Really cool place to bowl. They host a lot of tournaments too. I like the lanes here and they have a few arcade games, a diner, and a bowling shop. The facility is always clean and rarely do I ever have issues with the lanes. They also offer free bowling games for kids during the summer.

    Bowling alley.

It's a good bowling alley, it has been in the area for decades and is an OG of copperfield. Been going here since a kid and it has definitely kept up with the times, lanes are good and the facility is nice. It's not a (Main Event/Time Square) but it's pretty good for an hour or two of bowling with the family or spouse.

I could easily have a lot against bowling. With the previously worn shoes, the smoky bar areas, and the enthusiasts passing judgment on you every time you toss the ball in the gutter, one has to wonder what the appeal is here. Even though I am not a skilled bowler, somehow I like it. I love the sound of the pins being knocked over. I marvel at the little computers that keep score for you. I adore the way the ball disappears and then returns to you after you throw it in a less than impressive way. When I want the simple pleasure of bowling, I go to Copperfield Bowl. I'm really fairly bad and not competitive enough to care but I have fun trying to knock the pins down. It is substantially more entertaining when I pretend I know what I am doing and start to beat the other bowlers in my group (this never lasts long). Copperfield Bowl is open for my pleasure 7 days a week and they keep late night hours so you can bowl in your funky shoes well into the night. For fun, they even offer adult birthday packages as well as children's. Personally, I think this would be a great time - you grab your greasy food and beer from The Grill and bowl until they kick you out. I'll never be a skilled bowler. I'll never own my own ball or shoes or be on a team. But, when I have the urge to throw a sparkly pink ball down the lanes for a few hours, you'll find me at Copperfield Bowl.

What the what Free Free Free BOWLING .yes indeed! Two free games for the kiddos oh yea. Bumpers for the lanes lets the kids rack up points . The playlist is a little strange but hey FREE BOWLING WE will listen to anything. The bowling alley is just that an alley of lanes nothing special nothing fancy. Who needs all that puff when you can bowl for free till Aug 2 . Let's keep the ball rolling

Enjoyable time. Okay accomodations. Pricing could be better at the snack bar, and smoking should be banned indoors EVERYWHERE!!!

The bowling alley is sort of outdated as well but my husband says the lanes are well kept and well oiled coming from an avid bowler.

Hard, hard work: 100 push ups, 100 sit ups, 100 squats, 10k run. Every SINGLE DAY. When I became tired, I relied on the plentiful recreational equipment: table tennis tables, pool tables, basketball courts (indoors and outdoors), racquetball courts, and swimming pools. Inspired by Antonio Banderas, I also enrolled in LPAP dance classes and unleashed my sexy side. But I never stopped working out. NEVER. When my legs got tired, the Rec had hot showers and gym mats for stretching. Water fountains, vending machines, and even kombucha are readily available for recovery. In the summer months, the pools are a great reprieve. And as always, the equipment, towels, and facilities are squeaky clean. If you come to the Rec every day for four years, I guarantee you will see results. You may go bald. You may become a superhero. You might get your Nod bod. And you will certainly feel infinitely healthier than all the people couch potato-ing in their dorms.

I can attest that there are many heavy objects available for lifting in the weight room (but actually, really nice machines/barbells/dumbbells/two squat racks). Note- it's definitely the most busy here before mealtimes, and especially immediately before and after dinner. Try to come in the morning, early afternoon, or during mealtimes if you're like me and don't like people :)

The workers are always friendly, and the gym has a lot of options to be active: basketball courts, tennis courts, swimming pool, cardio area (stationary bikes, row machines, stair masters, treadmills, elliptical, etc), weight machines, free weights, stretching mat as well as rack, and a group fitness studio that doubles as an area for stretching and floor exercises. There's a locker room with showers too. The hours are still okay-- open early on the weekdays at 5:30 AM and 8 AM on Saturdays but not until 10 AM on Sundays. They close at 10 PM on weekdays and 8 PM (the bummer!) on weekends. A few things to note: - open to anyone who works (or trains/studies) in the med center, just bring your badge - the pool is heated (great for winter, but you don't have that ice cold refreshing pool to jump into in the summer!). No lifeguard, but there's a super shallow end and the majority of the lanes are 4' 7" or so deep. - bring your own lock for the lockers (they have free daily use or you can rent for longer term with a fee) - they close for holidays during the year and for a week or so in November and in December the winter holidays This place is still my respite and place to go to blow off some steam or stay fit-- I like how I can swim, run, and do weights conveniently in one visit if I wanted to. Will continue going here to workout!

Its clean, shiny, modern design allows a lot of natural light come through the windows. There are rows and rows of cardio and weight machines, free weights, several benches, maybe 3 squat racks on the first floor. There are also several basketball courts that double-times as pickleball and table tennis areas too. Head to the second floor for an indoor track separated with jogging/walking lanes that tour around more cardio equipment + an area to stretch and do free weights/floor exercises. Fans of group fitness classes will have to pay for semester passes, but they have endless choices of yoga, circuit training, cycling, pilates, bootcamps, and even tai chi classes, plus those specifically for older adults! Members of the community (non-students) can also nab a membership here too, so it's a great choice with an amazing price to stay active! My first visit with my dad today really impressed me and I can't wait to come back for another workout next time I'm in the area :D The 2nd floor is definitely quieter if you like your space (and colder!). They keep it well ventilated with the AC and Big A** Fans (that's a real brand, I'm not joking). Views through the large windows are great with fields in the back (you can spot families of deer wandering around!) or big blue skies in the front if weather permits. Lots of free lockers with locks to store your stuff. The restrooms are clean, and the lockers have several showers too. There's apparently a small sweat towel service! And you can check-out equipment like basketballs at the front desk too. Personal training is also available. There is also a grab and go cafe at the first level and tongs of nooks and places to sit and study. There's no dearth of plugs either. Free public wi-fi. You can find indoor study rooms and outdoor patios with tables on the second level to hang out and work on things. *dreamy sigh* Downsides I can think of: no swimming pool. And they close really early Friday-Sunday at 6 pm~ UH Clear Lake students get free membership, but otherwise community members can start working out for $25 monthly. A parking badge/slip is $5 monthly (giant parking lot). Only 2 guest passes per semester. If you're just in the area, a day pass is just $5-- check it out! ^-^b
