Several years ago I had an unlimited membership and religiously went 4ish times a week and loved all the classes and instructors. Karli is amazing and does the best hands on assists, Leann and Mercer are also amazing teachers. I live only a couple of blocks away so this studio was also really convenient for me. The reason for the 4 stars is just an overall issue with customer service (as a company not at this specific location) and a strange issue with a teacher. I always got to the studio 15 minutes early so as soon as the room was clean I could put my mat down right next to the door (I overheat easily and liked having the air come in from under the door to cool me) I always left a few inches between my mat and the door though to allow other students a small path to walk in so It wasnt too in the way. I usually take the same classes at the same days/times and a specific teacher would always take the same class which was an hour before she taught her own class. My issue was that if I left the room she would come in and move my mat over and put her mat in its place or even if I was there in the room on my mat she would OVERLAP her mat onto mine forcing me to move over and even then there was barely any room. Once the practice would start she would literally swing her limbs over in my area taking up the full space when the space wasnt available. It got to the point where I was really stressed out each class waiting for her to kick me out of my spot and then spent the whole class thinking about how annoyed I was as the situation and wondering if I should have said something instead of being able to be in the moment. This is truly what caused me to eventually cancel my membership. Lastly I think the practice of not having phone lines for each location is not customer friendly at all and corporate needs to revisit this practice. I had left my workout clothes after a shower and wanted to call and ask if they could set them aside for me so they didnt accidentally get taken by anyone and obviously there was no way for me to get ahold of anyone. I also tried contacting them via chat and their corporate number today (during the business hours they should be open per their voicemail I got) and nothing. read more

The class I tried out was called Yoga Sculpt - heated with weights. It was unlike any yoga class I had ever taken. Not that I am some yoga master, but this class was great and filled with a blend of stretching, strength, and cardio. I came to Austin with my fiancé for a business convention and LOVE Core-power. When I lived in California I had a membership for 2 years. Sadly I live in Miami now and the yoga scene is poor. So I've been going to CorePower Yoga in Austin for about a month now and I still love it! They've also opened a Triangle location (which does have more parking), but I seem to go to the Monarch location more. The schedule for the C2 class just matches up more often. The teachers seem to teach at both locations too. All the teachers are pretty good, but my favorites so far have been Kourtni & Joel. It's definitely just a personal preference since everyone's practice is different. But, if you're like me, I like more stretching and balance and less bouncing around/aerobic/barre-like practice. I go to Dane's Body Shop for strength and my general work out, so I like going to Core Power to realign, relax, and get revived! The locker room at this location also seems a little big larger than the Triangle location. read more

Convenient location with variety of classes. The reason I gave this place a 3 star is because of lack of cleanses and basic Yoga studio culture and etiquette. Music is loud, they allow people to walk into the actual studio with shoes on. When I brought this up to their attention, their response was "yeah, some people walk in to set up their mat." In other cases I have seen people bring in their cellphones and cellphones have gone off during practice. Management needs to communicate these things to new clients.. read more

I was invited to CPY by a friend, for one of the free classes. I was skeptical at first but now I've been going every other day for three weeks and I love it. I'd tried yoga before but couldn't get in to it. I have pretty good-sized anxiety problems and CPY is turning into a safe haven for me. I look forward to every second I'm there. All of the teachers have different styles, but their foremost goal seems to be making sure the students are comfortable and understand the instructions. Loving CorePower Yoga during my free week. Yes, it's corporate but the teachers themselves are not. I took Terri's 6pm C2 (Level 2 flow) and loved her energy, sweet voice and direction. If you're a beginner, make sure to call and find a class that works for you. Practiced yogis - you'll realize most of their classes have go-to sequences and asanas so you can expect each class so it's consistent! Overall - Love it. Clean. Corporate, yes. But the teachers are well trained. I love CPY so much that I decided to put aside some of my hard earned money to put into their unlimited membership. :) The instructors at this specific CPY are great! I mostly do the Sculpt classes & I really like Joel and Irael. They have great music and thanks to their class structure, that one hour goes by so, so fast! Parking can be a pain after work during the week. There are slots in the parking garage, but I always opt to pay for street parking. Make sure you allot time to park and walk to the studio. MiI have been practicing for years and all over the place, and while I've only been to CPY a handful of times, I had a wonderful class with Leilani this last Saturday. It was a level 1 power class, yet flowing with her and accepting the challenge to take poses just that much deeper had me pushing things. Good workout but not for me. Instructors are inexperienced in comparison to other studios I've gone to.

I've been going here on and off for 5+ years. I've received many requests for feedback from CorePower and my feedback didn't used to be so rosy. But I feel like the company as a whole and this studio in particular has worked hard to make me a happy customer and they deserve a review that reflects that. The classes are structured such that you know what you're getting. That's how CorePower does things. What it's good for: If you're an experienced yogi, you can rely on always getting a good workout if you do the C2, C3, HPF or Sculpt classes. HPF is their take on a shorter, more sanitary beginner Bikram class. Almost all classes are heated which is good for becoming more bendy and helping get my heart rate up. The more I go, the stronger and more flexible I become. They always include core work in every class. There is a good variety of people there - male/female, different age ranges, body types and ability levels. They offer classes all day long. This helps make the monthly membership a good buy IMO. You can always make the yoga harder by doing your own pose variations. Most of the classes are 60 minutes so you can get in and out quickly. They have showers, you can rent towels and mats, they have filtered water fountains, and some parking for students. Get there early (30 mins) and not at peak times if you want to get in on the parking. They also take class pass if you can't afford the monthly membership. The weekend workshops are great and help you feel tighter with the CorePower community. Workshops are included in the monthly membership! The floor is especially soft - great for biffing it while experimenting with new inversions! What it's less good for: They offer 75 minute classes, but most are 60 minutes. You may not get schooled on the 8 limbs of yoga or get a 10 minute sivasana in a 60 minute class. You can stay after class if you really want to get that long sivasana in, but it's not ideal. Workshops are longer and a different story. If you're set on keeping any part of your body/hair/yoga mat dry, look elsewhere. CorePower is sweaty, but they keep the studio and equipment as clean as possible. If you love the benefits of Bikram but aren't a huge fan of staph infections, come here instead. If you're freaked out by other people's sweat, consider bringing your own equipment, not going to classes during peak times, and showering after class. (They provide soap and such.) If you don't have time to get to class early, you may feel frustrated by this place. You need to leave yourself time to find parking. They will lock the door sometimes a minute or so before class. During peak times, that "lucky" parking spot has already been snagged. Just make believe that class starts 15 minutes earlier than it really does and you won't find yourself on the wrong side of that locked door. Other stuff: CorePower Monarch focuses on being welcoming. The teachers share a little personal tidbit after each class and ask you to come chat with them after class if you'd like. They offer loaner locks for your locker (having your stuff stolen never feels welcoming, so they have that). When I had issues with my CorePower experience the business asked for my feedback, listened, and reached out to apologize and correct the problem. How cool is that? That I think is pretty unusual. And, it turns out, my experience there has been awesome so I'm really glad I gave them a chance. read more

I have been doing yoga here for six years. I also got my 200 hour certification to teach here. I started in Denver, then I moved to Utah and now Austin. All three cities had Corepower and I loved them all. I have my favorite teachers in each location and I still visit the studios in Denver and Utah to do yoga anytime I am in town. The Monarch and Triangle are the two studios I practice in on a daily basis. Yoga is my life and I couldn't live without it. The studio is very clean and it's great because it offers a free week so you can decide if the studio is for you. More yoga studios should offer free classes for new students! I started at corepower with the "free week" and was hooked. I was received a gift card for Christmas because I couldn't stop raving about how great the studio was! I like this studio because the staff is extremely friendly, I have not had one unpleasant experience in the 4+ months I have been there. The classes- I like that they are structured but the only way I would improve them is by adding a bit more variety in postures. Some teachers definitely have their own style but the majority stick with the "corepower routine". They are very sweaty classes so come prepared! They are vigilant in cleaning the studios and bathrooms. I definitely recommend giving yourself enough time to find parking and a spot in the studio. During peak times it can get very packed as this is a popular location right downtown. It's awesome that your membership goes to all the chains because if I miss a class I can find another one shortly after at the other locations like the Triangle. read more

This is a great yoga studio. First, it is very modern and very clean. I have found other studios really are not clean and while this kind of fits with the earthy, granola image of yoga, it's just better when the studio is very clean. Second, the teachers here are great. They are very knowledgeable and on point and are very supportive and encouraging. Finally, locations are great. And they are adding another in Domain. I'm adding an update and review on their Teacher Training Program- for those of you who have thought about it, but weren't sure if it was the right spot for you. While I cannot speak to exactly how other programs in Austin work, this is what I will tell you that *they* did incredibly well:: 1. Timeliness: Each session is structured with learning as well as discussion time- and the leaders are on-point when it comes to starting and ending on time. This is a huge deal, considering just how MUCH time you spend in these sessions. Aside from this, they time their classes around the working hours- so I could still keep my 8-5 and attend teaching sessions. Win Win! 2. Price: I looked around at several studios and found that CorePower required fewer hours in sessions, and was even significantly lower in price than several studios- and they also managed to work with me on payments, which helped me with my budget. 3. Community Classes: As a part of their Extensions Program, each week you get to practice-teach free classes that are open to the community! This was paramount to my training- and allowed me to see what it felt like to be a REAL teacher. 4. Clear Communication: I learned how to TEACH - aside from just breaking down poses, and anatomy and philosophy, I learned how to lead others with clear, concise words. This is a CorePower staple- all of their teachers are smart with their words- something that I'm so glad was instilled into my own foundation as a teacher. 5. Family: The teachers in this studio truly care about your growth and your journey. They are there 100% of the time for support- emotional and physical. I found each of them to be willing and open to answer any questions I had- meet for coffee, or a quick chat after a class- and so excited for my process through teacher training. If you've been looking for a solid studio to finally get that teacher training you've *always* had it in your mind to do-- go through CorePower- you will be SO glad that you did. read more

First of all, thank you for the new 6:30am sculpt class- life changing! I really just wanted to reach out and say that Addy is amazing. Throughout class I kept thinking 'she must have come to Monarch to teach from the Triangle'/I thought she had been teaching for years. Come to find out by the end of class that this was her FIRST class! It really makes a difference when teachers are very genuine in their words and she was so inspiring the whole time! I really like it here! The schedule is fantastic. Many classes throughout the day to choose from. However, the instructors vary greatly. Some are truly outstanding (Chelsey Ko), others are not good at all. Granted, the not so good instructors are probably very new and will surely improve. I think a lot of this has to do with CP's constant push to turn students into instructors. One other thing to note is that the classes have a specific formula. So level 2, for example, has a format that they follow each time. If you're from a city like LA or NYC, you may find this really uninspired. I don't mind the routine, but some people might. If you're a real yogi type this place is probably not for you. If you're looking for a yoga workout, this place is probably a great fit. read more

I took a C1 class with Anna and loved it! I've been doing yoga off and on for about two years now and it was great to take this refresher course that fined-tuned poses I've been slacking in. The music was great without being too loud and my jaw dropped at the locker room! It's very clean and has at least four showers for those yogis-on-the-go! They've also got a good collection of clothes and accessories, but expect Lululemon-like prices. Definitely looking forward to more classes here! read more

Beautiful space, gracious teacher, and awesome class! I am familiar with CorePower from my time in St. Paul, MN and they have a great reputation there. So when I found myself in Austin on business, I knew I had to try a class here. I took the 75 minute C2 class with Denise and learned a lot. A new yoga teacher myself, I found her cues intuitive and her sequencing creative. And such great energy! I highly recommend this studio to anyone looking for a yoga studio. read more

Attended a Vinyasa 2 class here this morning. I enjoyed it overall, but wasn't a huge fan of the 'skill work' that was incorporated into the practice. Vinyasa classes are meant to flow, and I felt that these breaks disrupted that. Skill work is for outside of the studio. Other than that, the workout was challenging but doable, and I enjoyed the instructor's upbeat personality and teaching style, and I will probably be returning. Also, if you have to drive here be warned that the parking situation isn't good. If you don't get lucky enough to get one of the few core power spots in the garage, be prepared to fight for metered street parking, even in the early hours of the morning. (Can't even imagine in the afternoon.) read more

I've visited Core Power in MInneapolis, Chicago and the week they opened in Austin. This is corporate yoga. Perfect for the Lulu Lemon Crowd. Overpriced and snobby. All about the looks. Not any meditation content or anything like it. Yes they have some good teachers and the studios are the most beautiful in the US, but some of the staff are real jerks. I have two mats and leave one in my trunk for when I'm washing the other one, so I took the old one to one of the classes and one of the staff said to me when I was leaving : OMG your mat is exploiting... yes my mat was old so what? I think overall there are very nice local yoga studios in Austin so you can avoid this kind of places that do not teach yoga but fitness classes. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT FOR FIRST TIMERS! read more

My college athlete daughter signed up for a free week and loved it so much that she insisted I sign up for a free week. My only other experience with yoga was very, shall we say, Zen. Relaxing and meditative, but no sweat. Very doubtful, I signed up and my first class (CP1level) totally kicked my a**! Needless to say, I was hooked. Now, I am a "woman of a certain age", shall we say, and most of the other patrons are young hard bodies, but the atmosphere is never intimidating at all. It's sort of fascinating, actually,to sneak peeks in the mirror and see how another person can be totally strong and flexible in certain parts of their bodies and yet can't nail a crow pose to save their lives. (Instructor Erin got me into crow pose about 4 weeks in. YES!) I have recently noticed a few more baby boomers in class, so hopefully word is getting out that this is a welcoming place for all kinds of yogis. They adhere to very high standards of cleanliness in the studios and locker room. Complimentary toiletries if you need to freshen up after class, and the whole place seems a bit like a spa. read more

Took my first core power yoga class on New Years Eve and absolutely loved it!! I've been practicing bikram yoga for quite a while and I loved how the hot power fusion class incorporated the bikram series in a fun and different way! I also loved how the room was just as hot as what I'm used to in the bikram classes and the music they play is very soothing and energetic. Definitely a great place to practice yoga and you get a free week your first time visiting the studio :) read more
