This is my favorite place for a seafood boil in town. I was thinking about having a wild splurge and ordering the king crab. Before she out the order in, our amazing server brought out a frozen king crab leg (1 leg = 1 lb) to double check that this was what I wanted because it was $80. I was SOOO grateful she did that and ended up ordering something different. With so many options of places to eat, it's the little things like that that will ensure my family will keep celebrating special occasions here. Calling all seafood loving girl-lala's!!!! Instead of taco Tuesday we had a seafood boil Tuesday. My husband knows me through and through I will never turn down seafood. So we packed up the kid and headed to Crafty Crab. Upon walking in we were greeted by hostess and she sat us down and let us know that our serve Raegan would be right over. I had 1lb of snow crab, half lb of crawfish and headless shrimp with a boiled egg and corn! Ugh it was absolutely amazing the sauce was so good. I did medium but I wish I would have done the hot to have move of a kick. Needless to say it was good! The ambiance there made me feel like I was in an old sea village but it was very chill and not super loud for a Tuesday night. This place is ASS! When it first opened up it was good, but the service and quality of the food has definitely declined! The last 3 take out orders I've gotten have been horrible! Charged for a full meal and only receiving half of the meal not 1, not 2, but 3 times in a row. It took over 2 hours to complete our meal, and the only reason it wasn't longer is because I finally tracked someone down to print our check. After being seated, it took 20+ minutes just to see our waitress. Drinks took well over 30 minutes, and our food didn't arrive for more than an hour. We got there at 6:30 and didn't pay the check until after 9:00 PM. In that entire time, we saw our waitress a total of four times. To make matters worse, when we asked for a metal butter knife to cut a birthday cake, she was rude and told us they didn't have any; which was clearly not true, because my husband got up and got one from another waitress without any issue. This was easily one of the worst dining experiences we've had in a long time. If you're spending $128 on dinner (no alcohol, by the way), you expect at least decent service. Our first experience here was good. Jeff waited on us and he was fantastic! The food was all good. Great wings! The oysters were very good but super tiny. We enjoyed happy hour, which lasts a few hours. My only complaint was it was really hot inside. Not too much cooler than outside in the beginning of August. Not sure what happened since the last time I've been here, but the food and service went downhill. After we were seated, it took forever for a server to come by. Our server was super friendly but did not check up on us after we got our food or refilled our waters. My husband was out of water and we could not flag her down because she was no where to be seen. She apologized when we got to the register for the delay because she was so busy, which I understood. What I didn't like was that I was waiting at the register to pay and there were literally two employees there just talking and not acknowledging me at all. One of them even glanced at me and proceeded to ignore me. The food was mediocre this time. The crab legs were overcooked as they were soggy in most parts. There was not enough sauce as the seafood looked dry in some places. The mushrooms were good though and the calamari was still decent. But they didn't serve calamari with any lemon wedges, which was odd to me. Most places always provide lemon with their calamari. The large platter was a good amount of food for the 5 of us. I believe it was like $70.99 and included three clusters of snow crab, shrimp with head on, clams, mussels, crawfish, potatoes and corn. I do wish they would include sausage with their boils though as most places do. But here, there's an upcharge to add sausage. Overall, I don't know if I would come here again. I've been to this restaurant several times before and always had a great experience, but unfortunately my most recent visit with my niece and parents was very disappointing. When we arrived, there were only two other people dining, yet it still took about 10 minutes before we were seated. After ordering, it took around 30 minutes for our food to come out, which normally wouldn't bother me, but with such an empty restaurant it felt unusually slow. We also ordered crab fries that never came. The crabs we did get weren't cooked properly and were sticking to the shell, and my broccoli was undercooked. I've always enjoyed this place in the past, but this visit really missed the mark. read more

Our first time here and we are glad we chanced it. Nice vibe in restaurant and friendly staff. Easton was our waiter and he was great; and very attentive. I had fried scallops which were huge and a very filling portion. and fried perfectly. Husband had fried shrimp and he said they were very good. Reasonable prices too! Food was good but cold. Customer service was ass. The waiter Tammy that me and my husband had didn't provide the service we expected. Our order was missing half the food we ordered and was given the wrong food. She engaged more with her friends that came in after us than making sure our order was correct.Our waiter never came to refill our drinks, she had someone else from the bar do her job. When our food first came out 2minutes later she came to give us to go bags stating " I seen you shaking and twisting your bags and thought you was ready to leave". Mind you we got seafood boils in a bag btw. We were told the food that was cold would be taken off but it wasnt. Management never came out to speak with us or reassure us about our experience here. Finally got to eat at Crafty Crab and it was surprisingly nice. The staff is amazing and the food is great especially the mussels and the oysters . I also got a boil and I don't like crabs but I got some in the boil and it tasted really good. I still don't like fighting to get my meat but it was really simple and very sweet . And the next week I got takeout and my son loved the wings and fries . I was a frequent customer to Juicy Crab down Blanding right after 295 for 2 years and Crafty Crab was just as good !!! When they opened initially they were fantastic. Seafood combo was seasoned and plentiful. Spicy was truly spicy. But, as of late, my last few visits have not been positively memorable. I wilI admit, I was skeptical at first. After reading several reviews and examining the pictures, I felt like I made the right decision picking this restaurant. Due to COVID 19 I placed my order to go. They had a special which included a half of pound of headless shrimp and crab legs. Two potato's, two corn and a 6 ounce lobster. The sauce was amazing, better than the other Cajun boil restaurants. I also ordered a side order of fried shrimp, which was average and took up a lot of stomach space. Couldn't decide on what to eat, decided to try this place based on the positive reviews. I decided to place an order to-go, I got the special of 1/2lb if shrimp, crab, sausage etc. As I was waiting I noticed people coming in crowds, I guess that should tell me something lol.. the girl did say they were opening locations in every state.. so I guess that counts for something. My food was delicious, I got the boom sauce which consist of everything. The sauce was very flavorful. I recommend getting the boom sauce. The seafood it's self was cooked just right. Also this place is very inexpensive. They have specials going on during the week and weekend. I would definitely try this location again when I'm in the area. read more

Ive heard about this place but never ate there until today . The food was fantastic and our server Jeff was awesome ! Everything we ordered was hot,fresh and so tasty . Even the french fries (hit or miss at most places) were great ! We both ate and ate,and still had plenty to take home. Mothers Day visit. Place was packed. Management obviously anticipated the extra patronage and had extra staff for customer satisfaction. Same waiter we had 2 months prior. He remembered us and was, as before, very professional and helpful in meeting our needs. Food is a tad pricey bet well worth it. It arrived hot and as ordered which tends to be a challenge for other dining establishments on normal days. Clean floors, rugs, tables and dishes. Went here for the first time and it was very good. The atmosphere is very nautical with nets, fish etc. our waitress was Ava and she did a fantastic job. She was very attentive and courteous. We've been meaning to stop by here for a while now. I'm glad we did. The restaurant is pretty cool. Great lighting and I really liked the way the tables were set. Plus, we had our own trash bucket. Joe took great care of us. The bar drinks were good (Blue Hawaii, Apple Martini and a Bud Light). We ordered crab cakes and hush puppies for starters, they were ok. The boils, out of the world good. Tried their fried shrimp and some wings last night. While the wings weren't that great we enjoyed the shrimp. It had a fried batter almost like fried chicken. Nice and crunchy. It would be nice if they seasoned that batter a little more with maybe some old bay or something to give a little zest. Coleslaw was good. Crafty Crab is one of my favorite restaurants in the Jacksonville area. When I have a hankering for seafood I come here! I have eaten here 10+ times before writing this review. They do seafood boil in a bag as some of the photos indicate. They use real butter and the spices are outstanding! People usually talk about the Boom sauce which is indeed very tasty but we get the original cajun sauce - Fire hot. The seafood usually comes out perfectly done. I have always been able to get the snow crab meat out in one piece by cracking the legs in half. That is a sign that the crab is perfectly done. Sometimes the lobster tail comes out a little tough but the last few times we have been that has not been the case. They must have adjusted the cooking time. They will cook it separately if you request it. They run daily specials that are a great deal. The last time we ate here we got the half pound snow crab, headless shrimp and lobster tail special. We added 1 pound of clams and a half pound of sausage to make it a special treat! They serve wine and beer. They have an OK selection (read - they could do better here!) of beer on draft. They also have a couple of dessert items if you have any room left. read more

We arrived here with a line outside. Walked in and surprise they had a table for two ready. No waiting a plus. Seth our server came by right away got our drink order and when he came back with our drinks gave him our order. The food came out quickly and we began to eat. Visited this place with one of our son's family and ordered 2 of the daily special of 1lb. seafood boil: 1lb shrimp, 1lb crab, 1lb mussels accompanied with corn and potatoes in a decadent garlic sauce. Each special comes with 3 appetizers or sides, for a total of 6. This is the best seafood boil I've ever had! The rich broth swimming with the fresh seafood made it easy to finish off the entire meal and sides! I was worried when the bags of seafood goodness arrived, but even more amazed that we ate the entire thing except for a few fries. We had a great, very attentive but not in an aggravating, intrusive, kind of way, waiter-Seth!! We ordered a 1/2 pound of the steamed oyters-medium level with The Boom sauces, 1/2 pound, steamed scallops-fire level, The Boom sauce, the whole shrimp with heads and crawfish boil with potatoes and corn, the small seafood platter, and 4 orders of egg. ALL of the food was FRESH, DELICIOUS, JUICY, WELL SEASONED, PERFECT, PERFECT, PERFECT!!!! The atmosphere was awesome!
