The power in our living room and kitchen suddenly went out, and flipping the breaker didn't seem to do anything. It was a Sunday, and we were worried we wouldn't be able to find anyone to come out. Thankfully Core Electric was able to come out same-day to diagnose and fix the problem! Within a couple minutes he had found the issue -- our contractors who had been doing some work outside had clipped a wire that shorted the fuse to the breaker. He fixed the issue promptly, replaced the breaker and we had power again. Considering he came out on a Sunday when everyone else was closed, Core Electric gave us a fair price for the work he did, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was working. I wish I had read these reviews myself, but my husband hired Core Electric to do some work in a rental property we own. Getting a hold of them took a while since Craig (the owner) initially played phone tag, but eventually set an appt. Shane the "master electrician" came on time and disclosed that it would be $245 to diagnose in the first 45 mins-1hr and then they prorate if more time needed. We had 3 bathrooms and a patio light/outlet with no electricity because they apparently were all in the same "daisy" circuit. We were also told that if they couldn't diagnose it would be approximately a $5K job to open the wall and rewire everything and since we had just finished a pretty expensive remodel and were pressed for time to find tenants, we proceeded reluctantly. We were happy at first that Shane was able to diagnose the problem (no rewiring needed) just a previous person that came to change outlets had installed them wrong and we needed to add 2 extra GFCIs. Total cost was close to $1000. We were told the parts would be guaranteed for 30 days and the labor for 90 days. Everything was working when he left or so I thought.... The problem was that I did not have a receptacle tester with me at the time and I came back a few days later and tested the same outlets that were repaired by Core Electric and the tester read "open ground", which is unsafe and could cause a problem. Well of course we thought, no problem, let's just call them back since it's under their parts and labor warranty so they can fix it. A week later again, my husband had to play phone tag with Craig. After a few messages, Craig returned the call and defensively interrupted my husband's explanation and said that it was literally impossible to have an open ground on a GFCI and that they were new and installed correctly. My husband had the conversation on speakerphone so I heard also as Craig kept making excuses and didn't even offer to have a technician come to evaluate. Then he promptly hung up and said he had a client on the other line and never called us back. So I was left with no other option but to call another electrician who came and fixed the problem in LESS THAN 15 mins so no open grounding was left, but I had to shell out an extra $300 for a job that was not completed properly in the first place AND THEY DID NOT STAND BY THEIR WARRANTY! Lesson learned: Overpriced company when there's other independent electricians that would have charged less and stand by their word. THINK TWICE before hiring them!!! Next time I will do the research myself more in-depth. read more

I had an EV charger at my home but bought another one that would work much faster. I thought it was a simple matter of changing the outlet from a NEMA 6-20 to a NEMA 6-50. Although the new charger worked, I had to have it charge at a slower rate than what it could do. I called Core Electric on Saturday and sent them photos of my setup. The owner called me back that day and explained that I needed to change the breakers to a 50amp, and the 1/2 inch conduit should be a 3/4 inch conduit. I contacted the owner on Monday and requested they do the work. The owner called me that day, came out that day, and installed it all. The new EV charger works great and I am glad that I called Core Electric to do the work. This is a small family run business which is important to me. I had a residential GFCI circuit that would not reset. I used Yelp to find a local electrician, Core Electric. I called and was told a number to text for scheduling an appointment. My appointment window was 12 - 2 pm same day, and Craig arrived prompt and was very courteous. I showed the problem to him but works fine now (apparantly I didn't throw the breaker switch hard enoungh). Craig said it happens a lot and there's no charge. I tipped him for for his trip and he stayed to look at my panel. We discovered the new walk-in tub is connected to the tripped circuit and my understanding is it should be connected by a dedicated circuit. I'll have to followup on that.
