The food here was awesome! We got the rugged northern burger with a side salad and the wings. Both were delicious. However, the service/wait was not. Our waitress was nice but we barely saw her. We waited 30 mins to be seated and then after ordering, we waited 40 mins for our food. We were told they were out of several items after we tried to order the tacos. I have to admit, I was a little upset being told they were out of tacos but when we left, we saw them being server to another customer. The beer was good and staff was nice but I'll also say it was SO cold and I asked for the fire to be started twice since we were seated right beside it and It never was. Once or twice a month I stop by Copper State for a couple of Beers and some take out perch dinners. There is always a friendly face at the bar to discuss your favorite Beers while you wait. We only came here in the morning for the coffee bar and it did not disappoint! I ordered a Latte with Almond milk and my boyfriend ordered a regular coffee. Both were fantastic! We also couldn't resist the tuxedo muffin. It was the freshest, most moist and delicious muffin I've ever had! Yes...I said moist I'm sorry. It was a chocolate chip muffin with cream cheese baked in. We were the only people there besides a small group having a meeting. We found a small corner to cozy up in while the sun was beaming through the windows. It had such a unique aesthetic and you can tell it's doing well for itself as a business. We also decided to look through the merchandise and I ended up with a super great hoodie (good quality) for the it being a little pricey. I needed to walk away with something local! I can't speak for the brewery aspect and food but if it's anything like their coffee and morning bites, I bet it's great! Definitely coming back next time we come up from Chicago. read more

This place used to have the best burgers in Green Bay. They were always juicy, fresh, and unique flavor profiles. The last burger I had there was severely over cooked (asked for medium/rare and it was well done) and the bun was burnt and almost stale. The beer was decent so no complaints there but this used to be our place for thick cut burgers. I'm thinking they have made cut backs and opted for a more processed burger meat that is smaller in size. Wonderful service but disappointed that our food was so over cooked and underwhelming. read more

Finally got here for dinner last night with the hubby. There was a bit of a wait, but it was organized and we were able to have drinks at the bar. Once seated, the food came fairly quick. It was SO good!! Amazing food! I had the Truffle Shuffle burger- unreal. Best burger I've ever had EVER. It was cooked to perfection too- medium rare. Yum. I had a few dirty gin martinis and the spouse had some beer tumblers. Great drinks, food and service! And their prices are very reasonable. We will be back for sure! read more

We visited Copper State Brewing for the first time last night, the atmosphere and feel was very authentic. Pretty basic menu, but food was really good and the selection of hand crafted beers offered were very good and enjoyable. The reason for the low mark is strictly do to the staffing. It seemed to take forever to get service before and during the meal, our server was very courteous but I feel had to many tables letting people waiting for service. read more

What a great place! We ordered two pizzas, Brussels sprouts, and pretzel bites. And of course we had beer to wash it down. Both pizzas were excellent, but the mac and cheese pizza was out of this world! And the brussel sprouts were amazing! They exceeded my wildest expectations of how a brussel sprout should taste. I tried seven (yes, 7) different beers during my visit. All were excellent, but I especially enjoyed the lager. If you're in the area, give Copper State a try. This used to be a favorite place for my wife and I to go, but the last two times of strange and poor service has turned us off to the point we wont go back. Too many great restaurants in GB to deal with poor service. 1st time we go to get some cocktails and it's about 35 minutes before closing time. Go to bar and the bartender was doing everything possible not to serve us. And yes, he saw the 4 of us come in. Too busy sweeping and cleaning up to serve customers. We were like a mirage, literally. Simply the service sucked. We left and went to a place that actually wanted our business. 2nd time was on a Sat and I called at 3:45P to ask if they had availability for dinner for 2. Hostess said it's not that busy right. So, we arrive at 4P and am told that they don't seat for dinner until 4:30P. Couldn't have said that over the phone, and then when I said I specifically called and asked about dinner right now we still didn't get seated. Who does that. Instead we go to a crowded bar with no seating, and every table around the bar says reserved. So we get a drink in sit in a waiting area by the gift shop. Then we get seated and it takes 40 min to get a hamburger and fries which my wife and I both ordered. Not sure what has happened, but good food doesn't go far when the front of the house has mediocre and inconsistent customer service. read more

First time at Copper State, but not the best experience. Arrived at 5:45, seated right away, but took a bit before someone came to our table to take drink order. Ordered our food just after 6, food arrived at our table around 7:15pm. I ordered grilled cheese and beer mac and cheese as my side, both were room temp. Cheese on my sandwich had been melty at some point, but was back to solid cheese. Bread was soggy, not crispy like a grilled sandwich should be. I asked for salt and pepper, got a salt shaker, but pepper was brought out to me a while later in a small little cup from the kitchen. My husbands chicken wrap was good he said, but side salad was served right in the basket with the wrap. Waitress told us the kitchen was backed up around 7, and that their kitchen was small and not able to handle a lot. We would have been ok with it being slow if we had not seen others come in and get food before us. Beers were good, so we'll come back for drinks sometime, but likley not to dine in. As we were paying our bill, waitress said we should plan on 2 hours minimum on a weekend night. read more

The food was decent and our server, Dustin, was great and very knowledgeable about the beer and food. The worst part was that while we were eating there were kids (who I would assume parent's own the place?) kept running around and yelling to the point of annoying. I usually can handle well-mannered kids at a restaurant who are a bit loud, but this was to the point of no return. This was also at 1:00 on a week day. Shouldn't they be in school? On the way out I grabbed a coffee, which was excellent, but the kids were also behind the coffee bar. I had lunch here today and it a was very odd, no service type of experience. We sat outside until our friends were all there and then went in to order. Was given a cup of water and silverware after placing my order and paying inside, and I carried them out to my table. Then when my pizza came out, I had to ask for a plate (she just assumed we'd eat it off the hot pan?) and then the server never came back. No water refills or how's it going or do you need a box. Copper State is the cool new place to check out in Green Bay. Taking over the old Hinterland building, they continued the tradition of brewing beer, and also brought their skills for coffee (same owner as Copper Rock in Appleton). I've only had their beer and I have enjoyed them all. With around 10 beers I tasted the Bare Brick IPA, the double IPA, Platinum coffee blonde ale (on Nitro!), Wake Up Call Black Coffee IPA, and Oktoberfest. Kudos to them bringing their knowledge of coffee to their beer. Inside it has the same kind of atmosphere when Hinterland was there...kind of upscale but not super classy. What I love is what they did on the first floor as what used to be the bar for Hinterland is the coffee bar. Opposite to that is a huge, gorgeous bar. The upstairs looked pretty similar. Another plus is the outdoor area in front of the brewery. Plenty of picnic tables to sit and enjoy a beer on a summer's day. I've heard you can get breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Wow, what a nice looking menu. We had the meat and cheese plate which was a nice presentation of 3 cheeses and 3 meats with pickled onions and jalapenos plus a number of sauces. My friend had the truffle burger which was absolutely fantastic. One of the best burgers I've ever tasted and I've had many. I had the oven fired pizza which was also very good but have to say I've had better. If only more places would butter and season the crust. Anyway, the beers are good, there is a full bar and there are a dozen things on the menu I'd like to try the next time I'm in town. Definitely going back. read more

Really good coffee with 50 cent refills. Went with a group... all egg sandwiches were declared good. Some with super flaky optional croissant. If you have your heart set on quiche call ahead to see if it's on the daily menu. They also have fresh scones,muffins, raw and baked bars, cinnamon rolls... I had the best soup and bread (wood-something) and the rotating gourmet popcorn is fun delicious! Have frequented this place but each time the service has become less and less inviting. Waited forever, gave our number and hosted repeated it back yet they never got it and they were yelling for our name downstairs but never yelled up stairs. We got our table by luck. Bartender upstairs literally told my fiancé to hurry up and choose a beer. Ordered the Brussels sprouts as an app, they were out. Ordered the fermented veggies, which was cabbage and vinegar - told the waitress they were out fave and she said "yeah they are hit and miss", ordered burger and fries, they were OUT OF FRIES lol on a Friday night. Ordered a salad as my side instead, they were out of ranch, so Mac and cheese was my side, the Mac and cheese was very good and the burger was REALLY good. I enjoy the craft beer here. Hit or Miss on the food but good environment. It was my first time tasting the food which did not excite me much. I had one of the burgers...I don't remember which one but it was Rugged North medium rare with fries for the side. The fries were good. My friend had the Brussels sport appetizer which was delicious. My husband had the pretzel which was huge and good. The 3 dipping sauce were decent. I will be returning to taste more food. I don't know if you can eat upstairs as well but we didn't have to wait long for a table of 6 without reservations. Good place. read more
