I really recommend you try this. The only reason they are getting a 4 out of 5 stars is because the fish itself was very bland. It didn't have any flavor. The brussel sprouts this time were not crispy and done. They were very hard in the middle. We did order another order and asked them to cook them longer and they came out perfect. No idea what k they used for the green in the green ranch but it was really good with the fries, wings, and salmon cake burger. The service was okay. We were the only ones in there for lunch at 3pm. My party had 4 people and there were about 6/8 employees, which 4 were just sitting at a table chit chatting and for us being the only ones in there we would have expected to be checked on more frequently but again not sure if this is a southern thing because in CA we are waited on hand and foot. Came here on a Monday and there were only a couple of tables occupied. It's in the same complex as the flower child and west elm so a big parking lot there. The food was great! Very fresh and flavorful and the service felt like fine dining almost. We ordered a lot of food and ended up having to take some home. Personal favorite was the wings. We came here on Halloween night and it was pretty empty so we were seated immediately. The waiters were dressed in costume which was fun! We started with the tuna tartare and the corn and jalapeño hush puppies. Both were absolutely excellent. The tartare was absolutely perfect. I had the teriyaki grilled chicken with coconut rice and pineapple pico de gallo. The rice was actually really good on its own until I bit into a ball of uncooked rice. The grilled chicken was fine. You get the crunch from the tempura fry, the pickled flavor from the carrots and veggies on top and then the best surprise underneath....a mini seaweed salad. The smoked wings were delicious as well. Traditional buffalo sauce with creamy dressing underneath. The Georgia shrimp were a creamy version of a New Orleans bbq shrimp. Messy, yummy, worth it. Lastly the picanha was perfectly cooked and had a great chimichurri on top. It comes with fingerling potatoes and some sautéed kale. Ambiance is great. We sat outside but what we saw a bit of the inside. Dim, cozy, and edgy but still very inviting. The service was top tier. Everyone is friendly and they work together very well. It tasted super greasy and nothing like I expected. The only thing that really stood out to me was their espresso dessert. I wound down my Atlanta visit with a lunch at Seven Lamps, which my brother highly recommended from his previous experience. The hip space was tucked away in the corner of a strip mall, making it a hidden gem for those in the know. While they had a nice outdoor patio, we decided to bask in the air conditioning of the indoor space. The dining room had an industrial vibe with an open kitchen where we could watch the staff assemble our meal. The menu was full of healthy, creative dishes, so we decided to order a few things and share them, in order to try more items. The Avocado & Quinoa Salad was mainly an arugula and quinoa base, which was topped with very few pumpkin seeds, cucumbers, and radishes, as well as the aforementioned avocado slices. While the salad was rather plain, even with its salsa verde vinaigrette, the Grilled Shrimp that we added were amazing! The plump shellfish had a hint of smokiness, which was really interesting. We also ordered the Mahi Mahi Ceviche, which was served in a glass containing layers of orange slices, an avocado mousse, and a ginger tequila aguachile. It was a very refreshing rendition of a ceviche, but it would have been appreciated if the acidic blend was served with some sort of bread or crackers. Lastly, the Crispy Brussels Sprouts had been seasoned with apple cider vinegar and curry. The sprouts were a bit overcooked for my liking, but the curry seasoning, as well as the toppings of peanuts and mint crema, added an unique flavor profile to what has often become a popular, mainstream dish. Had there been others seated around us it would have taken away from the experience. The food was delicious and a great way to try different items as we had duck, pork and chicken options. We came here for lunch on a Friday and even though I had a reservation, it was not needed. There was plenty of seating, both inside and out on their shared patio. The location is in a shopping center and parking was easy. Our server was with us quickly to get our drink orders. We took a long time to order both because we were chatting and because there are so many good options. We started with the pimento cheese board and it was excellent. There was a great variety of items on the board, so even if you don't like pimento. you will enjoy this board. We also got the corn and jalapeno hush puppies. These were great as well, with it being fried just the right amount. For my entree, I got the burger. The sweet onions were a nice touch, but I felt the bun was a bit dry. Our servers were two young women, one of whom was training with the other - and both were attentive and helpful. Solid start! We ordered an unusual thing to see on a menu: Grilled/roasted oysters - this day they were Blue Point variety. OMG, coulda made a meal just out of this - so tasty, cheesy, smoky and wonderful. A great start. Main entrees for us was a pork shank, carbonara pasta dish, and redfish with an andouille crust. All three were delicious and all three of us were part of the "clean plate club". The tables are long and are designed as shared European-style seating. Luckily, I came at the perfect time to have the whole high-top to myself. I can imagine it may be awkward to dine here for a date night or intimate dinner on a crowded night. They offer an extensive, customized menu with some unique offerings. I opted for the spicy Maine mussels with andouille sausage. It came with about 25 mussels and a tasty tomatillo sauce and onions. I was a bit disappointed with the andouille sausage since it was a very small amount but overall, the mussels had a rich flavor and a nice spicy kick to it. It's a unique bar that em either faces the actual bar or out into the restaurant and kitchen. I love watching the kitchen so their thing. This place has the coolest, cozy vibes and is a great (first) date spot! Think Anthropologie-esque but inviting, with string lights outside. Our waiter was attentive, checking on us regularly, and had great recommendations. We shared the smoked trout dip (delish homemade tortilla chips served with a smoked creamy dip and a side of pickled celery, 7/10) and the fried plantains (perfectly crispy and bite sized with a delicious glaze served atop a herb-y buttermilk ranch... The outdoor seating was covered by individual umbrellas and the weather was perfect. I appreciated their short but flavorful-sounding menu. They have some nice mixed cocktails on the menu as well. For the table we ordered - (2) orders of the Georgia Royal Red Shrimp (omg the brioche was amazing, never thought of eating it like that), an order or Brussell sprouts, and individually I ordered the smoked duck, my husband ordered the chicken, and our friends got the pork tenderloin, and salmon. Everyone really enjoyed their food and raved about how excellent the meal was. But my meal - the smoked duck with curry, sweet potato, and plantains is where it's at. Duck is generally pretty oily to me, but I loved my serving at Seven Lamps. I love that the menu seems to always change and they don't have the same thing all the time. They have an uncovered area but the heat lamps weren't close to any of the open tables so we decided to eat under the tent but there was a large opening for air circulation (for my COVID concern people) I decided to order the boneless pork chop and my friend ordered the wood grilled salmon. What a great lunch. We arrived at opening (11:30) for our outside lunch reservation. We got to pick our table, which was appreciated during covid times. It started to fill up as time passed, most outdoor tables were full by the time we left at 1pm. We started off with cocktails and starters. The scarlet ginger is my new fav, the kick of ginger is fantastic. We also tried the bloody delicious and the irrational and both were delicious. Beautiful colors too! The octopus was crispy and perfectly cooked, while the pimento cheese board blew me away! The caramelized onions on top of the pimento cheese were a perfect addition, the bread was soft with a good crust, and the rosemary grapefruit butter was tasty. One of the best cheese boards I've had. For entrees we split the mussels and the smoked turkey panini. The mussels had a nice kick from the chorizo- large portion of mussels! And the panini was perfectly crispy. I do with there was some sort of apple or pear inside to kick it up a notch, but overall still tasted good and hit the spot. Good crispy fries too! We ended with the passion fruit cake based on the recommendation from our waitress; it looked more dense than I expected but once you bite into it, the flavor of the passion fruit and cream cheese frosting were spectacular. It features a menu that changes seasonally, but I have never had a bad bite! I have eaten and enjoyed their: Apps: Brussels sprouts, Hand Cut Fries (with homemade accompaniments), Corn and Jalapeño Hushpuppies, Smoked & Fried Wings, Mains: Grilled Boneless Pork Chop, Atlantic Salmon, and The Burger (finally a burger in Atlanta worth the up-charge). Their craft cocktails are also tasty and this is a restaurant not to avoid dessert (Key Lime Pie in a Jar is delicious).
