Took my 2020 chevy 3500hd in for a check engine light. Paid for the diagnostics. Expexted I was paying for quality. Few days later they tell me it's gonna be over 6000 to fix it. Ok. Pick it up on a Friday and drive home. Get in the next day and light is on again. Take it back. Few days later they tell me it's going to be over 13,000 to fix it. WTF. Almost 20,000 for a check engine light issue and even then they say they are not positive that's it. Owner calls me up to argue with me. Says the repair was done right. How the hell is that possible when after 6000 it's still broken. He tries to say they fixed what was most likely the problem but there was always a chance it was going to be more. That's not what they said when they told me 6000. Never said it could be more. Would not have had them do the work if they would have been honest up front. I paid for their expected expertise and experience, but got scammed instead. 6000 for nothing. 6000 got me a still broken truck with the same issue and an argument about how it was done right? I'd say I will never go to another shop, but they did such a good job. I don't think I'm gonna be needing to go to a shop for a very long time. So, I'll say, I will never suggest another shop to anybody else. They're going to work with you and not try to upsell you. And in my case, when things went a little sideways, they didn't leave me high and dry and worked with me to resolve it. Very responsive, fair pricing, great troubleshooting and completed early We had our truck looked at while in Montana at a dealer with a check engine light on. They said it was safe to drive back to AZ. Copperhead found a module bad that could have locked up the brakes or set off airbags while driving. That would have been a bad day while towing a 5th wheel. read more

You get what you pay for! The guys at Copperhead did a great job on my 2016 Mercedes Sprinter Diesel. half the engine needed to be taken apart to do the work, lots of time and consideration. I got updates as I needed them and the price was high, but accurate to the work. I rather quality over speed any day. I want to start off by saying I am not one to leave reviews however this shop went above and beyond for me, huge shout out to the service manager Chris and the tech Brandon. I took my truck into AAMCO (not knocking them) I was told I needed to have my entire transmission rebuilt after 70k miles I worked with Chris and Sean to get a second opinion. After inspection I had dirty fluid and one wire shorting out on an external wire harness. If it wasn't for these guys I would have rebuilt the ENTIRE transmission over a single wire. Absolutely recommend them it's extremely difficult to find honest, quality, reliable shops and these guys are exactly that. Again thank you Chris, Brandon, and Sean for all your help! read more

Beware. Very suspect and unethical business practices. Our 2019 Ford Transit was overheating. After taking it to my normal repair shop they informed me that it seemed to be an EGR issue but recommended I see a diesel repair shop for further diagnostics and repair. After researching and being referred we settled on Copperhead Diesel. After towing the vehicle to their shop and paying an assessment fee we were told for further diagnosis the charge would be $1785.00.We agreed to the diagnostic charge. After Copperhead Diesel had assessed the vehicle we were informed that the van needed $20,800 in repairs, ranging from blown head gasket, cracked head, replacing DPF and EGR cooler. Chris Informed us that Ford had an extended warranty on the EGR but was adamant that Ford would not cover the repair saying "Ford will tell you that the vehicle overheated which caused the EGR to crack". Trusting what a "reputable" diesel shop would say and devastated by the news we declined the repairs. Chris said his boss was willing to purchase the van for $2500 to help us out. The rims and tires not to mention the rack, lighting system and shower are worth way more than $2500. After having the van towed back to our home and debating our options with the vehicle and repairs we were put in touch with the service department at Peoria Ford. We explained the issue and the diagnostic we received from Copperhead Diesel. Peoria Ford had us bring the van in to be diagnosed. After two weeks we were called and informed that the van was ready to go and will be delivered to our home in East Mesa. Upon speaking with the service advisor at Peoria Ford and asking about the repairs, I was told the EGR was cracked and replaced under the Ford Extended Care Program at no charge to us. After pressing the service advisor further on the diagnosis I received from Copperhead Diesel I was assured there was no blown head gasket, no cracked head and no damage to the DPF. So pleased to have our vehicle back yet so confused and angry about the process it took to get us where we are. Perhaps Copperhead Diesel had a bad day and just misdiagnosed a vehicle? Or perhaps the misdiagnosis was intentional to purchase the van for $2500? Either way between the towing and misdiagnosis by Copperhead Diesel we are out $2300. I've never written a review before but I felt it was necessary to warn others about Copperhead Diesel. read more

They gave me a price Friday to repair my truck then when Tuesday came around and truck was ready for pick up and payment, the price increased and they decided and authorized a more expensive part for me. At this point they had my keys and part installed I had to pay to get my truck back nothing I can do. Definitely won't be returning. They can eat a fat one! read more

Shawn and Copperhead diesel were a god send for me. I had a mystery noise, I am from Northern Ca and was concerned about making the drive home so I called Copperhead and Shawn, who was completely swamped, still got my truck in. Come to find out the noise was it's own problem (and not detrimental for my drive) but my water pump was out (why are water pumps always out?!). Shawn gave me affordable options (as affordable as a damn diesel can be at least) and we found the best way to do the repair to make sure I made it home without going over kill. He could have over sold me, he could have tried to tell me I couldn't make it home without the whole project done (which of course I would have called BS on because I'm kinda snappy like that) and he could have also turned me away because his shop was so busy. I had my 2002 2500HD Silverado at this shop for a few different maintenance items, and some upgrades as well. The owner and technicians were very knowledgeable and helpful. My truck was completed in a timely manner, every time I brought it in. Work I had done included: -EFI live install -Full injector and line replacement -Lift pump install -Water pump replacement -Radiator replacement -Drop shackle install I will be returning soon for some transmission and turbo upgrades. These guys get ZERO stars but I have to select one to make a review. They misdiagnosed a simple exhaust leak. Had my truck twice as long as they said they would. And then tried to charge me for their own misdiagnosis. DO NOT GIVE THESE GUYS YOUR BUSINESS. After telling them I wasn't going to pay for their mistake they threatened to put a lien on my truck. When I said ok you'll be hearing from my lawyer they changed their tune but told me to never come back. I was cordial and gave them every opportunity to make it right and that was the result. Great business did some work for me at reasonable price. About week later I had check engine light come on after I put in cold air intake. I took it in they came out put it on their diagnostic machine. After few you minutes they found loose plug. Out plug back in light goes off. I figured that was going to cost me. Nope, no charge. I dropped my truck off for a water pump and these guys broke the radiator. I ended up having to take it to another shop because I didn't trust them to fix it. I had to pay an additional $800+ right after Thanksgiving and right before Christmas. Copperhead Diesel did pay for the radiator but I had to pay for the labor. I tried to back charge my credit card for the water pump repairs but was told by Visa that this is not the proper venue for righting a wrong. I was told by Visa that I would have to take this shop to small claims court to recoup the additional $800 that I had paid for the radiator installation. There is more to this story but I have other things I value more than providing a complete timeline of the lies and poor service provided by this shop. I hope Sean at Copperhead learns to treat his customers vehicles with more care. read more
