Ok, this is waayyyyy overdue because I've been going to Amy for a long time. First, Amy is an angel on earth. She is so warm, funny, talented and beautiful and she makes you feel special and pretty. She's literally one of the sweetest people I've ever known. Now, let's talk extensions. I've wanted them forever - I have pretty thin hair that does not like to grow past my shoulders. Amy and I met for the consult and played with all the color swatches (so fun!). We took some time making sure we had the right colors because once you order the hair you can't change the color. The colors turned out ah-maz-ing. It takes a few hours to install but the time flies by because Amy and I are just chatting away and having fun. The end result seriously brought me to tears. It took some getting used to because the hair feels like another appendage when you never had much hair before. I thought the bonds would be uncomfortable to sleep in but they are not - I don't even really notice them anymore. With my hair being thin I was worried about stressing it out and causing it to weaken my natural hair and creating long term damage. That is always a risk when you color, use heat or anything really, so I just try to be super careful that I don't tug the hair too hard, get it stuck under my purse strap, let my kids pull on it, etc. I always kinda have my guard up now, lol, but it's so worth it. When I went in for my first lift (about 4 weeks post-install) Amy moved a couple of pieces around based on my feedback/questions, shaped the front a little and made it look more amazing! She also looked for signs that my hair roots were getting stressed out or if I was being too rough on the bonds. So she really goes the extra mile to have you looking fab and keep your natural hair healthy. And, because you are investing in this hair, don't skimp on the quality hair care products. Whatever Amy suggests you get, just get it. They have an amazing line of Kevin Murphy products and she set me up with everything I needed. It is pricey, but if you skimp you won't get a very long life out of your hair. This is like a dream come true. My hair has always been one of the things I disliked most about myself and as silly as it might sound, these extensions have changed my life. I absolutely loved Amy and the overall experience! I usually go to another hairstylist but wanted to try coloring my hair. Her personality and her excitement made the 2 hours pass by because we ended up talking the whole time! She was super patient and really wanted to understand what I wanted because I was nervous since I never colored my hair before. I have really dark black Asian hair and she used a razor to help cut down a lot of it because it was super thick. She wanted to start off with just a deep brown and she let me know that I could adjust it however I'd like throughout the process! She also makes sure that she gives each client enough time so they never feel rushed. We moved here this summer. Had to find a new stylist to deal with keeping my curly hair looking good. After searching online, I found Amy and I'm so glad I did! Her salon is beautiful. It's on the smaller size, but it's perfect for two stylists. It's light, bright and so,so pretty. As for the actual hair? Do what I did and check out pics here on yelp, google and Insta. I knew Amy had experience with both my color and type of curls but I was still blown away by how great my hair looks. Proof? My best friend and her kids came to visit. My goddaughter asked if she could get her hair cut by my person because my hair has never looked better. I have been a client (or a fan, really) of Amy's for about 5 years now, after hearing about her from a friend. She has always done an outstanding job; at this point, I just trust her to do what she thinks looks best. She is so flexible and professional, and always a joy to work with. I moved across the country two years ago and made the mistake of trying a more geographically desirable hairstylist. Eight thick blonde highlights (my hair is dark brown) and a hair cut that made my head look questionably similar to that of Hey Arnold! later, I tried to fix my hair myself, and somehow dyed my hair a shocking shade of red. The next time I returned home, I saw Amy and apologized for straying. She not only took me back, but fixed both the disastrous cut and the color. (I have a friend who had a similar situation, but instead of color it was an extension fiasco...) Amy is hands down the best hair stylist there is. I even got my sister hooked on Amy -- she did the hair for her wedding, and even hooked the bridal party up with a phenomenal makeup artist. Despite the fact that we live now live on the east coast, neither of us let anyone other than Amy touch our hair. There is a reason why Amy has such a loyal following -- she is not only talented, but professional, kind and so much fun. Seeing her is always a highlight in my visits home. Amy's focus on hair is to help keep it as healthy as possible while giving you exactly what you want.
