Visited a couple of times, and had stylist Barbara. She's done good work in the past, but the last time I went will be the last time I go back. She was overbooked and shouldn't have done me the favor of scheduling me in. The color took nearly 4 hours with all the haircuts she worked me around. It was a frenetic afternoon - I was late consequently, she left the color on too long,so she had to back pedal and ask me to put a glaze on (which I paid for) - to even out the color - really to hide the mediocre job, it seemed to me. I was there for a haircut. Nice and friendly people. The place was clean and the service was great. I only have an issue with their recommendations. I asked for recommendation, because the time I wash my hair it gets very fast oily throughout the day. They recommended a very expensive product and I bought it, but it didn't help. I have spent a lot of money for a product I cannot use. Therefore the recommendation was not helpful and I thought they know what they over me. Altogether the haircut was great and in case I will visit this place again I will only ask for a haircut. read more

Today was my first time at Copper River salon. I went in for a facial, blowout, and spa pedicure. I have never had a facial before so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. The technician, Jasmine was quite nice, but she did a lot of upselling which was a bit annoying. The facial itself was pleasant, however it was just an ok experiance overall. I think that was more of me just not really being into the facial more than anything else thought. Worth a try, but not something I think I'll spend the money on again anytime soon. I also noticed wherever she did an extraction the pores looked raised and bumpy. That made me rather unhappy as my face looked more broken out when I left then when I entered, but I'm not sure if that is just a normal part of the process. Next, I got a blowout with Isabelle and she was really good. I usually wear my hair fairly straight and she did a great job of blowdrying it straight without curling the ends like most hairdressers tend to want to. Generally most hairdressers need to touch it up fairly extensively with a flat iron, but Isabelle didn't. She also used products that combated my extremely frizzy hair without weighing it down. She was pleasant and knowledgeable. I highly recommend her. Finally, I went to get my spa pedicure and was thoroughly unimpressed. The technician was nice but the experience was very disappointing. The color selection was rather limited. The massage chair only vibrated slightly. My feet spent no time soaking before the technician jumped right in. The only spa part as far as i could tell was the use of an exfoliating scrub and lotion, but most places include that as part of their basic pedicure. She did some massaging which was nice, but I certainly don't think it was worth me paying double what I usually do for a pedicure. After all was said and done my pedicure only took 40 minutes. I usually spend at least an hour getting a pedicure, usually more. Then the worst part was that I was immediately sent downstairs to leave. I had to ask the receptionist if I could sit in the waiting room to finish letting my nails dry before putting back on my sandals seeing as I didn't want to walk down Nassau St in the flimsy throwaway flipflops they give you. I have never experienced a place that did't have an area for customers to wait for their nails to dry, and as a day spa I certainly expected the bare amenities that can be found in any nail salon. Overall, I found the pedicure to be highly disappointing and not at all worth the price. TL;DR - I would recommend the spa for getting your hair done, but not much else. The facial was nice, but I probably won't go again. The pedicure was way overpriced for what it was, rather rushed, and not very relaxing. read more

I tried this place out bc I had a Groupon and I'm glad I did! The Groupon was for a wash, conditioning, basic cut and blowdry. When I arrived, I was quickly greeted, checked- in and offered a beverage. The waiting area was very clean and relaxing. My stylist was Dayna. I came in with pics of some ideas of what I'd be interested in (but was open to suggestions). She was very polite and gave her feedback of what would work for my facial structure and lifestyle. The wash was great and was accompanied by a little scalp massage. During the cut, I didn't feel like Dayna rushed at all. She took her time and did a fantastic job at the end! I got called up to Princeton when I wasn't planning to travel, and desperately NEEDED a bang trim, and desperately WANTED a facial. I called Copper River. Barbara trimmed my bangs TO PERFECTION and then, even though the facialist was off, offered to call her to see if she could come in later in the day and help me out. She did! So now I'm ready for my big meeting tomorrow AND more importantly, ready for my weekend away with my love, when I thought business travel was going to make me look like a haggard shaggy old lady. Went to Copper River for a cut and highlights this week after having been a loyal customer of Vidal Sassoon in NYC for the past several years. I had a wonderful experience at Copper River Salon and Spa in Princeton, NJ. Rosanna was my technician and my hair color is spectacular. The service is great. The salon is very comfortable and the space is friendly and spacious. I was happy to be back in a more private setting with the person doing my hair. Some salons don't realize the importance of this. I recommend Copper River as the place to go for great treatment, my color and cut are a step above what you may find elsewhere. read more

At the age of 55, I found myself feeling very old every time I looked in the mirror and saw my badly thinning hair. I went to Copper River Salon and spoke with the owner, Barbara about the possibility of hair extensions. I figured, why should extensions be just for young people who want longer hair; why not for older people who want thicker hair. She told me she could definitely help and went on to explain how the hair would be affixed to my own hair as well as the kinds of things I would need to know once I had hair extensions. I was good with everything I heard, so I made an appointment with Dayna at Copper River to get some new hair. Dayna used 3 different colors so the effect would look more natural. The extension hair they use is of the highest quality. It is real hair (not synthetic, plastic stuff) so it can be washed, dried, curled, straightened; anything you do with your own hair you can do with this hair. They also use the best method, cold fusion,to attach the hair. The transformation has been absolutely amazing. It looks and feels so natural and I feel ten years younger. I would highly recommend extensions for anyone in my situation, and I would highly recommend the friendly, helpful, knowledgeable people at Copper River Salon as the place to go. read more

Physically the place is lovely, the people pleasant. However, the place is usually empty which should have been a clue. Second, any of the stylists (e.g. Darby) who gave this salon its stars have moved on. What seems to be left is the owner and a recently promoted assistant. My color by the promoted assistant was blah and included a brown glaze I didn't order or want (but was forced to pay for) and left my hair with that drugstore Nice 'N Easy look. The cut left one side longer than the other with the right side sticking out. Two months later it's worse and the color has reverted to what I came in to correct. The cut/color together took a glacial 3 hours which is longer than some root canals and about as expensive. Total tab including tips all around: about $300. Maybe I would have done better with the owner but the odd, egoistic website blurb by Barb: " where I command a razor sharp mastery is precision cutting, " was oft-putting. (I thought statements of this type were reserved to Kim Jong Un and his dad...). One note: One day after my other not-so-positive review came a PR blitz of positive reviews popped up, seemingly to prop up the stars. read more

I have been going to this salon for 3+ years. Always feel very comfortable and well taken care of here. Love the environment, friendly stylists & chill music. I have long layered hair & am very particular about my cuts! If I could cut my own hair I would, but I always feel like I'm in good hands here. I was first getting my hair cut by Darby who I absolutely loved, but she moved away so I was recommended Andrea. Loved Andrea's cuts as well but sadly, she just moved! At my last cut with Andrea, she recommended I try Camrin & I am THRILLED with her cut. Camrin gave me exactly what I was looking for - tons of layers but keeping everything thick & flowing, no choppiness, not too thinned out. Totally loving it. Camrin took her time, listened to what I was asking for, was super thorough, and explained her methods as she went - which I completely appreciated. Very personable too, nice convo throughout service. Although being initially fearful of having a new stylist work with my hair, I couldn't be happier with the service & result!! read more
