Holy croissant! We were recommended this restaurant by our Airbnb hosts and we will be forever grateful to them for that. This is exactly what we needed after being on the road for 5 hours. I've been here twice and everything that I've had has been delicious. The ribs are great. The filet mignon is good, but for the price there are better things and better steaks at steakhouse. Can't speak to the quality of food as we never got any. We ordered and after waiting an hour, the waitress said I don't know where your food is, the cook and manager won't speak to me. You might want to just leave. We asked to speak to a manager at this point and she went to get him. Well, she comes back and says "he said no, he won't come speak to you. It's up to you but you should probably leave." My wife went back to speak to him in the kitchen and he said cooking our food would mess up everything and she could put on some gloves and help cook if she wanted any food. Copper River is probably about as upscale as the Nicholasville area will ever get. In any other ordinary city, it would be decent mediocre restaurant with good food. I say good because while it is great quality, it's simply just that: Good Food. The Ribeye is a quality cut here as well as the cheeseburgers and pizzas that you just never can go wrong with. If you do get a pizza, my favorite thing to do is get The Big Gambini with a mountainous heaping pie of Pepperoni, sausage and cheese with the Copper River Reds in top of it!! I USED to come to this restaurant ALL the time for lunch because of the Fire Cracker Shrimp with Mac n cheese. It was featured on the lunch menu at around $9. It came with a garlic croissant. They recently changed the menu. Now the Mac n cheese dish is no longer available for lunch and now cost $15. Looking over the menu for another item I got even more displeased. As you can get a Sirloin steak for $10 but a bowl of Mac n cheese with 5/6 shrimp is $15?!?! Please explain to me how you get steak a side and side salad for $10, while having to pay $15 for a bowl of macaroni?? Well... The rest of thier food is subpar at best. I ended up ordering a prime rib sandwich for STILL LESS THAN $15. the meat withing the sandwich was cold, and some areas were raw. This is definitely one of my go-to places as far as comfort "basic level food". I overeat here like crazy due to larger portions. Their menu is fairly diverse, but I tend to eat the same things each time. When I refer to "basic level food" I am talking about chicken tenders, ribs, and salads. I kill for their special honey mustard BBQ sauce as to why I usually get chicken, and they have a decent sized salad that comes with a honey croissant. I have now ordered their ribs three times, and each time I think the ribs are going to get better but I am mistaken each time. They are poorly flavored, have little meat on them, and are dry each time. I even was made ill after eating them one night so will no longer order them again. Service comes and goes depending on where you are sitting. Try to avoid being sat in the bar if you can because the bar tender is more concerned about chatting with those at the bar versus taking orders/refilling drinks. read more

Yum! This is one of the last places I visited prior to the covid 19 restrictions. We were surprised to receive the quality of food. Service was excellent. I had burger with the best pasta salad. My friend got the sirloin. She ordered it rare well cause she wanted medium. She got her steak exactly as ordered (which doesn't usually happen dining out). This place is a higher class Applebee's or TGI Fridays. Food- They offer a specialty Burger[Bigfoots mother in law] that is HUGE, but good. I really do not like to write bad reviews.... I'd like to believe it was an off day , both for our server and the cooks. We were a party of six. Our server was "in a mood" and didn't know how to smile , and chose not to check on us throughout the evening , chose not to refill our drinks or even bring us plates for our appetizers, let alone to see if our entreés were to order and alright. They had no interest in earning a nice tip . No interest in their customers. Our appetizer of Copper Reds were so over cooked, it was nothing but a dry crunch. Our cheese fries were sparse on the cheese and on the ranch dressing, and the bacon/ham had an odd taste. Very disappointing. Then came our salads.... where's the green??? It was all the white parts of iceberg lettuce including the hard parts. It was supposed to have a hard boiled egg chopped up in it, but there was none. Again, very disappointing. The server never stopped to ask how things were. The entreés arrived..... ... another sad story. My cedar planked salmon was so over cooked, it was beyond dry, I couldn't even swallow it because of the dryness. My side item was the 50/50, and again the Copper reds were inedible. On the good side, the fries were good as part of my side item. Everyone else in our party of six had a problem with their meal . Our glasses were empty and desperately needed a refill . Finally, 45 mins later, our server appears with our check and left just as quickly before we could even speak a word. At some point , I do plan on going back to try one more time, because others have spoken so highly of this place , this must have been an off night for their entire crew . Visiting family in Kentucky we have had an awesome two dinners here. My family love beef and all have raves about the steaks to burgers here. No one complained that they didn't get a plate full of quality to cooked to order food. As for me a vegetarian, I have plenty of options. This is decent, reasonably priced food. The atmosphere is modern steakhouse. Our family gathered for a birthday dinner. It was a bit of a wait to order after sitting. We ordered, telling the waiter that we would be splitting two ways. No problem, he said. Some time later, one of four salads arrived. After a five minute wait, the other salads arrived. Then four of the eight entrees arrived. Five minutes later, three more entrees arrived. Ten minutes after that, the last entree arrived (a children's hamburger). The polite thing to do, of course, is to wait until everyone's food arrives before eating. My plate sat in front of me for 15 minutes, getting cold. I had sirloin steak with a loaded potato. The potato was good. The steak, ordered medium rare, came out medium...not a big deal. The beef was mid-grade, and decent for a $12 steak dinner. Nothing fancy, but not priced fancy, either. We brought a small birthday cake. They brought plates and forks; accommodating. For a reasonably priced steak house, Copper River is a fair choice, particularly for Nicholasville, which is generally lacking in better sit-down places. They have a bar with beer and wine (maybe cocktails, didn't notice). The slow, disjointed service killed it for me, though. It was a party of eight, but it was a relatively quiet evening (plenty of open tables). The place needs a manager who can keep food moving, consistently, with an eye for keeping service going. There should be a discount for sitting at a table constantly disturbed by the opening and closing of a door. Almost like being sat next to the kitchen door. Last night my friend ate there for the first time since the COVID reopening and were thoroughly disappointed. Haven't eaten at this establishment when it originally opened we expected the same quality service and good food. Unfortunately this was not the case. We began with Maw Maw's pimento cheese which was edible but not anything to rave about. Our house salads were fair. I ordered the shrimp po-boy with the haystack onions and my fried ordered the shaved ribeye sandwich with a loaded baked potato. My meal was so greasy that I thought my mouth was a grease plug on a 1970's car chassis. My taste buds were assaulted by the saltiness of everything. You could have cast my meal on an ice covered sidewalk to remove the ice it was so salty. My friend asked to try her sandwich and it too was extremely salty. We ate less than 50% of our meal. Our server having been there only a month was trying to do a good job but was slow at times. It is very unlikely we will waste the gas to drive to this establishment again. This regional chain steakhouse has great food and a fun concept. This location has a wonderful bar and a very pleasing environment. Pricing is reasonable, their happy hour special on drafts is incredible, and their seems to be something for everyone on their menu. I'm going four stars out of five because the waiting staff was a bit lackluster even though we were there during a slow time, but we could have just been there on an off day for some of those "behind the scenes" things. I Just Left this Restaurant with my parents. My dad ordered Hamburger and Fries but he never got mayo or ketchup. I ordered a BOWL of potato soup and grilled cheese however I got a cup of soup and the grilled cheese had no cheese on it so I had a bread sandwich. I told the waitress to take it back and remove from our bill. A Manager never ever checked on us, apologize for the errors, ask if I wanted something else, nothing nothing at all. You know in these trying times my parents and I have tried to support our local restaurants but when this happens you wonder why you even bother. We eat there at least once a week but that will no longer happen. What a horrible experience and the manager needs to be fired or retrained. This place truly is a local gem. I've eaten at high-class four-star restaurants and not had a meal as good as the one I had here. Normally I would hesitate to give any chain place a 5 star rating here, but this place really is that good, but then again it's a very small chain and this is the only location for several hundred miles. My wife had a prime rib and baked sweet potato, that was as good as super-high-end gourmet steaks we've had at big-name, big-city places. My ribeye and baked potato and Caesar salad were as good, or better, than I've had just about anywhere else. The dessert was tasty, abundant, and quite good. Service was above-average, and the ambiance and decor of the place was very cozy and inviting. Dinner for two came to around $50, which is to say we've been to places where we have paid significantly more for food that was not quite as well. Now seven of us have our meals. 5-10 minutes later our waiter shows up and tells us they made a mistake and that the manager would be by to explain what happened to the final entree. Manager finally shows up with last entree a few minutes later, no story (as if we cared whose fault it was anyway). I had the club. The turkey was shiny, low quality pressed lunch meat. Friend sitting next to me ordered prime rib, medium rare. It came WELL DONE. Friend across from me did not care for her pasta primavera.
