We arrived at an off hour around 5 PM, so it was especially peaceful. The menu is simple and straightforward, with a generously curated wine list to match. We ordered the Lemon Ricotta Crab Dip with a delicious house baguette ($19) and the Pepperoni Focaccia Slab ($17), and everything was fantastic. The ambiance, the food, the wine--it all came together perfectly. The gray sky at sunset somehow made the whole experience feel even more atmospheric and intimate. The staff was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable about both the menu and wine list, and happy to talk about the surrounding area. First time at this bar on a rainy Thursday night. It's surprisingly busy for a weekday. Two nice gentlemen run the front of the house, very at attentive and approachable. Just finished dinner so hubby and I decided to finish it off with some drinks that didn't disappoint. I had a nice glass of Chardonnay and hubby had "The Harlot" beer that he really liked. However, a group of 6 people in the middle of the bar were already having "so much fun" and got pretty loud. Just didn't expect a cozy-looking place could turn out to be that loud, especially the guests were dressed up classy. My mom and I tried Two Travelers for the first time this weekend. When we arrive it's unclear if we seat ourselves or if we wait for someone to seat us. A friendly customer advises us we seat ourselves, at this point we haven't been greeted by staff. The table we chose has a long grey hair on it and my mom killed a bug on her arm. After deciding what we wanted to order I go up to the order here sign because I assumed that's where we order since the vibe is giving self serve? I'm then ignored till I ask the bartender if we order here which he responded "we actually take your order at the table". The lack of initial customer acknowledgment made a horrible first impression. We sat for 10 minutes before getting water, after 25 minutes our order was taken. Once we ordered the bartender/waiter advised us it would be a 25-30 minutes before we got our food and recommended the olive and almond and bread with butter selection appetizers because they "come out faster" to hold us over. We opted out. We got the hamachi crudo, garlic shrimp, and crab dip. The food was a 4/5 and the wine is a 4/5 as well. If you have almost three hours and $130 to spend for 3 appetizers and 4 glasses of wine (2pp), this is your spot. My mom was looking forward to coming here and so was I. The space is moody, elegant, and romantically lit, with stylish, thoughtful décor that feels elevated but unpretentious. The staff welcomed us warmly and invited us to sit wherever we liked. After some indecision (so many cozy nooks to choose from!), we were offered a plush velvet banquette with the perfect view of the bar. The vibe? Relaxed, refined, and clearly curated with love. We started with a bottle of 2023 Lieu Dit Sauvignon Blanc; crisp, clean, and absolutely perfect. We paired it with the House Bread + Three Butters, and let me tell you: chef's kiss. Well is the not an automatic given it's wine bar? Definitely, not a restaurant as all waters and plates are placed out of reach across the table. We like to order one course at a time, along with a bottle of wine, so we asked to leave just one food menu. The salad was beautiful and fresh, the wine selection great, but no one ever came back for an order maybe like 30-35 min after our food was gone, so we asked for the check and went to eat somewhere else. I pointed out that it's a wine bar, not a restaurant, but there is kitchen on the sign, so if you are going for a glass of wine or bottle they have some great options, food I can't comment on further than a salad, but service is lacking, and they could have sold us another dinner, dessert and Kopke Tawny. read more

Reservations can be made via email for parties of 6 or more and require a deposit of $10 for each person. This is understandable for me and your card isn't charged if your party shows up. When the youngest sibling gets to shine. For my first artist date-- I'm in the middle of tackling Julia Cameron's The Artist's Way-- I decided to act as if I was a food critic, note pad and all. Looking back, that's likely what triggered this Substack. It was the first time I really thought to take notes while eating; describing the food, the wine, the full experience, really. It was fun, so here we are. I went on a Friday, early afternoon, just before everyone was getting off of work, so the place was fairly empty. I secretly liked that, so I could ease into this faux-critic experience. Two Travelers Wine Bar + Merchant, an extension of the larger Goat and Vine dining experience, is a smaller space nestled on a slower corner in the heart of Old Town Temecula. The vibe was dope. Jazz music met me at the door just before the hostess could. Service was great. The place felt elevated and funky, a perfect ambiance for Friday after shutting the laptop. Dimly lit, but perfectly set. Let's get into it. I tried two whites, but ultimately went with the sweeter Albariño (Coteau Pavot), as I'm still building my wine palate. It offered a fresh sweetness with strong notes of stone fruit and it wrapped up beautifully with a floral, yet smoky finish. Went with the white because I thought it'd pair best with what I planned to order. The Lemon Ricotta Crab Dip and the Caesar Salad (I'm a slut for a good Caesar). They came out together so I was able to really indulge. Caesar Salad To start, it's big as shit. DAMN, this is delicious. They went beyond the typical Caesar assemblage and added arugula and radicchio, which I love, as it adds a hint of bitterness. The parmesan and manchego come together to offer a nice bit of saltiness. Bomb. The dish description mentioned breadcrumbs, which I'm missing, or at least, wish were bigger. Was hoping for an extra crunch that made your eyes widen a bit on that first bite. While I love the slight bitterness, it did sit on the back of my tongue a bit longer than I expected. Still deciding if that was enjoyable or not. Regardless, I'd get it again. Lemon Ricotta Crab Dip OH SHIT. Served with a crunchy, warm, soft-on-the-inside baguette. This is refreshingly different. The citrusy notes keep the dip light and it paired perfectly with the Albariño. The texture of the crab is top-tier and the flavor is nowhere near too fishy. The Ricotta is a good, creamy choice and the dip had an unstrained level of saltiness that carried through each bite. This was my favorite, I thought. Now, if you remember a few sentences ago, I said that the wine choice was intentional for what "I planned to order". Well, I didn't know the waiter would be bringing out a unique looking steak sandwich to the table next to me. So... Okay I have fallen in love with this cute spot. Great vibes, fun jazz singing on a Saturday evening, and a good wine selection. We had just come out of the Vineyards in Temecula and my fiancé found this spot online. Their menu is simple with sandwiches, charcuterie, dips, etc. Nothing to crazy, so that helps those of us who get overwhelmed by a big menu. Prices are good for the portions. We got two sandwiches and a crab dip to share. The sandwiches dont come with sides, so I would get a shareable plate too. They have a good range of wines, and I actually LOVED their barbera wine from Lost Ranch, a local Temecula winery. I liked it so much I bought a bottle for home. We were lucky enough to visit the brand new Two Travelers Wine Bar during their soft opening. It's located in the old G&V building on 5th street...and let's start with this - the space is stunning! And I would expect no less, given its sister restaurant is Goat & Vine! The ambiance is warm and inviting, with beautiful lighting and details throughout. They have an amazingly talented team, including Brad, Alicia and Nate, all of whom we had the pleasure of chatting with on our visit. Not only is Alicia an incredible chef, she designed their casually elegant space. Brad helped us choose the perfect bottle of sparkling wine to pair with an assortment of delicious bites. We tried the Caesar and citrus salads, garlic butter prawns, house bread with 3 yummy butters, and the lamb meatballs. Everything was scrumptious and beautifully presented. I thought nothing could top G&V's Mother's Meatballs but boy, the whipped feta addition on the lamb was out of this world. We look forward to eventually trying everything on the menu! And what a bonus that they'll also be selling carefully chosen wines, each with a story. They say a team reflects its leadership and Two Travelers is no exception to this rule. As usual, she is fabulous they should have her there on a residency. she goes perfect with the establishment love the intimate ambience. prices seemed reasonable. They just need to have a phone number where you are able to call in. Left my credit card there and had to wait three days after Christmas and had to stop by in person to see if I had left it there. We sat in the back room where the walls are full of wine bottles and less people. The sound would amplify our voices in that small room. They have live music on select nights. The night we were there they had a jazz singer, which added to the ambience. The dessert we ordered was the bread pudding and smores. The pudding was not too sweet and had just the right amount. There were 4 of us and we each had a couple of bites. The smores was an elevated version of a smore, so it looked like a small fancy dessert with layers. It was definitely sweeter than the pudding, but it was still good. It's not as big as the pudding. so I would definitely not share. read more

We finally tried this place! I'm so excited to see a wine bar in downtown Temecula! It's dark, quaint and definitely a little hangout place for us locals. Travelers are obviously welcomed, hence the name "Two Travelers" .. There is a little food menu and we did get this AMAZING charcuterie board *pictured*. YUMMY! The wine was good - I would have appreciated a little more sommelier-type help picking the wines and providing the details on the profile.
