This place gets really packed during lunch , so come early to avoid the rush. They have a wide variety of food from breakfast to burgers to salads and sandwiches. They are known for their burgers here, but just know you can get any burger but the "lady combo" if you want a smaller burger. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with their tots. The tots were soooooo good, and the grilled chicken was good. A couple of people ordered burgers at the table and ate every bite of it. It's a little pricey, but the food was good. I decided to celebrate this lazy Thursday afternoon with a trip to the fine establishment that is Coppell Deli. I've been wanting to go for a week or two now but I just haven't been able to find enough time between buying MP3s from Russia and obsessively checking my Yelp account for "Good Writer" compliments. This place is greasy enough to make Lance Armstrong blush, but easily tasty enough for 4 stars. I ordered the Stubb Special, which is basically scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon and cheese on Texas Toast. Sounds simple, but they really did a great job putting this thing together. The bacon and the sausage complimented each other well, and the sausage itself was surprisingly scrumptious. I went half and half with my wife on a California Burger, which held it's own pretty well. Instead of that chemically formed avocado paste that usually finds its way onto mediocre burgers, Coppell Deli had huge chunks of fresh avocado all over this thing. The burger was slightly overdone, but still flavorful, especially with all the fixins. There really aren't any fruits or vegetables on the menu unless you consider orange soda a fruit, so don't plan on finding your future wife here. I've never seen so many guys packed into such a small space outside of a metal concert, but don't come here for that ... It's all about the food baby! read more

After three visits to this restaurant during my stay in the area for work I thought I had found my go to place - the food is really good and the prices are very reasonable. However, after today's experience, I've decided not return for the rest of my time here. After waiting 20+ minutes for my food order to arrive, while watching people who ordered before and after me finishing their meals, I tracked down an employee to ask where my fish sandwich to go was. Instead of speaking to me directly, he talked to the people behind the counter before taking it upon himself to go into the kitchen area, snatch up a styrofoam container, put it in a plastic bag and hand it to me without an apology or offer of compensation. The cherry on top appeared when I returned to my hotel room and opened up my meal: does the photo below look like a fish sandwich and tater tots? By the way, the small container in the upper left with "T" marked on it contained tartar sauce (the other container had syrup?!?). So while this restaurant does well when everything is status quo, they don't seem very good at properly handling problems when they occur. read more

3.5 stars Yes, this place is small. Yes, it can be a bit janky at sometimes. But it certainly has a character of its own. There are tons of Cowboys memorabilia with autographed pics of the 'boys strewn everywhere throughout the tiny shop. Service is friendly even during the busy hours. These certainly aren't the best burgers you can find in the area, but it's a nice place to get a quick, hearty meal. I usually order the mushroom swiss burger with a side of taters. Overall average, the meat is usually pretty juicy and tender so no complaints there. The buns are toasted which I greatly appreciate. The main issue is I wish there was more umph in the meat seasoning. The taters seem like the one you get in the freezer section and they just deep fried them for ya. Classic but meh. Coppell Deli, reliving High School cafeteria atmosphere in a dive. The only difference is the food here makes me want to sit up and beg for buttermilk (that's good!). Let me explain the first sentence. Coppell Deli is a dive; without a doubt but its the best kind of dive. Simple, delicious food without being the least bit fancy or pretentious. The outside looks like a small town mom and pop deli and the inside has the same tile, chairs, and feel of my high school cafeteria. Much like High School there is all kinds of team pride plastered on every inch of this place. Its proximity to the Cowboys facility leads to this pride and even has some foods named after old favorites who had the star on their helmet. The best is the "Newton Favorite" which is a giant deli sandwich with several pork products on a standard BLT with avocado. This was the signature sandwich for 'Big Juicy' but now that he is 150lbs I doubt he has had one of these in a couple of years. FOOD: American deli all the way! Nothing complex just home style food packed with calories, grease, and simple, delicious flavors. The burger is fantastic and one that vies for attention as one of the best in DFW. The fries are good but I generally pass that up and got for their tater tots to round out the Cafeteria feel from my freshman year, and I'd suggest doing the same. SERVICE: Pay and move along! No wait staff just someone who takes your order and someone calls out your number when its ready. Do everyone a favor and decide while you wait in line and order quickly. This place gets packed quick and there isn't a lot of table space here. The best service comes from how the cook crafts this comfort food for your belly, which will be distended when you walk out the door. ATMOSPHERE: I've already largely covered that it is just like high school but much smaller and with much better food. The old school menu board has yellowed with age and some of the old autographed cowboys pictures and Wheaties boxes have faded. Then rub it in their face that you got it from the 'dive deli' that was down the street from Hard 8. Mock them for days about being shallow and judging a book by its cover. Then make time on your schedule to eat alone from now on because no one likes an ass. The moral of this story is great food can come out of unsightly packages and here they embody that. Absolutely one of the BEST BURGERS in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. Located inside an old market, it can be very crowded at lunch time, but the turn around is fairly quick so the wait is not bad. Even if you had to wait an hour, the food here is worth it.. You can order in advance by phone, fax or online and have it waiting when you get there. The walls are covered in Dallas Cowboy stuff, probably because the Cowboy facility is down the street. Unless you eat as much as a horse, don't order a double, not only is it a ton 1 lb burger, but you'll need a Big mouth just to take a bite. We have been going here for years . It's a popular hang out with the kids. I've been going here since before the new building was built - when it was a quaint little deli. The quality of food has remained consistent and delicious. There is something about their patty melt that makes me keep going back for more. I'm not sure about all the other menu items coz I never order them. Having said that, my family has tried their different items and all are delicious . Their hamburger is out of this world - a solid meat patty without all the other flavor altering distractions - just the way a hamburger should taste. Their fries are outstanding . This is the definition of an old-school, blue collar burger joint, and I mean that in the best way possible. The burger is everything you a burger is supposed to be, and nothing its not. Its juicy, beefy, largely portioned, and fresh veggies make it one of the most solid burgers I've had in DFW. Also have had the Newton Club (turkey, bacon, ham, two kinds of cheese, triple decker sandwich - I think the thing weighed about a pound!), and it was delicious, even if one of the greasier things I've eaten recently. Tots were darn good, and a huge serving size that I couldn't even finish. The inside reminds me of the old, small town diner out in East Texas that my grandparents frequented when I was younger, and on a side note I think me and the decor may be about the same age. Vintage 90's Cowboys flair everywhere, with some pretty awesome memorabilia for DFW sports fans to be found on the walls. Located down the street from my workplace my coworkers and I usually order from this deli on payday. It was amazing at first even though I only order the veggie burger. The food was always hot and it was the best veggie burger in town... or so I believed. Fast forward to three orders ago and the veggie burger I received was slightly cold and falling apart instead of being a firm patty like before. Onion rings were okay but not mind blowing. Two orders ago and the veggie burger was cold, the grilled onions on top were almost raw and they did not put any pickles on it despite my request for extra pickles. To add insult to injury the tater tots tasted so old and were so cold I didn't even bother to finish them. The final nail in the coffin was the last order where once again my veggie burger was cold, tots were old, and this time the grilled onions were strangely gelatinous.
