Super cute place! I took my boyfriend's daughter here for a little tea party and it was so fun. She's 5 so it definitely felt fancy to her. They have lots of tea to choose from and we got one that was a little more fruity and added some honey and lemon to make it sweet for her! We had the brunch tower with a mix of sandwhiches, pastries and fruit! She loved it so much she wouldn't stop talking about it all week. But why drive all the way to OC? Lucky me, I got two weekends in a row to experience this wonderful wine and tea house. If you feel the need for some pampering, or even if you just want a hot cup of coffee or tea and a sweet to start your day, Corbeaux is perfect! The setting is casual-elegant, with lots of vintage detail and European touches used in the decor. You can choose from their menu of teas, wine, sweet, savory, and caviar, or select one of their preset tasting menus. Their menu of sweets and small bites offer some very unique and surprisingly delicious tastes. Some of my favorites: lavender shortbread cookies, Madeleines, their charcuterie board, smoked salmon on toast, peach tea salad . . . well, everything was so delicious! Our amuse-bouches (ha,ha, my daughter had to explain this to me) was a bag of herb & tea popcorn that when opened released a subtle smokie aroma of the seasoned popcorn. It was addicting. Choosing a tea tasting is a worthwhile experience ($25 for four teas). Mark, our server, explained each tea that was served . . . they all have a story and a unique flavor and aroma, just like wine! This is a local family owned business who have lived in Temecula since 1999! The family owns and operates a vineyard and offer their wines for purchase here. The restaurant was right off the historic downtown area, and our group of 3 shared 4 wine cocktails and 2 appetizers, all of which were stunning. The restaurant is very Instagram worthy with its bookish decor and vintage vibes. The server was fantastic and took care of everything quickly, as well as suggesting amazing drinks. Popped in here for a class of wine after dinner around the corner one night. It was a Sunday evening so it was really slow, but the server was super sweet and helpful. I love the decor and ambiance of the whole place. The different seating, etc. I love all the little Knick knacks! The only food we had was the free smoked tea popcorn with out wine. The tower of food is quite delicious. Each tea sandwich had a goat cream cheese spread. I'm not a fan of goat cheese; however, it wasn't overpowering and very complimentary of its topping. The ambiance was very quaint, serene, and relaxing. The playlist was truly ON POINT. The ambiance and music truly cultivates an atmosphere in which one can host business relationships or friendships. Such a gem. The owner and co-owner were on site. It was nice to chat with both of them. Our server, Audrey, was both delightful and friendly. She was knowledgeable about the tea and food, easy to talk with and provides suggestions; should you need a nudge choosing the right tea. This place surprised me with how much a I enjoyed it. My wife and I will often do afternoon tea in LA and Corbeux is enjoyable to the point where I wish we didn't live 2 hours away from it. The afternoon tea tower is perfect for tea to just sit and eat an chat. The ambience is gentle and quiet perfect for enjoying some tea. The service was attentive and on point but both times we were here. The restaurant was maybe half full for our first visit and empty for our second visit and both times the service was attentive. My wife and I both really enjoyed the Asian inspired dish they offered. The sorta Caesar is the salad of my dreams. That paired with the hojicha was perfect. We attended the Haunted High Tea this last weekend, and left very underwhelmed. The price was incredibly high for the food served. The pastry's served were super dry and not flavorful. Like so so dry. I didn't like anything pictured, and I love this type of food (who doesn't?). I believe they purchase the scones and baked goods from an outside company, because they were not fresh. They tasted days old. They passed around a few finger sandwiches and pieces of food that were 1/2 a bite. I get that this is tea, and not a meal but it just seemed pretty barren. Also, the menu didn't flow in the slightest. One of the offerings was an entire very firm wedge of cantaloupe covered in matcha powder that we had to try and eat with a fork. Everyone was sawing away, it was super awkward and not "tea house" food. The price was astronomical for the level of food. For 3 people I paid 120.00 for a deposit, and then the final bill came to 206.00 for a grand total 326 bucks! I literally cannot believe it. Bottom line you can 100% get better "tea house" snacks at Trader Joe's for 1/8 of the price. And as for ambience it definitely isn't worth the price tag. Again 326.00.... read more
