Solid eatery.. though I will say that if not for Yelp, I would NEVER walk in here due to the decor. This place is what Yelp is all about though. I went here for 2 reasons, nearby where I was and due to the rave reviews of my fellow Yelpers. This is one of those places that was great in 1970 (just guessing) and is still great today and they have not touched it or messed with it. Not saying that is bad, but you don't mess with what works. This place works.. bottom line. I had the burger and onion rings since that was a hit on other reviews. It hit the spot.,.. and I am not just saying that since I was hungry either. The onion rings were crispy and delightful, the burger was cooked perfectly and had great balance with the bun and all condiments. The overall price was around $9 with a fountain drink. Great darn good comfort food. Again, the deli is not much to look at, in fact I almost drove right by, and even though it is called a deli, most of the menu is cheese steaks, breakfast burritos and cheese burgers.. they did have club on the menu. However I am betting that the menu has just evolved over the years to feature what sells, burgers and burritos. While I was there, a steady stream was still coming in even up to closing. This place is amazing. It's very small, seats maybe 25-30 people, but what it lacks in square footage it more than makes up for in portion size! The burgers are huge, and so is everything else! My thoughts, judging by all of the Dallas Cowboys memorabilia, are that they must have catered to the appetites of the players. Someone had to clue me into this place, otherwise I would never have found it. I had no reason to go to 'downtown' Coppell. But now I do. Their breakfast sammies are worth the drive and worth every calorie. Been hearing about this place for years and have passed by a lot but never stopped. Decided to stop this morning for breakfast and was not impressed on my first visit. I ordered a sausage and egg sandwich with a water and paid $7.77. Pretty expensive for a breakfast sandwich but I'm generally ok with paying for good food. Got my order to go and went to work. Arrived at the office to find that I wasn't given a sausage and egg, I got a bacon and egg sandwich. Not what I ordered or wanted. Also, the eggs were just regular broken up scrambled eggs. This place is kinda out of the way for most people, so if you are wondering whether or not the drive is worth it, heres what you need to know. The beef here is something special. Really, they might have killed the cow and ground the beef in the back room for all I know. It really has a freshness to it that I have not had anywhere else. This is not a frozen, reheated burger. I had the pattie melt, which was killer. Supposedly this is the place the Cowboys eat at all the time. I don't know about that. I didn't see any but I can see why they would want to eat here. I can't even begin to state how much we love this location. We have been to both Deli locations and can definitely say that this is the best. The food is always spectacular and the staff are wonderful. They know we love to sit at the bar and graciously come to refill our drinks as soon as they go low. They never fail to engage us in conversation and allow us to tune the tv into any sports channel we choose. i love this place so much. its scary at first cause its in a little house that you dont expect but dont run off lol. Coppell Deli is a small place with about a dozen tables. In spite of the "deli" name, the majority of people get burgers and the like rather than deli-style sandwiches. The burgers are pretty good, but the real real draw for me is the Newton, a huge club sandwich. Crossing the line into obnoxiousness, they have the Newton Ultimate, which is a giant club sandwich with the addition of a hamburger patty or a chicken breast - this beast has at least 3/4 pound of meat, and will easily feed two people. Sides are equally generous - a large order of tater tots is more than enough for two. It's definitely not the most fancy place, and asking for the "heart healthy" menu would be akin to blasphemy. But it's great if you're hungry and want a good, tasty lunch. They do serve breakfast, and may be open at dinner time, but I've only had lunch there. As a criticism, their iced tea isn't very good, so you may want to get water if you're not a soda drinker. read more

This place is awesome, a great place to stop and eat in DFW. Big variety available on the menu, and this place has a great patio. There's a couple of TV screens inside and outside, and a bar you access from inside and outside. I'd recommend the pita, but everything here is good. Pretty unassuming place, old structure across the street from an old school barber shop and next to where the Farmer's Market is held. We just got burgers, but they were pretty good. Not those fancy gourmet burgers that you get charged $12 for, but good, grub-by burgers. Fries were alright, I typically prefer thin cut fries, these were more, um, substantial. I think I was able to eat 5. Really liked their sweet tea, on the sweeter side but it is called sweet tea! Want to try their breakfast sandwiches!!! read more

Let me just start off this review by saying that I really want to like Coppell Deli but I just can't bring myself to do it beyond their breakfast sandwiches. While their location/ambiance is great I have had a run in with a chef salad and a turkey club that made me sick to my stomach. Good ol' fashioned grease burgers! This is NOT a place to go and lose weight. In fact, I'm pretty sure Jerry used to send the line over here to fatten up. There's one called the Nate Newton that is basically half a cow between some bread and cheese. Make no mistake, this place is a run down dive. The furniture is rickety and falling apart, the ceiling is falling down in places, but the food is exactly what you would expect and it's awesome! BIG portions, cheap and fast is what these guys serve up. This is one of my favorite hole in the wall restaurants in the area. Don't be anything but a Cowboys fan walking in here either. read more

Coppell Deli is one of my favorite lunch stops. They have all kinds of items on their menus from gyros to burgers and sandwiches. Their burger combo comes with either a quarter pound combo with drinks and choice of tots for $9.49 and for an additional dollar you can get a half pound burger. The burgers are very delicious and always fresh. I think this is better than than most burger places I have been to. Service is fast and customer service is very good as well. Place is small but get here early before noon and you may get good table. Come during noon and you may have no table and have to sit in the patio area. Patio area is cool when the weather is good. When it's hot or too cold then no one is out there. Lot of famous Dallas Cowboys players come here and some even have combos named after them such as Emmitt Smith. Even HOF NFL Coach and broadcaster John Madden has a menu item named after him. They have a wall with autographed photos of Dallas Cowboys players and coaches. Went in on a Friday at lunch time, place was packed. While they serve sandwiches, calling it a deli is a bit of a stretch. It's a burger and fry joint which happens to serve sandwiches. Took a long time to get our food, I think it was just they were packed out. Got a burger with avocado and bacon. The burger had plenty of fat, was cooked to a perfect medium and the avocado was ripe and the perfect accompaniment. My New Jersey boss had the bacon cheeseburger and said it was great. Visited here for the first time last week and will definitely be coming back. Its a very unassuming place in a quaint part of the city, but the food is fantastic and tantalizing. If you're looking for healthy options, I'd look elsewhere; but if its a cheat day and you're looking to blow all your calories in one sitting, this is the place for you! I had the Reuben, which I would say is up there with the likes of Deli News and Cindi's Deli. The sauerkraut was on point as well as the pastrami (a hefty portion). Get the tater tots over the fries!
