My girls loved their Mac and cheese and the hot chocolate with extra whip! I do wish they had more breakfast food during the week, but they don't open until 11am. So understandably they don't offer breakfast then. I was told they offer breakfast on the weekends. I felt their food was priced fairly! Definitely a great spot to visit! read more

I absolutely love copper barn, it's become a frequent for brunch in Middletown for me lately. I discovered it a couple of months ago. My girlfriend and I were looking for something close to home and not in the city, and we found copper barn. Immediately we fell in love with the brunch offerings, then we discovered they have different specials weekly, and even holiday themed items pending on the season and upcoming holiday. The ambiance is calm, quiet, and feels like home. The cook is always nice, and takes pride in the delicious meals prepared. Each time I go, I wish my stomach and wallet were big enough to try out the entire menu. I definitely recommend copperbarn, I've had the barnyard breakfast, as well as the Cinnabon pancakes, lemon ricotta pancakes, their steak, wings. I love them all, also right now, you can check out their lovely fall mimosas and sangrias! I would rate 5 stars, the only thing that can be better is the wait time for being serviced initially after being seated. I've been multiple times, the service is initially slow when starting with your drinks, but after your foods ordered, things move a bit better. Stopped in tonight for coffee and dessert while passing through Middletown. What a great little find! Cute atmosphere with alpine ski lodge vibes and absolutely delicious desserts. The food and our waitress where great but there was all this confusion over seating. My sister and her husband ended up being earlier and we asked move to a four top and they refused but they had the space. We asked our waitress because a four top was open next to us the whole time we were there. and they said they weren't seating anyone because of the kitchen back up. But my sister my her husband weren't told that . The hostess told them they had a five top and couldn't put us together. it's just like is that true , was the fact they are mix raced couple a factor? So glad my husband and I came here for lunch today. From our server to the food we had an overall great experience. I started with the turmeric chai latte and it was so good. We had the avocado egg rolls and 1/2 sandwich with soups and it was all delicious. Even what seemed like a simple grilled chicken and blt sandwich was made so well with fresh ingredients. 2.5 stars because this place is average at best. Upon entering the host was nowhere to be found. When we were greeted she seemed to be overwhelmed which was confusing because the place wasn't busy. She assisted guests to their table that were waiting at the coffee bar and guests came in behind us that ended up getting greeted and offered a table before us, which they politely redirected the host and had us seated before them. We witnessed the employees arguing amongst each other on the floor. We came in hungry and the menu looked good. Our food came out pretty quick. The Barnyard breakfast sampler was really good but the French toast was honestly extremely underwhelming. Probably the worst French toast I've had anywhere which was really disappointing. My GF ordered the Brioche French Toast and hers was also very underwhelming. The bread looked like cheap dry toast. Very small portions and the brown sugar wasn't caramelized. Overall the service wasn't great, the food was Mid and very expensive for what it was. I would prefer any diner instead. I think they need some leadership and better French toast and maybe slightly forgiving on some prices of certain items. read more

Let me just say that copper barn is an absolute gem in what seems like a super desolate upstate New York. My husband and I went to visit upstate New York earlier this year and had a fantastic time. Copper barn truly was one of the highlights of our trips. Their brunch menu is, perfect - they have the best blend of savory and sweet. I tried their pancakes and still dream about them. My husband ordered the steak sandwich and the meat was so beautifully seasoned and tender. Their coffee's are so good. Our waitress was so kind and helpful and helping us decide what we wanted. Such a cute place! We swung by here on the way out of town the day after a wedding for a quick lunch. I wasn't feeling a huge meal so I went for some appetizers and I think I made the right choice! Avocado eggrolls were exactly what I needed and the dipping sauce they come with is perfect for something savory without feeling too heavy. The side of sweet potato fries was not exactly what I was expecting but I'm (in hindsight) grateful that they were a healthier alternative version! I absolutely love the Sunday brunch here! I love the selection coffee, I love the service and most of all I love the food! I usually get the quiche of the day which come in a good serving size with a cup of their house coffee. Both are good quality and have taste wonderful! This time I got the Copperbarn burger. Which was definitely not their speciality. The burger sounded real good on paper but it lacked seasoning and was a tad bit over cooked. This is my third time here. The first time was like two years ago and the food was crap. The second time was for happy hour and i had the avocado egg rolls which were really delicious. Today we had brunch. I was really in the mood for sweet and savory and this checked all the boxes. I had stuffed brioche with a side of over easy eggs and Turkey bacon and a decaf latte. He had the same but instead of a latte he had iced coffee and mimosa. Im glad we gave them another chance. They have tightened up their menu. The first breakfast I had here was so bland and sad. Food/ ingredients are fresh and tasteful. The coffee is above average and along with the service that U receive. I still gotta try lunch menu and drinks but they do have tap beer and liquor so u can pick ur poison and the lunch menu looks just as tasteful at breakfast. In addition The place is cozy with a fire place and enough seating not to feel rushed when seated. Parking is a little limit. On current days they have live music, and if not I find music that they play to be tasteful. The place is relatively new with its 1 year anniversary coming up, if I'm not mistaken. What a lovely and relaxing dinner. Our server Shanelle is top notch. Paced the entire meal perfectly. The food is fresh and not mass produced. It was not a rowdy or noisy place early on a Friday night. I loved the music they were playing, Carpenters, Mama's and Papa's, Hall and Oates, etc. The mixed green salad was a delight, lettuce was varied and crunchy with a fabulous light mustardy dressing, I had a yummy generous smoked salmon sandwich on a bagel and it was worth every penny. My dining companions had dessert cakes but I opted for a delicious bold cup of coffee called Gotham and it did not disappoint. This would be a five star review but misses the mark for two things. I was supposed to get quinoa tabouli with my dinner and I received plain quinoa instead. My husband was promised an olive tapenade on his Caesar salad and it was just plain old Caesar dressing. Loved the vibe this place had. I went for a early dinner to meet up with friends around 5 pm, and the place was not too busy so we were able to get seated and served pretty quickly. I noticed they were doing all the proper Covid protections, masks, distance etc.. and was happy to see that and feel as safe as possible. The server was very attentive but not too much to make it annoying. We ordered a round of drinks.. I chose the red sangria and it was so good I had to have 2. lol. It came in a nice size glass with a good amount of fruit. For my meal, I ordered avocado rolls, they came with a spicy sweet chili sauce that was so good I wanted to dip everything in it. I also had the veggie quesadilla. These were the best thing I tried all night. They came with sour cream and they were filled with spinach and other vegetables. I got full off everything but these were so good I wanted to eat more. (I didnt but I wanted to lol) and last but certainly least... I was excited to see yucca fries on the menu. I'd had them at a mexican restaurant in VA and they were delicious there. BUT... not these ones here. They were just not seasoned and were sadly bland. I think I ate like 4 or 5 and gave up. I couldnt even save them with that finger licking sweet chili sauce. Needless to say I did enjoy everything else about this place, and would for sure go back again. We were driving along Rt 17 and we needed to take a pit stop. I know there are a lot of chain restaurants in Middletown and we weren't looking for that. We found Copperbarn on Yelp, so we decided to give it a shot. What a beer list!! Finback, Equilibrium, Rushing Duck, Singlecutt...and Fresh! This made us very happy. For this, I'm giving it a high rating. The food was good. Nothing spectacular but it did the trick. My fish tacos were a bit under seasoned. My wife enjoyed her chicken wrap. Did I mention the beer selection! The food was an after-thought. It almost got in the way. We were geeking out on the beer. Our server was awesome. She made us feel welcomed. She was on top of everything. The restaurant has only been open for 3 weeks. This place is only going to get better. Rooting for them. I love this place! It's Hot and new!! They have a ton of great beer selections.. they have an awesome barista with great high quality coffee. The food is excellent. And even their "small plate" of fish tacos was a huge portion! The steak and cheddar panini was excellent!! And their quinoa tabouli salad is wayyyy better than you think it will be! Sooo good; refreshing, and tasty!! And I'm sure everything else is really great too! It came with potatoes that were PERFECTLY cooked to a golden brown color with crispy edges. SOOOOOO much better than hash browns. My cousin had the crabmeat, avocado and mango napoleon - too delicious! I went home with cinnamon crunch coffee cake - again excellent! BTW, atmosphere galore! I stopped here for brunch one morning with a friend and we were the only people there. The atmosphere is so quaint, with a wood fire and snowy ski lodge feeling. Our waitress was beyond nice, making sure we had everything we needed. I ordered the house-cured salmon on a bagel, piled high with smoked salmon, tomatoes, and savory capers. My friend ordered the California Club, which was stacked with fresh sliced turkey breast, avocados, tomatoes, and eggs. As our side dishes we both got the garden chickpea salad, which was an amazing blend of flavors, textures, and colors. Came to Copperbarn on a Saturday night and was happy with my experience. The staff was very attentive/friendly and there was no wait to be seated. There is plenty of seating available outside, inside, by the bar, and even on the second floor. I would say the sign outside needs some lighting or a different color scheme because you can't tell what it says. Now for the experience, they have an extensive beer and wine menu which is great. Typical prices for drinks. As an appetizer, we had the avocado rolls which were very tasty especially with the sweet chilly sauce. Only down-side was the fact that it was $10 for two rolls that were cut in half. I'd say that's a little pricey - maybe three rolls would be more worth the price. As for the main dish, we had the burger which was cooked to our liking. The accompanying french fries were extra crispy and savory. For $12 definitely worth it. It took a while to receive our food, but it was definitely worth it since you can tell it was made fresh. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and the staff gets an A+. read more
