It's Cora's. We had a consistent experience with the food although our server seemed like it was the last place he'd like to be. My non-dairy request was honored, right down to the buttering my rye toast. I had oatmeal & my husb has a breakfast wrap. The location on Douglas was within convenient walking distance from our hotel. Be aware that toilet facilities are NOT mobility friendly, with a some stairs to access. They are very family friendly, with stroller storage aside, high chairs & crayons to entertain the kids. If you like Cora's it's fine. This place is all right. It wasn't bad but it is not somewhere I would go back to, unfortunately. We were seated very quickly and our order came out quickly. That being said it was odd how quick it came out...maybe like 5 minutes so it made me feel that it was reheated or had just been sitting there in the kitchen. Pre-made food? Not a fan of that. If you like to regular breakfast food this is your place, it is moderately priced which does not help it's cause to have cold food. My crepe was a sugar bomb but the bacon reminded me of hospital cafeteria type and my husband's food was not impressive either. The Manager at this location made bad decisions. Our 7 year old asked for a waffle instead of a chocolate chip pancake and the waitress advised there would be an additional charge which was agreed to. Then she came back and said the waffle could not be substituted but she offered the full size waffle with a side of scrambked egg and bacon. Total cost $9.95 waffle, $4.25 bacon, $3.50 egg. Total $17.70. The waffle was plain but it was served with fruit and cream so it was sent back for a main waffle. Basically the difference between a waffle and a pancake is the shape, alums a waffle has more egg. My order of a western omelette came 15 minutes after everyone else was served at our table. The waitress said the kitchen made a mistake. There was not a visit from the manager with an apology as he left the waitress to hang out on these decisions and errors on her own. This is not a complaint on the waitress and she did a great job. The decisions by management were based on greed and poor customer service. My son and I just had a very bad experience and will not be going back to Cora. We were told there would a 10-15 minute wait for our table and were asked to wait outside. I looked around and (politely, I think) pointed out that there were at least 4 empty tables for 2 and several tables for 4 and asked if we could have one of those. I was told the server wouldn't be able to help us. I said that was fine but could we please sit at a table to wait instead of standing in the cold on the street. Yes, you can wait in line for Jam cafe or John's place or another more trendy eatery (and don't get me wrong, those places are amazing) but if you want great food, fresh fruit, and great service in a casual atmosphere without massive waits this is your place. Their dishes favor fresh fruit and not the 'let me give you a bunch of cheap melon' fruit -- they deliver blueberries, strawberries, bananas, papaya and more. So good. Went with the Strawberry Creep this time here-I was expecting it to be the Strawberry stuff you will find at a Grocery store, but looks like it was fresh Strawberries, very yummy! Cora's is a very good casual Breakfast place chain in Canada, and both of them we've been to are pretty good. The main issue I would have with this one is that finding a parking spot is a challenge, specially during the day time- it could be very frustrating trying to find a spot, which is why I gave them 3 stars. It's a mom and pop shop with tons of different options.... only why a four star since I felt the menu didn't have enough veggie options! Came here for breakfast while on a work trip. The service was fast and friendly. I ordered the spinach, bacon, and feta(or goat cheese, can't remember) omelette. It was REALLY delicious but the unsung hero were the roasted potatoes that came with it. I feel like too many places don't put emphasis on their potatoes particularly when it's included with breakfast. But these folks did really well. Like hot sauce with your eggs? They have tobasco, Frank's Red Hot, and Cholula. So don't forget to ask for those. For me, hot sauce is a breakfast requirement. My only issue is that, and maybe I misunderstood the server, it seemed like you couldn't make your own omelette and had to go by the menu. Great quality breakfast with lots of fresh fruits. Been to Cora twice now and both times have been awesome! The staff is always welcoming and friendly and Molly was especially great this time! Portions are generous so come hungry! I am partial to eggs Benedict and I really enjoy the ham here, it's got a better taste than back in the US and really brings the Benedict home.
