My wife and I had a fantastic time from the moment we walked in -- the aesthetic is modern and chic, the kind of space that immediately sets the mood for a great evening. The self-serve wine bar is the star of the show. You load a card and use a tap system to pour by the taste, half glass, or full pour, making it incredibly easy to explore wines at your own pace without any pressure. The selection is extensive, with plenty of varietals to work through, and the staff is warm and attentive without being overbearing. Located just off Front Street and tucked toward the back of Old Town, it has a naturally intimate feel that makes it perfect for a date night or a low-key evening out. We haven't tried the food menu yet, but we're already looking forward to going back. If you want a great wine experience without driving out to the wineries, Humble Somm is exactly the answer. I love the casualness of the interior. It's the perfect spot to hang out with a group of friends. I also am impressed with the arrangement of the 48 bottles of wine. I chose several that were local from wineries I had never heard of and compared the same varietals in ones from California and other parts of the world. Went on a wine tour in Temecula and this was the meeting point. It was cute and quaint with wine and small bites, I only tried the Riesling and tater tot's and it was really good !! I was mad that they ran out of it!! However, I love how you can get your own wine. You select the one you want and oz and it comes out the machine. I think it was very innovative. You grab a wine card, and swipe away lol There's wine dispensers with different wines from Europe and around the world. How awesome is that?! You go up to the machine and swipe. The vibe is very laidback, and the ambiance is quiet. That really stands out to me, because the rest of Old Town Temecula is loud with the night bars/ clubs. It's off the beaten path a bit, which is great because this wine bar is removed from all the crazies down the main drag lol Things to note: They are closed on Monday's. They have a zero percent wine. Load a card, pick your pour, and enjoy! I tried several different wines and all were good! From memory, which isn't very good after a few tastings: Rose' and Primitovo from Italy; Tempranillo from Spain, Malbec from? And that's all I can remember lol! Note that there are no local wines offered here. They also have a menu of small bites. This may be an entirely new innovation around wine tasting, rarely offered in Temecula. The process is as streamlined as receiving a card you can "tap" at your wine tap of choice, then select the amount you wish to try. We were also blown away at how many menu options were offered. Bites ranging from sophisticated light garlicky spreads, to more filling savory plates like sliders and grilled cheese--which further enhanced the comfort behind the whole experience! Our corner was regularly tidied with plates and silverware bussed out of our way, allowing us more room and space to really enjoy each other's company and play games. The facility has a neat game library stand with a selection sure to range to cater to anyone's taste. I know it's not fair to rate based on an event butttt this 5 star is well deserved. We did the taste of old town yesterday and found this hidden gem. It's a wine bar, live music, quaint and cozy. Very welcoming (prob most welcoming of all the places we visited) you can buy wine by the glass using their automated pour machines. What really took me back was the whipped feta they were sampling. Prob the most chefy thing I tasted. Still thinking about it. Such a simple and complex dish with layers of flavor profiles. Had some pistachio crumble? Honey? Olives. So sweet and savory. The olive and honey helped cut the fatty richness of the whipped feta (hello where have you been my whole life) spot is a little hidden, prob would have never found it if it weren't for the event. Everyone else in my group got the bee sting flatbread pepperoni with hot honey? My niece who is the picky of pickiest eaters ate it all, that's saying something. I know this is just one man's opinion but as a former chef, that whipped feta dish is a star. I can't stop raving about it.
