I took my daughter to Copper State Brewing for lunch today, to catch up on much needed mother-daughter time. We had the delightful Krynn wait on us -- bartender/waitress -- as we ate in the bar area. She introduced me to a new drink I had never heard of before (and I bartended my way through college and beyond!). She mixed cranberry juice into an orange-flavored beer that I don't think is part of the regular menu . . . MIND BLOWN!! I don't know if Krynn came up with that on her own, but if she did, it was pure genius!! This was also the best service we have had in many visits to CSB. I will be back just to have that drink again! The turkey sandwich and mac 'n cheese pizza were great. Copper State never disappoints!! read more

We ordered the berry salad and ordered it with no feta my friend is vegan and got sick after eating this I ordered the Mac and cheese with my sandwich. The sandwich was great but the Mac and cheese was bland and barely came out of the cup it was so dry. On top of all of it we found a hair in the salad. read more

Like good craft beers? Look no further! Some of the most delicious beer around, especially their nitro porters. Check out their Chocolate Coffee Peanut Butter Nitro Porter. I thought for sure that was too many flavors for one beer, but I was wrong. They all complement each other very well and the beer is sooooi smooth. Back to the business itself, there is plenty of seating throughout their multiple floors with two separate bars to choose from. I've only had the food once, which was beer battered perch on a Friday, and I really liked it. It came paired with bread, coleslaw, and potato. Always a great place every time I stop. read more

Let's get to the real star though... if you're looking for a legit burger go with the Rugged North Burger. It features a sunny side up egg and the best bun in Green Bay. I haven't eaten every bun in Green Bay, but I assure you that the folks at Copper State aren't exaggerating -- it's a damn good bun. I paired the burger with a side of Mac n Cheese which was excellent. However, if you're concerned about your sodium intake, this Mac n Cheese is pretty salty, so maybe ask to hold the saltines -- even though that is one of the best parts of the dish. Also, if you like coffee and beer they have an interesting Coffee Blonde Ale that is totally worth it. read more

I've been here six times. Good food, service can be slow. They do have great beer. They have special events outside on the patio, weather permitting-which are fun. Not usually a wait time. Bartenders are knowledgeable and the beer list is always up to date. read more

Had been here before to drink but decided to have dinner this time. They told us an hour long wait so we grabbed a beer and went upstairs and sat on the couch. Probably sat 30-45 minutes which wasn't bad at all! Had the tenderloin medallions that were seriously phenomenal. Not the biggest fan of blue cheese but it paired so well with the dish. We used to love coming here. The original brussel sprouts, shrimp and grits .... amazing. Now those items are gone and we were told that the brussel sprouts were too hard to do so they took them off the menu. Meals tonight were not prepared as expected and when given the "I'm sorry" dessert, the nuts were rancid. So sad our go-to has changed so much. read more

My hubby and I are frequent patrons of this brewery and while we often sit at the bar and have a beer and an appetizer we have tried many of their other dishes and haven't been disappointed yet! As someone else posted, their tacos are to die for! I also highly recommend the Rocambolesco pizza. Can the food service seem a little slow at times? Yes, but I'm here for good food not fast food so I'm okay with waiting. The service at the bar is excellent and the bartenders are very knowledgable about the beers that they serve. The food here is absolutely amazing. I got a peanut butter burger which was new to me but so good. I tried two of their beers as well and even the porter which I'm not normally a fan of, was pretty great. The French fries and chips were enough to bring my fiancé and us back by themselves. Small negatives: our waitress seemed new and anxious and rarely checked on us, I may have bought another beer if she attended to us more. I almost didn't even buy my second. Also, where my fiancé and I were seated was extremely cold due to a draft coming in through the wall. Overall absolutely awesome food, cool scenery, just the small things. The setting here is nice. The service is non-existent. We were shown our table and did not see a server for 15 minutes. Luckily we were all engaged in terrific conversation. After a while it became a game to see how long it would take not only to get served, but how long the food would take. Then our young stud of a server comes over and welcomes us, talking about how great it was that we were here for the first time. He tried to get away after getting our drink orders but we insisted on ordering our sandwiches. The food was good, but 30 more minutes - lol. Worst service ever! My husband and I finally had a date night away from our kids and were excited to eat a meal in peace. We arrived at 4:45 pm and ordered our food and were still waiting at 5:50 pm for our food to arrive. We ended up leaving at 6 pm and never got our food. So disappointing. We are in town for the night and this brewery was right next to our hotel so we stopped in for a beer. The girls next to us ordered pizza and it looked amazing so we stayed and ordered the Thai pizza and it was amazing! Flavors were all there and delicious. My guy ordered the lager and I ordered the irish red and was extremely satisfied with the flavors in the beer. Our bartender was Christian and he was super attentive and friendly. It is my first time in Green Bay and wow this place did not disappoint. I ordered the Cheesehead burger and it was DELICIOUS- it had cheddar cheese, beer Mac&cheese, cheese curd crumbles & beer cheese. I RECOMMEND 10/10. I also tried the 4 beer sampler with the pomegranate beer, lager, ipa & peanut butter chocolate... I LOVED ALL OF THEM. But what made the experience the best was our server Kelsey- she went above and beyond to recommend, to make sure we had everything, constantly checking up on us, one of the best servers I have ever had. Visited Copper State last weekend for the first time- and I was not disappointed. I came for lunch and did not venture to try the plethora of beer, however I was impressed with the coffee drink selection. I was pleasantly surprised with the variety of mochas and lattes. However what really impressed me was the food! My mom and I split the BLT and Grilled Cheesehead sandwich, which were much better than expected given the staple recipes. We were there at 4:00 on Saturday 4/21. Having not been there before, we were excited. It was not very busy, but we were told we couldn't have any flights of beer because it was too busy. A rude waitress ran over and put a reserved sign on the table where we were sitting. She then proceeded to do that to many tables. Being turned off by the service, we went across the street to Titletown which was much busier but better customer service with flights galore. This was a bummer as I really wanted to try more beer at Copper State! I'll give it another go because I heard their food was good. I'm hoping for a completely different experience next time. read more

My husband and I ate here prior to a downtown Green Bay Concert. We enjoyed warm pretzel bites with the sauces and a wood fired pizza. All were great. The craft beer was very good. I had something called Nitro. It was a porter. My husband had the German beer all good. We will be back. I gave a three star because the young man that waited on us was pretty attentive to a specific table in which he may have known the people. That is fine, but could be fine tuned in the future to spread the service to a few more tables. read more

A couple thoughts... 1. A promising beer selection, but nothing I loved. However, I have a specific palate that really only loves dark and angry beers. I had high hopes for their maple stout, but it wasn't quite angry enough for me. I can still appreciate the ambitious tap list and bet they will continue to improve on their offering. 2. The inside has a much better feel than the old Hinterland. They have a done a great job with the space. Our service was average and the meals were nothing special. 3 of us tried their large plates which are priced very similarly to the large plates at Bleu Bistro; however, that's where the similarities end. The salmon and tenderloin medallions were both undercooked. The pan roasted chicken was very tasty, but the hash plates over the sweet potatoes ruined them. We would like to come back to try their medium plates, but will stay away from the large dishes. read more

I have been to Copper State a few times previously to have a beer in their beer garden. The garden is a nice place to enjoy a beer on a summer night. I was finally able to try the restaurant portion this past week. I was excited to try it, but it wasn't the experience I was hoping for. Don't get me wrong, the food was excellent. I had the perch plate. It was very delicious. My sister got the mac n cheese pizza, which she really enjoyed. They have good craft beer as well - lots of options. The downfalls is this place is the service and the layout of tables. The service was not very good. We had to ask a worker walking past us where our waitress went as we hadn't seen her in 20 minutes while waiting to place our order. She wasn't very attentive. The layout of the place is sort of odd. I made reservations for 5 of us a few days before our outing, and they placed us at a weird long table in the bar area. It was right next to the door where the servers come out, so there was a lot of movement around us. It just seemed like odd placement when I had made reservations ahead of time. Overall, I enjoyed the food, but the service kind of ruined it for me. I'm not sure how quickly I'll rush back, but I probably will go back for the perch at some point. read more
