GOT FOOD POISONING! ate 2 dozen oysters Saturday, threw up all day Sunday, went to ER Monday... IRENE said their insurance only covers 6 hours from the time of the visit. They said the oysters come from VA frozen, not fresh, and they open them ahead of time and put them in a container. I will be filing a complaint with the state at 850-487-1395. I was very sick--no sympathy from this restaurant at all. Please do not eat these oysters. read more

I went as soon as they opened today @12pm because I was in the area and wanted some fried seafood.. i ordered a oyster basket with sweet potato fries.. and I got some noodles.. broccoli.. and sausage in juicy mild sauce with extra garlic.....about 15 mins later I received my food and it was tied up in the bag.. so thinking nothing of it.. I drove on home to enjoy my lunch.. & low and behold when I opened my food my fried oyster were dark brown and burnt.. I was so mad because that wasn't the first time I've gotten fried oysters and they were fried too long.. the sweet potato fries weren't burnt at all and that immediately made me feel like my oysters were old and refried from the day before.. I was so upset because I felt like since it was the beginning of their day I would get fresh food .. my boil bag was ok.. but I thought wrong.. I was referred to this restaurant by my friends uncle. Her and I decided to go to the restaurant I think on a Monday night. The place was nice and clean. It wasn't very busy but it wasn't too slow either. We seated immediately after walking in the door. Waitress came over very quickly as well. Very nice lady. I'm not sure if she was normally doing another job because she said she hasn't served in a while so she wasn't quite sure on some of the specials she just wanted to double check. That wasn't a problem at all because at least she was honest and was very concerned about making sure we got the right information on the specials and prices that they had going on for the night. My friend and I both decided to get the Blue Crab special I think it was $33. It came with the four blue crabs the shrimp no heads corn and potatoes I picked it all in one seasoning with hot and then a side of the extra hot. Food came fairly quickly. The food was very good! Flavoring was very well. I do know a lot of times at these type of places this season and flavors very water down but I felt like this one had a lot of good seasoning that could be because I've got special seasoning that's why I always get the other one seasoning at seafood places. Even after having the food the next day is leftovers once I took the bag. Very flavorful I just added a little bit extra butter in the bag and it melted very well still lots of flavor. By the way I forgot to mention my friend ordered one of their nightly drink specials which was six or seven dollars I think per drink. She said that it was very good as well. They have a meal and drink special everyday of the week. Music is always good and atmosphere is laid back. I had the lobster special,(1 lobster tail, 1/2 lb shrimp, potato, corn on the cob, 1/2 lb crab legs) I usually add boiled eggs and a side of rice. Oysters are really good too. It's always a hit and miss with this place for me. Service from bar staff is good. The waiters/waitresses are good depending on who you get, and the food is just okay. This location could use a redo as its primary customers are those within the area and spend a great deal of money. They tend to play pretty good music from the jukebox as well. They also up charge on Juneteenth in order to give their black employees more money for working. Insane concept if you ask me. My wife and I stopped for lunch after church on a Sunday noon. We shared a "boil" of shrimp and sausage. It was plenty for the two of us and was delicious. The waitress was super. My complaint is with the atmosphere, that is the music. We were the only patrons in the restaurant. The music was loud vulgar, I mean very vulgar, rap. None of the staff seemed to mind! After complaining to who I assume was the manager, the music was changed to a different rap station.
