First time at Cora's. It's a bright, colorful restaurant with ample seating. We were seated instantly as it wasn't busy at 9am on a Tuesday, the coffee was great, just what I needed. I got the 10 Star omelet, the boss got...... what the boss wants..... the boss got the Boss's Favorite. Both dishes were packed with flavor and cheesy goodness, the fresh fruit garnish was a lovely accompaniment. Service was minimal. Waited 15mins without beverage order. Main order was made at this time and came incomplete. No toast as ordered. No condiments on the table (jam/butter/syrup/ketchup). Attempts to get the server to our table literally fell onto deaf ears as they ignored us as they walked by. When server came back and asked how everything was (once everyone was finished), the honest statement was made of inattention to detail and subpar customer service. The debit machine was handed over for payment and was for full value and preset to include a tip. The food that did come to the table was satisfactory; just poor service, poor attention to detail and customer service was a bare minimum. Found this place on yelp on the first of a 2 day getaway with my wife. The menu is extensive, crepes seem to be a specialty but they serve all the regular breakfast fare. We were visiting Victoria for the day and stopped by the Information Center when we got off the seaplane. The staff there recommended this place for breakfast. This place is like other diners. It offers big portion sizes and offers an extensive menu. I ordered a strawberry/banana crepe with hazelnut sauce. It was huge and I enjoyed it. Along with the crepe came 2 eggs and potatoes. It might be good for them to offer smaller portion sizes since it might help them save some money. My husband ordered a spinach and cheese omelet and enjoyed this dish. Such a deliciously fresh way to start the morning! So difficult to choose what to eat here but I finally settled with the lactose - free smoothie bowl and the sunshine panini crepes with fruit while mom got the ode to oatmeal and a double side of bacon. The panini crepe was SO SO GOOD. The way the highlight of my two dishes. The crepe was cooked just right and combined perfectly with the ham, egg, and cheese. The smoothie bowl was much bigger than I expected. You could taste the banana and blueberries without either overpowering the other. Even though there was a handful of toppings including kiwi, coconut, cranberries, walnuts, and some corn flakes, I still felt like because of the sheer size of the smoothie bowl it would have been a bit more enjoyable if there was more corn flakes or even a little more of each topping. I tried a few bites of mom's oatmeal and loved the creamy texture of the oats. So that was great too. But I can't say enough good things about that panini crepe, I'd suggest trying that if you're having trouble deciding. read more

We had a couples get away weekend up here and needed to grab a quickish breakfast- Cora's was nearby and fit the bill! Just off the main drag downtown, it's an easy walk from any of the hotels. The place has a small front, but it's a very large place once you get inside. We were seated quickly and got us served quite fast. We got oatmeal and an omelette sandwich with a side of thick bacon! The thick bacon was, while a bit pricey, very delicious! It was something like five dollars for two pieces, but this was basically like getting pork belly with your breakfast. It was seriously excellent! We both save half of our breakfast for our better halves, and got it to go. They were very accommodating. The total for a breakfast came to something like $12 each, and they were able to get us in and out of there in about 30 minutes. It wasn't the fanciest breakfast, but it was a step up from Denny's and they had a pretty eclectic and wide ranging menu. It's definitely a place we would go back to. Wholesome and strawberries were fresh. Perfect amount of sweetness. Sourdough bread is so good! P.S, The latte was horrible. So not recommended. For this uninitiated American, Cora was a walk into the Twilight Zone. When we walked in, I realized it was probably a chain, and had I not been tired and hungry would've suggested leaving. It was early, and the place was quiet and almost empty, contrasting with the bright decor and inCREDibly cheery server. The menu continued the bright and cheery motif. Everything within sight seemed geared toward early adolescents, and suspiciously clean. Then the food came, and impossibly, it looked exactly like the ridiculously fake photos on the menu! We waited another 10 minutes before anyone approached the table ! When the food did arrive it was cold !! Bacon the crappy precooked cold crap, eggs cold , shit everything was cold !! We had pancakes and when we asked for butter and syrup he didn't understand why we needed that ! The bill was almost $60 for cold crappy food and terrible service ! We won't be back ! Recommended to us by our hotel since their restaurant was temporarily closed. The restaurant is cleverly decorated with whimsical paintings of their food items. Forgot to take pictures but the husband had a substantial banana waffle with coco-hazelnut syrup and a passion fruit blueberry smoothie-sweet! I had the Gigi (using the whole egg but usually made with egg white). I'm not a huge fan of feta cheese but I was able to easily scrape it off. It also came with fresh fruit and gluten free bread. Perfect for my needs. I added a beet/cucumber and fruit smoothie. It was just as advertised but a little heavy on the beet flavor for my taste. Service was quick and efficient. OMG! Cora's "Ode to Oatmeal" is fabulous beyond belief!!! I was worried it was going to be way too sweet, so I asked our waitress to serve the syrup on the side rather than drizzled over the top. That was a great plan--I didn't use any of it. And the syrup-free version of the dish was just right, sweetness-wise. The whole concept of sprinkling granola on top of hot oatmeal was new to me, but brilliant! Our service was also outstanding, as was being able to order fresh-squeezed orange juice! The trouble with a place that has a reputation around always having fresh fruit is they have to get the fruit from very far away, which means it usually wasn't picked fresh and the flavour is - meh - at best. This is why I am always disappointed when someone convinces me to come to Cora's. The fruit looks great, but at best, it has no flavour, at worst, it's bitter and hard, and I'm always tricked into thinking it might taste good, by how nice it looks.
