My sister and I had a delicious dinner at Cordova. Everything we tried was really good and I would specifically recommend both the Brie and fig grilled cheese appetizer and the Philly cheesesteak special. The Philly special had the perfect amount of spice and the thinly sliced steak was pristine. Also the French fries were incredible

The Breakfast Sandwich--soooo dry, egg was overcooked and dry, barely any sauce on it (tasted it in two bites)

I wanted a breakfast burrito and instead of sticking with Tops like I shoulda, I saw Cordova Cafe pop up with absolutely beautiful burritos filled with hash browns, avocado, fluffy egg, and lots of melted cheese. I even checked Yelp to make sure the food actually looked like that! Instead... photos are what I received. Both burritos were like this, and the sandwich was somehow disappointing too. I typically remove sauces from my food cause I only need a little, and the sandwich left me dying for something moist to get it down. After a few bites, I opened it up to see if there was any garlic aioli at all and half the bun had none, while the other half had something reminiscent of sauce. The burritos were similarly dry and only palatable thanks to the salsa. The tortillas were so over toasted it was flaking apart like crazy, not to mention separated from the filling cause it's basically a hard shell, barely hanging in there lol. The eggs were dry and overcooked, very little avocado or cheese (hence dry, how many times can I say dry in one review!), and +$3.00 of bacon. The mocha wasn't bad, pretty rich and chocolatey. But the $18 burritos... shoulda just gone to Lucky Boy or Tops. Unlikely to return.

I love a good breakfast burrito, I had the Cordova Breakfast Burrito it has hash browns, cheddar cheese, scrambled egg ,avocado, and bacon with a side of mild salsa.... Super hearty and delicious... This place is cute, it's located near a corner... there's free two hour parking across the street and also parking next door... I was promptly greeted, and ordered at the counter... there's plenty of seating inside and outside... they have plugs to charge your devices... very cute coffee spot... they serve breakfast all day! Yum

Was near the area and were hungry, so we looked for a place that had vegan option and choose Cordova Cafe! It's a cute little cafe, with indoor and outdoor seating, and lots on their menu. We came around brunch time and I got the bagel lox, my sister got the vegan burrito, and my mom got breakfast burrito. Everything was delicious, definitely a little too oily but it was still good. It is a little pricey and salsa was an extra cost, which I didn't like Staff was ok, didn't really say much.

Cordova is one of very few coffee shops in Pasadena open a little later, so one night when my mom and I were in the area we stopped by. I love the moody interior and was kinda sad we didn't get to stay and eat something! Their food menu looks good, so I will have to come back sometime for lunch. I did try their coffee, however, and the staff member that helped me was sweet & helpful. I believe I ended up getting an iced monkey paw latte and it was so good. We also made a couple friends inside Solid experience here! Will return (:

First time here, came by for a quick bite. Very chill spot. I ordered The Breakfast Sandwich, which was pretty good. Service was great! The lady taking my order was very kind and helpful. Good find!

I usually come here early morning for their fantastic cappuccinos, but who knew you could also have a drink and watch the World Series at night!? Service is helpful and friendly, ambiance is chill. You can sit on a high top on your laptop or sit outside and chat with your friends. The avocado toast was okay, the everything bagel seasoning was poured way too heavy so it was very salty and I scraped much of it off.

Still scratching my head as I swore I wrote a review for Cordova Cafe when they first opened a few years ago. Back then, I thought the bfast burritos were good but sadly wasn't too impressed this time around. The hash browns weren't crispy and for some reason the sausage tasted a bit off as well. Don't recall avocado being previously included either. Wasn't a fan of the salad as it tasted pretty bland to me. Would've been better to use some ketchup and cholula hot sauce. Business does seem to be good as their patio seating was completely full. Will have to come back another time to try their burgers/sandwiches.

What a cute and efficient place. Conveniently located by the Pasadena Civic complex it's nice to have a moderately priced alternative to some of the higher end restaurants nearby. Looks like a hit with locals with its Happy Hour. The grilled cheese with fig was simple but delicious and pretty much what one would figure and very reasonably priced either on or off the Happy Hour menu. My companion's spicy chicken sandwich was awesome with a nice kick with the Korean aioli. I think a while piece of chicken breast might make it less slippery but then the spice might not penetrate as much.

    Avena Matcha Latte

Having lived nearby for a bit, I'm surprised I never stumbled upon Cordova Cafe. The cafe features seating inside and outside, though both a bit tight, not too much space to walk. Service was fairly quick, and the staff was very patient with my order (despite me spending minutes to decide). Wi-Fi and restrooms are available, too! Parking is a little harder to find, but there is parking available on nearby streets, a short walk away. Being a late afternoon, I settled for an avena matcha latte, which was their matcha with oat milk. I usually have matcha with regular milk, and I'm glad I tried this with whole milk. I took a seat by the window, and it was the best of both worlds. Outside was a nearly triple digit sunny day, but inside was a darker, rustic ambiance and bar featuring a more dimly lit environment. The calmer, wind-down interior was a welcomed contrast to the lightly bustling street outside. Returning? Yes! Must return to try their happy hour menu someday!

Cute little spot in Pasadena near the rose bowl. We enjoyed the breakfast options and the beer selection was great.

This bar is tucked inside Vroman's Bookstore (already one of the most charming and iconic bookstores in the area) so the entire experience feels like stepping into a warm, literary universe. You can browse for a new book, take in the bookstore's atmosphere, and then walk straight into the bar. Honestly, it's the perfect outing. What makes 1894 truly special is how intentionally it celebrates literature. Everything in the bar pays homage to the bookstore. The drink menu is full of clever, book-inspired names. Every drink feels like a little wink to readers, writers, and book lovers, and it adds such a unique charm to the experience. The vibe is super quaint and warm, dim lighting, and a creative atmosphere that makes you want to stay for hours. The wine is on the pricier side ($19-$21 per glass), but the quality delivers. Customer service was excellent. One of the bartenders spent time chatting with us. He pointed out a chalk artwork behind the bar a dramatic portrait he drew himself featuring expressive, literary-style faces, like Edgar Allan Poe, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, etc. It fits perfectly with the creative, bookish aesthetic of the bar. If you're into books, wine, and unique experiences, 1894 is a spot you absolutely can't miss. Being in a party of 4 girls coming from high tea, we were dressed in elegant dresses, first comment was asking if we were coming from church, followed by eye flutters, short "okay" with an upward inflation to a joke about the day, an impatient comment about hurrying up and trying the wine while we were talking, asked for water when we were out, were left to pour the rest of our wine, didn't ask how the food was all the while was attentive to the table behind us, the cherry on top comment was when we were discussing the bill at the end, he was hovering at the table behind ours, then when we were ready, we asked to split the bill into 2, my portion on mine and the rest on another card, he then said "this isn't like a drive through, we can't do it that way" so I asked him to explain his comment, cause it was passive agressive and rude. After he wasnt able to becuase he wasnt expecting me to call out his rude comment, I had to then break it down and specify what I had ordered, he then sold "okayyyy....so how much, cause we don't itemize?" I had to again express for him to specify how they do it cause he has still yet to explain where his attitude is coming from and explain how they do their check splits, from my understanding it just felt like he wanted to play dumb and make me to the math, one I did he was like "ohh, okay" should have asked for the manager but we paid and left, I hasnt had this experience before being a returning customer, but he needs an attitude adjustment as his attitude was completely out of pocket. Do better Manuel, you alone got your place of work a 1 star. The rest of the staff was kind, facility beautiful and food and wine was good. This restaurant is not reflected in the 1 star.

We sat in the dining room and it was comfortable... next time I would probably sit outside for a different scenery. Service was great. I have no complaints about that! It was efficient. The guy was polite and was around when we needed him. The food was delicious, but I really didn't think it was that innovative and thought it was a little bit on the expensive side for what it was (except for the cinnamon roll it was priced accordingly and so good hot!). The BLT was very average and I thought the bacon seemed a little old, good fries, but again it's not anything special. I expected more with the quiche pot pie, but it was really delicious and the endive salad was a nice accompaniment. We really enjoyed the shrimp Louie salad--very fresh and appreciated it was not doused in dressing. I had the garden Siesta cocktail and my friend had one of the spritz-- as a lightweight it did not do anything to me hahaha... All in all a nice leisurely meal, but the flavors and execution was not super memorable for the price point. No h8 though--would go again!
