This review has long been overdue. I don't know where to start, neither do I believe that the following words will reflect my true feelings towards this blessing neither will they ever do justice towards reflecting the true service and care provided by three special humans. None the less , here it is. In brief , I am a former D1 collegiate and professional athlete. I have roamed the world competing and playing Waterpolo , rowing , swimming , and finally bodybuilding. My rigorous athletic life started in Europe from the age of 13 and it came to a halt at 24. At 24, my body had given out all it can give at its extreme levels. At 24, i had accumulated enough injuries that have resulted in 3 lumbar bulges, 3 cervical bulges , and a completely uncentered, misaligned spine. My digestion was at its worse , and my sleep was non existent. I wasn't functioning anything near to what a 24 year old should be functioning. Prior to visiting core posture chiropractic, I had already visited numerous well reputed physicians and doctors and therapists, all with some of the top credentials available by some of the prestigious practices and highly honored curriculums. However, all gave me the same verse, " you've been exposed to wear and tear that cannot be healed or reversed, unfortunately , certain athletic exercises will be off limits and narcotics and pain relief pills will be the long term solution and for short term , a little bit of physical therapy and butterfly massages will do". More or less, the system provided by all insurance companies in unison with all pharmaceutical companies in aims to thrive and further turn more people into walking cattle. Mind you , all those professionals were recommended by all my collegiate and professional coaches. Until one day, a close friend of mine recommended and directed me towards Dr. Tyler. I never walked in his office with the intentions of diagnosing my physical issues, I actually attended his practice in order to see Dr.Anna and speak with her about my digestion issues and sleeping misbalances as I had initially thought that both variables were a result of poor eating regiments and the excessive eating regiments while competing in bodybuilding. After a small discussion , Dr.Anna was able to notice that my issues had no relevancy to my eating regiments, but were a direct result of my spinal injuries. She brought in Dr.Tyler, and after a few exams and simple science in biomechanics and sports kinesiology, he was able to deduce the same exact diagnoses I had mentioned up above without knowing any of them prior to our meeting. His debrief though, unlike all those accredited and merited so called doctors , in summary, everything is fixable to a degree, what dictates that level of recovery is the level of patience , commitment , and dedication I'm willing to put in. Funny enough, his words were more professional and made more sense than any of my professional coaches , physicians, doctors , of which I have been exposed to from California all the way to New York. Dr. Tyler, Dr .Anna, and their lovely assistant Vivian changed my life forever and I can never repay them as I would want for providing with the key to life , which is health. First and foremost , to all of you reading and wanting to impact and change your health to the better, realize that the body takes three weeks just to acknowledge a new habit, another three weeks to adopt the habit, and three more weeks to provide you with feedback of this habit. Any form of misguidance that can alter the behavior of this process will set you straight back to square one. What I mean by that , if you expect Dr. Tyler's diagnose and programs to fix matters in three months then don't waste your time as the body never realistically heals as such neither is it meant to. Furthermore, if your one that can't eliminate alcohol and unhealthy food regiments for the time requested by him , once again , don't waste your time as you will always throw yourself back to square one when either is practiced or consumed . This place has made such an unbelievable difference in my health! As a nurse, my body is always under a lot of stress, both physically and mentally. I've always carried stress in my neck, but in the past few months, the pain has been getting worse and not going away. My friend referred me to Dr. Tyler in Newport Beach. On my first appointment, Dr. Tyler took a detailed medical history and x-rays of my spine so we could find out what was causing my problem. TL;DR - make an appointment, you'll thank me later! One of my good friends first introduced me to Dr. Meier back when he was up in the Bay Area. It took me a while to actually schedule an appointment because I had a number of frustrating/uncomfortable visits to chiropractors in the past where the offices operated more like money-making drive thru operations than a place where you go to get healthy and centered! That being said, I definitely wish I had started seeing Dr. M sooner because I was SO bummed when he left for SoCal (unfortunately no amount of chiropractic work can fix Karl the Fog)! At any rate, I was recently down in the Newport area and reached out about scheduling a few sessions at his new clinic while I was in town--and am I ever glad I did! The fact that I'm at a desk most of the time coupled with having been a pretty aggressive athlete (D1 rowing, high school basketball--knee surgery and stress fractures included!) I've had all sorts of posture/pain issues that have gotten precipitously worse as the years go by. I have also had on-again off-again migraines that my doctors said were probably just related to recent hormone issues I had because of surgical menopause (meaning they couldn't do anything for me other than prescribe pain meds...great). With all that in mind, I was incredibly grateful that he could fit me into his schedule--even staying after hours to help work around my chaotic schedule. Dr. M initially did some x-rays and found the source of the headaches was actually being caused by misalignment of my spine! He had me do some "traction" exercises as part of a corrective chiropractic regimen. I was a little intimidated at first (you'll see what I mean about them seeming a bit scary/weird), but they ended up being really straight forward once you get the hang of it! After a couple of sessions, my back was feeling way better and I've been migraine free for a few weeks now!!
