Pretty disappointing brunch, especially for a $30 meal. We came in to celebrate a birthday and unfortunately had a pretty disappointing experience with the service. My eggs benedict arrived cold, and the English muffin was so tough that I had to ask for a steak knife just to cut through it. When I mentioned to our server that the meal was cold, she said it was because of the lox. That didn't really explain why the eggs, hollandaise, and English muffin were also cold. She did bring me a replacement, which was actually warm. Unfortunately, the service continued to be disappointing. Our server brought the wrong sides and never apologized or corrected the mistake. She said she would bring out the correct sides, but they never arrived. We were a party of seven, and throughout the meal it felt like our table was an afterthought which is especially frustrating because a 20% gratuity was automatically added. To make matters worse, they brought out a dessert for the birthday that the birthday girl was allergic to even though she had made her gluten allergy known when she initially ordered her meal. Overall, this was a profoundly suck-ass experience. For a roughly $30 entrée, I expected much better food, service, and attention to detail. read more

We recently had brunch here and came away with overall a positive experience. The service throughout our visit was a little on the slow side, and our first impression wasn't the best. We arrived slightly before our seating time and noticed plenty of open tables, but the hostess was less than accommodating and unwilling to seat us early. It felt a bit unnecessary given how many open tables at the time. Once we were seated, the experience improved. Our family had a wonderful experience here! It is inside do the Silver Cloud Hotel (the nicest Silver Cloud I've ever seen) and has floor to ceiling windows showcasing views of the water everywhere. There is also a great amount of natural light and free valet parking (with validation). The food itself was also great! I highly recommend the banana breads it was warm and came with really tasty cinnamon butter. I also recommend the eggs Benedict as well as the breakfast burger, but you really can't go wrong. We had so much fun with his recommendations that we came back two nights in a row just to sit at the bar again. It's a solid place to check out at Point Ruston. I visited Copper and Salt Northwest Kitchen with a bunch of people from my conference for dinner, which turned out to be a fun time. There was a group of 12 of us, so gratuity was included and our server was very friendly and checked in on us throughout our dinner. Learning that the pastas are handmade, I decided to get Italian for dinner. Since I was undecided on which pasta dish to get, I asked my server to recommend his favorite one, and he chose for me the Tuscan Sausage Gnocchi, which was fantastic. The gnocchi was perfectly cooked and the sausage brought a lot of great flavor. I also loved that there was kale, which soaked up the sauce and was a great balance to the sausage. I'm always skeptical of hotel restaurants, but this one was a pleasant surprise. If you're looking for some Italian or seafood dishes, Copper and Salt is a good option for it, with a large restaurant that overlooks the water. read more

My husband and had a spur of the moment date and this place was recommended. We love this area so decided to give it a try, we called about a wait time and were given a 45 minute wait so we checked in a spent some time outside taking in the gorgeous view, it was a bit chilly so we decided to hang out in the hotel lobby where they had lots of seating and a beautiful fireplace until we were seated. The menu is very selective and our waiter kindly explained the dishes to us. We had the house made focaccia to share and it was just absolute perfection! For the entree I had the chicken Milanese & my husband had the wood grilled kurobota pork chop. Of course we shared both entrees, we were both so blown away by the perfection of every single thing we ate! Highly recommend this place, & we will absolutely be back, hopefully to try the breakfast menu. read more

5 stars - A magnificent duck confit worth writing home about Went to Copper and Salt in Tacoma and had the most amazing duck confit of my life. I could have hugged the chef for that meal. It was that good. Each morsel was pure perfection. The duck was tender, practically falling off the bone, rich, and paired with a perfectly balanced sauce. Even the humble braised cabbage beneath the duck was incredible, soaking up all that flavor and adding its own depth. The restaurant sits inside a beautiful hotel with soaring ceilings and big windows overlooking the water. It feels upscale but not stuffy. You'll see everything from couples in formal attire to families in jeans and sneakers, all enjoying themselves in the same space. If I had to choose a last meal, this duck confit could be it. My taste buds would go out with a bang. Copper and Salt, you absolutely nailed it. Bravo. read more

Decided to try this restaurant out for our Valentine's Day date night this year. The ambiance is nice and this location has great views of the waterfront, but I'll be honest this is mostly a location you only come to for the views. The food itself just isn't anything to rave over and is pretty overpriced in my opinion. We started off with the charcuterie which was basic and something I could've made at home. Wish they had some of their own elements to it, like a nice bread or unique cheese to make it worth trying. For our entree we both had the seafood bucatini. Unfortunately it was disappointing. The sauce was just bland-only a hint of lemon and the rest of it was watery and flavorless. The noodles had nothing to absorb so it made the whole dish feel flat. Our service was great and the staff checked on us often and thanked us for coming, I just don't think we will be coming back unless the quality of the food improves. read more

I originally made a reservation through OpenTable for my husband and my wedding anniversary. I specifically messaged the restaurant ahead of time requesting a nice table with a water view. The restaurant promptly responded with they'd accommodate my request. However, once we arrived, the table we were seated at was directly in front of the bar with a less than par view. When I requested to move, the hostess seemed throughly annoyed with us. I happened to notice an open four top table at the window and was told we couldn't sit there. A little while later, another couple was seated there. Also, My Spaghetti Pomodoro was served cold. I don't know who needs to hear this, but we spent $185 with a tip on a less optimal dinner. It's unfortunate because it seemed like this restaurant had the potential to be great. Do better. read more

We first heard about this place through a suggestion, but initially, we decided to explore other options. However, on a spontaneous decision, my husband and I finally gave it a try one day. Our first experience was quite pleasant--I enjoyed a Bloody Mary (Bunny's Brew) and a burger, while my husband savored some wine along with the spicy pork belly sandwich. We also started with a meatball appetizer. Overall, we appreciated the good service, charming ambiance, and delicious food. Our second visit was even better, especially sitting by the window with stunning views. Once again, the service was excellent, and the food was truly tasty. I had another Bloody Mary (Cooper & Salt Bloody) and spaghetti pomodoro. I can't quite recall what my husband ordered, but I remember sharing a delightful Tiramisu for dessert. By the third time, we came with the family to enjoy dessert after lunch. Most recently, during our fourth visit with friends, we found that the service and menu remained consistently enjoyable. All in all, this is a fantastic place to dine, with beautiful outdoor views--even on rainy days. My one curiosity is whether the menu changes? Although every visit has been wonderful, seeing some new dishes would make the experience even more special! read more

Came out to Ruston looking for a solid breakfast spot with my brother to catch up. Copper & Salt is located within the hotel lobby; valet parking is recommended by them yet during a midday morning, we were able to find parking across the street from the entrance. Im sure this place is so popular in the summer time! The hostess welcomed and sat us near the waterfront looking out at the park outside; the clouds hid the mountain views this particular morning looking out at Commencement Bay yet it was still a scenic view. The bar and restaurant seemed like a fun vibe to hang out and the staff were personable and checked in on us during our time there. We had the smoked salmon benedict and the maitake mushroom omelette. No complaints on the food, generous portions & I appreciated how the mushrooms were seasoned & definitely did not finish my portion of the potatoes or omelette! The coffee was super cute w a little leaf decoration :) and they had a good range of flavors for the mimosa, in which I went for the grapefruit ! We stayed at the Silvercloud Ruston Point to visit our daughter and her partner for a concert. After walking around looking at the nearby restaurants we chose Copper and Salt for a late dinner. The drinks are made very well and they don't skimp on the good stuff. We ordered the beet salad and the duck confit. The beet salad with arugula was very good and everything tasted super fresh. The duck confit with acorn squash was amazing. Well cooked and great flavors. When we come to stay at Silvercloud Ruston Point this will be our go to spot for food and drinks. Used to be our favorite meal in Tacoma. My friend and I visit our girlfriend in Tacoma from Ohio a couple of times a year and always head here atleast once for the best Pork Bolognese we've ever had. Incredibly disapointed to learn they've removed this entirely from the menu, which I was told was due to a new chef and the amount of time/effort it took to make the dish. Honestly, a terrible reason to remove the best dish on the menu. There was nothing comparable to this aside from the Spaghetti which I was told had a more sour/acidic sauce compared to the savory and sweet Bolognese so I opted for the dish the waitress recommended, Gemelli Verde. Unfortunately it was lacking in flavor and I felt way too salty/oily. It's a beautiful spot but likely won't return unless the Bolognese makes a return. read more

Lol It was a beautiful Sunday morning and we were joined with some friends. Y'all know I love a good burrito but, breakfast burrito is a guilty pleasure! Being from El Paso we know good burritos! This burrito was so full of deliciousness that I did not speak until I had eaten half of the first half of my burrito. This burrito is BIG! Baby it was full of perfectly cooked eggs and bacon. yum yum! I asked for avocado on the side it was also fresh and the salsa and hot sauce knocked me out! The meal also comes with potatoes. Perfectly cooked crispy and still moist on the inside. Awesome portion. Goodness gracious! I had too many drinks that were so good as well. All of the other dishes received rave reviews from our friends! I will include pictures! The views are always hitting rain or shine. This is the PNW baby rain or shine we got views! It was just okay. I picked this spot for a date night for my husband and I. I was really excited given the location over the water and the homemade pasta. To sum it up, service was lack luster. It took about 30min for our cocktails to come out. We ordered wine from there since it took too long to get our cocktails. Our dinner actually arrived sooner than the drinks. The food was good but nothing that blew me out of the water. We ordered bread that never came. We had a waitress bring the wrong food to us two times. My husband ordered limoncello the they thought we asked for a limoncello tart. The food was good but nothing amazing and service was below average. For lunch ordered what's going to be a different take on spaghetti with burrata and it was so incredibly salty with no other flavors popping through. The margarita grapefruit drink was actually sour to the point that it tasted like something was wrong with it like bad fruit? Good food and good views! Located inside a hotel. Came here for brunch and enjoyed the seasonal omelette I got, which was made with Dungeness crab. I also enjoyed the side of potatoes which despite looking burnt (see photo), were quite tasty. The portions are large - I definitely didn't finish my plate. On a foggy or rainy day, it's still amazing and so so so beautiful! Anytime I have out of town guests, I always bring them here. The food is consistent and so is the service but the view... OMG! It's also great for people watching, doggo spotting and even sea lions can be seen frolicking in the bay! Pro tip, utilize the valet parking! It's free for restaurant patrons and will only cost you a tip. They also accept reservations, have a full bar and offer a full coffee menu as well. I love their cappuccinos! Yum! read more

For a place that seems so upscale and such, I presumptuously attended dinner here thinking that portions would be small and extremely overpriced, however I was incredibly wrong and am so pleased to share this has been one of the best experiences I've had at a fine dining establishment where, although the prices are up there, you leave feeling full and very satisfied. The atmosphere of the restaurant is calm and not overwhelming. We had a beautiful view of Mount Rainier from our table that was just breathtaking. We were greeted promptly by our waiter, Marco, who was just amazing and had a very pleasant demeanor with us the entire evening. We shared a Caesar salad which was aesthetically pleasing to the eye based on how it was presented (unfortunately I forgot to capture a picture) and it was perfect to taste. I loved that someone came by to offer fresh, fine ground pepper. My husband ordered the wild boar shank which was incredibly tender, juicy, and packed with flavor; the meat pulled away from the bone so easily. My uncle and I ordered the salmon plate they were offering as a special which was soft and full of flavor with the sauce that complimented it. My aunty ordered the ribeye which she said was tender and juicy. We had just enough room leftover for dessert, too, which we shared a pistachio gelato. My husband and I both agreed that we couldn't believe how much they gave for each plate! It wasn't a ridiculous amount or too little, but just right in the middle that left us really satisfied. It's a lovely restaurant especially being one inside of a hotel and I love it when we get seats with the view of Ruston and Puget Sound.
