Decent bowling alley for family fun. Older facility with prices to match making it a decent no frills value. A fair amount of lanes that you pay by the hour. Casual g un for a wide variety of ages. Much like other alleys you operate the lane yourself. Once you get your shoes you're basically on your own. Sometimes the lane was glitchy. We tried to call for service but after waiting a while we just reset the lane and skipped turns to keep playing. Service was minimally present and minimal level of interaction. The food was ok. The pizza was pretty good. I wouldn't get chips and queso again. The queso was watery reminiscent of school cafeteria queso. The salsa was also bland.

Old school style bowling lanes, great for kids birthday party & friends gathering. There's a mini arcade in the bowling lane, some of the games work, some doesn't. Restroom could use a little work with restocking papers.

I pass by this bowling alley often and have always wondered what it's like inside. On a Monday evening, around 5:30, we decided to check it out with some friends. At first, we had the place to ourselves, but by 6:30, it was packed with what seemed like professional bowlers! The lady who gave us our shoes was super friendly and joked with us as we struggled to find the right size--it took three tries because the sizes weren't true to fit. Despite that minor hiccup, we had a great time! Honestly, I think I prefer this type of simple, traditional bowling alley compared to the big, fancy ones. Although I didn't eat or drink, the bar seemed lively, and people appeared to be enjoying themselves.

If you're looking for an old-school bowling alley with food and drinks, then Del Mar is the place to go ! It's so refreshing to go to a place that has touches of the classic place it used to be. It's definitely been updated but it still has a lot of the charm of an old school bowling alley. Parking: There's plenty of parking but on a Saturday night the lot (and the lanes) were quite full. Bowling: Their bowling shoes have seen better days (at least my 6.5s had) bur everything else was great. They have updated screens with a variety of bowling games to add some flair to the classic. They have plenty of ball weight options as well. There are also plenty of screens around the lanes and they did play some sports channels for people interested in that. You can book time in 30 min increments which is perfect for adding an extra game Other things: - they do have a full bar and restaurant with its own seating, but they bring things to your lane as well. - there is a small arcade area - they sell bowling socks if you forget yours

We have been coming to this place off and on for ba few years, the staff is friendly and the food from Brass Money is good from the perspective its a bowling alley. Over the last year they have been making upgrades, for instance if you download the app "OpenLane" you can book lanes and advance and avoid wait times during peek hours. Its a great family owned business. The pro shop inside is one of the best in the area.

It's been a hot minute since I've been bowling...maybe 10 years? I basically grew up in a bowling alley as a kid cause my parents were in bowling leagues. Mostly played arcades (like The Simpsons game lol) and made friends with other league kids. My dad still is and is up there winning league championships 4x in a row with his team. Am I good? Ehh. Lol. My sister is better. I was a little rusty but went from 106 and improved each game. 151 was my highest game. Could be better with more practice. We tried to go here as planned a few days after the crazy storm/tornado and found that it was closed, especially since this area was hit badly and still had no power. A lot of Centerpoint trucks were parked all over the lot. We paid for 1.5 hours and were gifted an extra hour while in the middle of our games. I happen to know people. I don't really remember what pricing was for bowling cause we usually go to AMF, but this seemed steep. I'm sure the cost would be comparable if divided by a group. There was only two of us, so we got to take our time and fit in 5 games. Short break going to the bar to order drinks. I had the Austin Eastciders pineapple on draft. We took our drinks back to our lane. We didn't try the food since we were going out to dinner after. I love how organized this bowling alley is. There's a closed off bar area for food and drinks, a pro shop, and an arcade area. Restrooms are clean, as well. Bowling balls are organized by weight with the least starting from the left side of the bowling alley. Our lane was glitchy and didn't restart, so we asked to move over to another lane which wasn't an issue. We didn't want to be close to a lane with young teens, no offense. The seating is comfy like booth seating, and the floors are checkered which gave a diner, retro vibe. Much more comfortable than plastic seats at most bowling alleys. I prefer real bowling lanes than synthetic lanes. It was a little distracting when the screens came down that aired the same shows as the TVs and when the lights turned off with colorful lasers flashing on the floor. I follow the lane arrows on where to throw, and I felt like I had to concentrate more. Overall, we had so much fun and will definitely be back especially since this is the closest to us that's a legit bowling alley with great, friendly staff. Coming here was so nostalgic of my childhood.

We came here for a celebration with the kiddos. Bowling was fun. The margaritas were okay. We ended up giving the bartender detail instructions on how to make our margaritas and it was a little better. The Pac-Man machine took our $20 and the manager only refunded us $11. The air hockey machine took our $1 as well. We didn't complain we just knew not to put our money in anymore games.

We were able to make reservations for an event on Saturday from 6:30 to 8:30pm. We're glad we did because when we came in, there was a wait. With the event, we got 2 lanes for 2 hours, 2 pizzas and 2 starters and unlimited refills on drinks. I thought the pricing was reasonable, about $36 per person (8 of us). It was a fun night. The pizza isn't the best pizza in the world, but was okay for bowling alley food. Service was good. We had someone check in on us and give us refills. Bowling shoes came with the reservation and all the employees were kind. Side note: bathroom was a bit gross...

To be honest, I didn't have high expectations for this place because of its location. I expected it to be a dilapidated bowling alley and I'm happy to say my expectations were exceeded. The establishment is very clean and they have hand sanitizers everywhere. We had the most fun on a Friday night that we've had in a while. Come before 7pm on a Friday so you don't have to wait for a lane. Optimum cost efficiency would be to bring a group of 6. The restaurant that it's connected to has good deals on food and drinks. We ordered a pitcher of Corona for $20.

Had a fun night of sisterly bonding with my sorority sisters for a fun night of bowling. The event was well organized and coordinated with the staff at Del Mar. Our lanes were reserved upon arrival, we were able to grab our shoes and select our bowling ball. Once we began bowling the beverages and food began being served. It was very organized and streamlined. Everyone had a great time. This was a great place to come with a large group. It still had a very intimate feel but didn't feel too crowded. You have a bar area if you want adult beverages as well.

The…read moreconcept was a compelling one: an event space and family destination built around bowling, anchored by an all-you-can-eat weekend brunch. Simple in theory, brilliant in execution, and one that no other venue has successfully replicated since. The space was gorgeous. The ample dining space, dedicated private rooms, and gourmet bowling alleys across the place was a sight to behold. This experience cost a pretty penny, which is partially what doomed them in the first place. As a brunch destination, it was a hot mess, largely due to their staff which had a hard time to keep up with the demand. The waits without reservations were brutal and even ones that arrived with reservations would still have to wait if the seating arrangements weren't done properly. The food itself was solid, featuring premium items like prime rib and mean herb roasted chicken, along with smoked salmon, shrimp cocktails, and even a dessert fondue. Throw in a few pasta + pasta dishes for the kids, along with an omelette station. At $35, this was a good value. The bowling experience was always their best asset. Lane reservations were a cinch, and the bowling balls were always quality. The area was well maintained and had a decent amount of seating for groups. Shoes and socks were always included in the $20 per person/per hour deal, which for River Oaks standards is on par price wise. While they live on in other cities, I do think Pinstripes was onto something in Houston. While it may not have fully materialized into what they envisioned, it did lay enough ground work to see the possibility was there. Here's hoping they find another home in H-Town in the near future.

The experience I had with their food was more than enough. The parmesan fries were good. Service: The bowling area was packed, so service was also so so! A little slow for our liking! I've been there with a group of adults and also with a group of kids, and just note that while it's totally fine (and very fun!) for kids, it's probably better for adults--there's no kid security check-in at the front, and the building is very big, with lots of games. We ordered a pizza from a touchscreen by a food window, and the pizza was actually pretty good, much better than I was expecting at an arcade. The downside was that, in the lunch rush, it took 30-40 minutes for that one pizza to come out, though you could tell they were individually making each item in the big pizza oven. If you want drinks, you separately order those at the front, near where you check in, which is a little odd to have two separate food/drink ordering spots. When we walked in, we paid for a wristband, which gave "free" access to all of the arcade games, except for the claw machines, which required you to buy an extra card.

The food selection was better than expected but still just okay-- the pretzel was my favorite: soft, served warm, but not much taste beside straight up salt crystals (but it did come with sharp mustard on the side).
