetizers were tasty. They had only 4 selections for appetizers in the happy hour menu, but wine and drinks are discounted so it is a reasonably priced place to go and happy lasts until 7:00 pm.

The soda lacked carbonation in the coke, so I mentioned it tasting off to me. I switched to an Orange Fanta, and that too lacked carbonation. Ended up just eating my spicy crab combo with no drink. Which thankfully, spicy is no where near spicy at this location. Medium at best if you order spicy. Genuinely let down, especially since it is ONE cluster for $38.99. But a party of one, which I was shocked but they do list on the menu of prices. I almost tipped 20% on top of the bill, until I was looking into why it was higher than I expected. Additionally, $4.99 for a soda that doesn't even have the syrup and carbonation properly calibrated?! Wowza, what a letdown for $50+ for dining alone. If you are in Jacksonville, you are surrounded by lots of good seafood places. Big crab? Personally, a pass for me.

We got the mild option, but honestly, we didn't really notice any spice, so I would definitely go for a higher spice level next time. The seasoning was pretty good, but not the best I've had. It was a bit too oily for my preference, which sounds a bit dumb because of course it's oily. But it was so hard to get the seasoning on the food. My wife started with the daily special, a dragonfruit mojito. It was a beautiful purple color, but unfortunately, it looked much better than it tasted. It had almost no sweetness and was honestly pretty bad. Two of us tasted it when our server came back to see if we wanted to order the same thing, and we both immediately declined. Our server took it back and worked some magic to improve it, which we appreciated. My wife eventually switched to a different drink later that was much better. The rest of the table's cocktails were fine, but nothing really stood out. We split the L'Cobb salad as an appetizer, and it was amazing. It was easily one of the highlights of the meal, and both my wife and I agreed we would order it as a meal in the future. For dinner, my wife ordered the Country Captain Salmon and said it was excellent and something she would definitely order again. Both of our friends ordered the filet and complimented the flavor and preparation. I went with the L Burger, and unfortunately, that was the disappointment of the meal for me. The meat was juicy but lacked seasoning, so the burger depended heavily on the bacon jam for flavor. There wasn't enough of it to carry the burger. I asked for some extra to cover the areas that had been missed, and adding more definitely helped, but overall the burger was still just mid. I would try their regular burger next time because I think traditional condiments could have easily taken it from mid to good. The fries, however, were cooked perfectly and lightly salted. We finished by ordering three desserts to share: the pecan pie, peanut butter pie, and crème brûlée cheesecake. The peanut butter pie was delicious, extremely rich, and HUGE. Two people could easily struggle to finish it. The crème brûlée cheesecake was also delicious and was a more average-sized dessert portion. Our friend was disappointed with both the taste and portion size of the pecan pie. Overall, there were definitely some hits and misses with the food and drinks, but the service was excellent. Our server was friendly, attentive, handled the issue with my wife's first cocktail without hesitation, and took great care of us throughout the evening. The L'Cobb salad, salmon, filets, and desserts were the standouts. I would come back, but next time I'd skip the L Burger and try something else on the menu.
