I highly recommend Dr. Michelle Del Bene for both functional neurology and chiropractic work…read more Out of desperation, I came to her almost 2 years after a car accident that caused me a traumatic brain injury. I had gone to many medical doctors and optometrists who could not help me improve my cognitive abilities, vision and other problems since my concussion. Identified the hidden culprit: Dr. Del Bene immediately figured out on my first visit that I had been misdiagnosed. She examined my neck and said that my neck was out of alignment. I showed her the X-ray report of my neck from after the accident that said everything was fine. She said that couldn't be true. She sent my x-ray to a chiropractic radiologist who indeed figured out that my neck was straight instead of curved. The lack of curvature in my neck explained problems that I had with my autonomic nervous system and that I wasn't having the right connections between my brain and the rest of the body. The main culprit was hidden in plain sight! Dr. Del Bene was the only one to figure out the problem even though I'd had neck pain since my accident. Another hidden problem: She most definitely takes the time to listen and to think through what are the root causes of the problem. She also suspected that I had leaky gut or dysbiosis caused by the concussion and this would account for my inability to lose weight and other problems. No other traumatic brain injury specialist I'd gone to had made the connection between the gut and the brain. I spoke to a gastroenterologist specialised in leaky gut and he corroborated Dr. Del Bene's thoughts about my TBI causing dysbiosis. Vision: Since working with her, my vision has improved to the point where I do not need to use my reading glasses to read on my phone or certain books. I can read with my normal distance glasses. I had tried five different prescription glasses since my accident and they didn't improve my sight at all. Improvement in energy, mood, mental alertness and cognitive abilities: With Del Bene's chiropractic work, the exercises on the Multi Cervical Unit neck machine and the functional neurology work for my inner ear has made my brain work better and I have more energy and my mood is better.
