    Harvest Boil with the boom

10/10 favorite seafood boil spot on this side of town. Hush puppies are also good. Get the boom sauce on your crab boil !

Our first experience here was good. Jeff waited on us and he was fantastic! The food was all good. Great wings! The oysters were very good but super tiny. We enjoyed happy hour, which lasts a few hours. My only complaint was it was really hot inside. Not too much cooler than outside in the beginning of August. Jeff told us there were 4 ac units but the doors opening and closing so much cause them to struggle. Struggle they did because everyone in my family(of 9) was sweating by the time we left.

Not sure what happened since the last time I've been here, but the food and service went downhill. After we were seated, it took forever for a server to come by. Our server was super friendly but did not check up on us after we got our food or refilled our waters. My husband was out of water and we could not flag her down because she was no where to be seen. She apologized when we got to the register for the delay because she was so busy, which I understood. What I didn't like was that I was waiting at the register to pay and there were literally two employees there just talking and not acknowledging me at all. One of them even glanced at me and proceeded to ignore me. The food was mediocre this time. The crab legs were overcooked as they were soggy in most parts. There was not enough sauce as the seafood looked dry in some places. The mushrooms were good though and the calamari was still decent. But they didn't serve calamari with any lemon wedges, which was odd to me. Most places always provide lemon with their calamari. The large platter was a good amount of food for the 5 of us. I believe it was like $70.99 and included three clusters of snow crab, shrimp with head on, clams, mussels, crawfish, potatoes and corn. I do wish they would include sausage with their boils though as most places do. But here, there's an upcharge to add sausage. Overall, I don't know if I would come here again. I just felt that service was lacking and we didn't feel like we mattered as much.

First off shout out to Kennedy. She was so cute trying to get Dos Equis pronounced. she was a great server. I love the garlic butter sauce for the crabs. My grandkids love to go and hangout and eat crabs. Grandson says "sooo much better than Joe's Crab Shack!"

The food was great. The atmosphere was wonderful. The staff was good. It was in a strip mall which was very odd but then when you walked in, you didn't even feel that you were in a strip mall prices were right I will be back.

Saturday night dinner. The wait time was short, about 20 min. I had the steamed oysters and a seafood boil with shrimp and black mussels. Everything was good just a little salty. Hubby had the fried tilapia with fries. The sweet tea was amazing.

When they opened initially they were fantastic. Seafood combo was seasoned and plentiful. Spicy was truly spicy. But, as of late, my last few visits have not been positively memorable. The food lacks the spice and seasoning they began with. All I can enjoy is the fried foods, but even that is sub-par. No longer a fan and had to find another Seafood Dive.

I wilI admit, I was skeptical at first. After reading several reviews and examining the pictures, I felt like I made the right decision picking this restaurant. Due to COVID 19 I placed my order to go. They had a special which included a half of pound of headless shrimp and crab legs. Two potato's, two corn and a 6 ounce lobster. The sauce was amazing, better than the other Cajun boil restaurants. I also ordered a side order of fried shrimp, which was average and took up a lot of stomach space. I would definitely return.

Overall, I think anytime you get new management in and they're willing to freshen up things, in the long run it's a good thing. You can't keep what's old old forever, everything's got to be refreshed. Now, all you need to do is get rid of those tiny drinking glasses and get the largER plastic restaurant glasses... I know there's value (for the owners and nobody else) in having a waitress continually run back-and-forth to your table to refill your drink (yeaaaa, good service!) but that's not for me, give me a good size drink and everybody's happy! Don't take away too much of what this place used to be, don't refresh too much, and don't try to add or subtract too much... Remember, this was a successful business and most of us like it just the way it was... Most of it. And oh, get some big boy french fries, these little half size things don't work... Also, still no shrimp and catfish Poboys on the menu? Original review: Good place to eat, one of my favorites, on weekdays, I have never had any problems with the food or service here, so rest assured. I've only been here a couple of times when it was super busy. However, aside from a little bit long wait to be served, everything was always good. The star of the show at Whiteys is being able to have a good meal, while looking at the beautiful scenery along the river, that really brings out what the place is all about. The wait, staff is always friendly there, they go out of their way to make you feel at home. The menu here is excellent, it is what it is for this type of joint, and they go above and beyond just standard bar food fair.

The difference inside they have lightened it up and recovered the booths and such. Outside one can still come by boat and eat outside on the porch/porches! Menu has changed a bit, gotten more expensive. The whole back of the menu is all alcohol drinks! I ordered a platter grilled mahi with one side ($19); the mahi was good and the collards were hot, seasoned and I liked but one of the other ladies had to request a diff side. Others got shrimp tacos, fried grouper sandwich (one side) and a Cobb salad. They seemed to enjoy but few "to go boxes". Maybe they should have lunch specials? Service was excellent by Peyton!

I decided and came for lunch today and I will say it did not disappointment like I thought it would. I'm always down to try a place atleast once. So let's get into this review shall we!? Upon walking in my husband and I were greeted by the hostess and you'll see a big chalkboard with their weekly specials. We were sat in the back by a window so it was nice to have a view. Everything looked good on the menu. We started off with shrimp and some oysters and the oysters were topped with collard greens and cheese they were good but the oysters were just HUGE! For my entree I had a shrimp po'boy with a side of the bacon collards again they were really good. My only issue is that for my po'boy the bread was not a roll but it was still satisfying. My husband had the fish platter with grouper and trigger fish with fries and coleslaw. We absolutely loved the grouper it reminded me of red snapper. However we will be back and I love a cutie, rustic looking restaurant.

Besides the server giving my SIL's boyfriend the wrong item (they gave shrimp when he ordered fish and he's allergic to shrimp), everything else tasted mediocre. I had the seafood boil combo with snow crab, mussels, blue crab, corn, and potatoes in their Rockin Special Sauce (Garlic, Lemon Butter, and Cajun sauces) in TNT spice level. It wasn't spicy at all and if everything was so SALTY!!!! I couldn't taste anything but salt. I grew up having a fisherman dad and I can tell if the seafood is fresh or not and the seafood here was not fresh. The snow crab's meat was a bit stringy and usually an indication of a fresh snow crab is how hard their shell is. When we tried to crack the shell, it was soft. The blue crabs were decent but I got all males. Usually female crabs are much more flavorful but they were most likely not in season. The mussels were chewy and had weird consistency. The potatoes and corn were probably the best thing in the seafood boil. My husband and SIL also had seafood boils and they both thought theirs were also salty and nothing to rave about. My SIL's boyfriend had the fried catfish platter with hushpuppies and he said it was pretty good. I had a hushpuppy and I agree it was hot, crispy, flavorful and fried to a nice golden brown. Overall, there are better places for a seafood boil. The food is just overall mediocre but the service was pretty good. They do have weekday specials and the prices are decent for the portion size. However, I would skip this place to be honest.
