She knows how to cut short, medium length, or long hair really well (and also knows a lot of framing and hair movement). It's super easy to set up and appointment online or over the phone and you can always find a slot that works with your schedule. I used nuvo for my wedding this past February. Christina Did my makeup for the wedding and I couldn't have been happier! She was professional courteous and on time! Everyone complimented me for days even afterwards about how beautiful it came out! I have been going to Nuvo for a few years now and Christina is the best! I just ask her to do whatever she thinks will look good on me and I feel like I just a major (positive) transformation. She is so good at figuring out what will suit a particular person from color to style. Absolutely amazing. She's 45 min away from me but I make it a point to go to her and just go locally sometimes when I need a quick trim or something basic. read more

From the reviews, Nuvo sounds like they do a great job. However, I have to say they lost my business before I even came in. I called to inquire about bridal updo's and makeup for my wedding. The girl who answered the phone had a very delayed response to any question that was asked. I found myself saying "hello?" about 3 times to make sure she was still there. She had no answers for me as far as pricing went. She didn't even know if they offered makeup services. I work for the spa industry. You are supposed to feel welcome, relaxed and confident that you will be taken care of. How could you possibly not train your receptionist to know these answers or to at least have a guide or brochure on hand to answer them? Or, like La Jolie in Princeton does it...be as helpful/inviting as you can AND give the contact info/email address of the person who handles wedding parties. Anyway, finally, the girl put me on the phone with someone who could help. Yes, this next woman had the answers, but she answered them so fast as if she didn't have the time. I felt as if I was being rushed of the phone. I hardly got the words "ok, thank you for your help" out before I heard her say "bye!" And hang up the phone. Very very rude. You could have done a great job for my wedding day, Nuvo, but you lost me at hello. I can't trust you to do my hair on the most important day if my life. You just lost the business from 8 girls. I decided to drop in last minute to Nuvo today for a simple haircut. They surprised me by having an immediate appointment available with Tara and even a $15 first timer discount. But that's where everything started going downhill. For starters, Tara seemed like your normal stylist who was nice and polite. I'm more or less used to getting chatted up by hair stylists because they understand that works wonders for their tips. However I found myself doing most of the talking, while Tara seemed completely uninterested. OK, maybe she's not in the mood, I get it, I'm an introvert anyway. No harm no foul. The only comment I heard from her was "Your hair is really long." I should have realized that was a passive aggressive statement of her expressing her annoyance that it would take extra time to get my hair cut done, instead of just an innocent comment to a customer. She proceeded to rake through my hair with a vengeance that I can only imagine inflicting on a 5 year old shag carpet that you've grown to hate cleaning. Now I have extremely thin and fragile hair, and I'm fairly certain she ripped out at least 10% just on the first go around. She had the gall to tell me to please "keep your head up" multiple times as this onslaught continued. After 5 minutes of this kind of treatment and getting good rakings on my ear and even right eye, it became very clear she did not give a flying woop about me. I will never go here again, and if you have thin, tangly, long hair and they assign you to Tara, run the other way. read more

I am an LA transplant to Princeton, NJ and I was so happy to find this salon. Whitney always does a fantastic job with my monthly color and cut. Her high standard is comparable to the much higher dollar place I frequented in LA. And big plus - and also a sign that this is a high quality salon - is they sell unite hair products which is really the best of all of them around. read more

Let me just start by saying I absolutely cannot stand my hair!!! Until now! Since going to NUVO lounge and finding Nicole I am now able to say I love my hair. Upon arrival I was very nervous and skeptical to try a new salon, but Nicole made me feel comfortable and confident. She suggested adding highlights to my dull hair to brighten my complexion and a a new style to compliment it. She gave me the perfect amount of highlights that gave a pretty glow and a new style to go with my haircut. She didn't cut too much, just enough. She is also incredibly sweet and professional! I had went to some expensive hair salon one day in hope of completely renovating my hair. They messed it up. In a panic I went to the closest place, which was Nuvo, and they worked wonders. They completely saved my hair and also they are truly the nicest people. Tara was so kind and did an excellent job. I can't say enough great things about Christina and Nuvo Beauty Lounge. Christina has been doing my hair for several years - cut, color, and highlights. She does an amazing job. I get so many compliments - on at least three occasions, I've had women stop me and take a picture of my hair to bring to their own stylist - I always give them Christina's business card! Christina is incredibly professional, friendly, and kind. She always takes the time to find out exactly what I want and pays so much attention to detail when doing my hair.
