I had always wanted to try CorePower Yoga after hearing great things from friends. I signed up for their free one week trial (this applies to all studios, unlimited classes for a week). If you do not bring your own mat, rentals are $2 and if you do not bring your own towel, rentals are $1... water is $2 I believe. Lockers are provided, but you need to bring your own lock. I am surprised that there are rental fees for mats and towels, this is the first time I have ever encountered this at a yoga studio. Other studios usually have a handful of mats in case students forget theirs at home, I guess the rental fees make sense if alot of students at CorePower depend on the studio for mats. The studio is very clean and spacious. The locker room area even has several showers! I was impressed with the amount of space, the studio space for the classes has wooden floors... or what appears to be wooden floors, but softer and squishier... some type of foam? I loved it! It was easy on my feet :) I attended two Yoga Sculpt classes during my free trial. The Yoga Sculpt classes are really unique, different from your typical yoga class. It is a combination of weights, basic yoga moves (downward dog, warrior, etc) and some cardio (jumping jacks, running in place, etc). The room is heated which makes the workout that much harder. If you get overwhelmed with the heat, instructors encourage you to either take a break in childs pose on your mat or step outside the room for some air. I am so glad that CorePower Yoga is a part of Class Pass, I definitely plan on coming back for another class soon. Parking is always a hassle in Bethesda, luckily there is an underground parking garage behind the studio. Parking is free for up to two hours with validation from the studio. The garage gets zero cell phone reception so I kind of get some horror movie vibes when I am down there. CorePower Yoga's latest class ends at 9pm I believe, so plenty of people still out and about in Bethesda which calms my paranoia :P read more

I spent a lot of $ for a gift card that had nothing on it when my daughter went to use it. Studio manager said she couldn't refund my charge or add the purchased value to the gift card even though she could see 1) that I had paid for it and 2) it had never been used. THE SPACE: It's surprising how much space is in that building! I worriedly walked into the office building, imagining myself being packed into a tiny, hot room like a bunch of rotisserie chickens spinning around in the Costco oven. (x_o) Just imagine the complete opposite of that. Clean floors, tall ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, spa-like feel throughout the entire space. The locker room is incredibly spacious, containing an abundance of showers and changing rooms and fully equipped with all your basics to get you moving to your next appointment. -Mats and Towels are available for rental, for $2 and $1 respectively. CLASS SCHEDULE: CorePower provides a jam packed schedule of awesome classes to take at all hours of the day for all different levels. They definitely make it easy to fit in a yoga class in even the busiest day. STAFF: So far, I've had the pleasure of taking a C2 class with Vanessa, and she was wonderful. I'm a complete amateur when it comes to yoga, having only done it twice before. She took the time to correct my posture and explain the poses when I looked like \(°_o)/ LOCATION: Easily accessible on Wisconsin Ave. There's a parking garage under the building (Adagio Parking) and CorePower will validate your parking for you so it's free. The entrance is next to the Bank of America ATM machine; just take the elevator up to the 3rd floor. Additional landmark buildlings to keep an eye out for include CVS, PetSmart, and Staples. The high profile location of this studio makes street noise audible during class, but that really can't be helped. read more

We LOVE the workout we receive from sculpt... it's like no other! One thing we most point out though is that corepower's greed is getting out of hand! The overcrowding of the small classroom makes us feel like sardines! I do not find this experience wholesome or conducive to our yoga practices, especially when our neighbors are a centimeter away. Otherwise the workout is great and bonus points for being open on major holidays! We LOVE stasia and Lorenzo they are the royalty of Yoga Sculpt! Looking for something a little more challenging? I was tending my son who had a allergic reaction in the car before 5 minutes before the workout started and once he took his medication I rushed myself into the corepower building my appointment was for 930AM and I arrived 5 minutes after at the front desk for them to tell me I cannot enter the room after paying 40 dollars for a terrible workout. I usually go to the Virginia locations because they're close to where I work, but I came here one night after working in Gaithersburg. I was on my free week at the time and came for an 8 pm Hot Power class on a Monday night. It wasn't too busy, probably since it was so late on a weeknight. I really enjoyed the class, although it was a bit warm for me (this was my first ever hot yoga class). The website said the class was suitable for beginners, but I was glad to have had a few classes under my belt before doing this one, since it would have been hard for me to learn new poses while also dripping in sweat. However, this might be less of a problem for people who are less sensitive to heat, and in any case, the instructors always encouraged us to take breaks as needed. My instructor this time was Merideth, who was very welcoming and a great teacher. For Hot Power Flow, I would definitely recommend a towel since you sweat a lot. I would recommend bringing water to any of the yoga classes. Mat rentals were $2 and towel rentals were $1. I'm not a huge fan of driving around Bethesda so I probably wouldn't come back here unless I couldn't make it to a Virginia location and was desperate for a yoga class. There is free validated 2-hour parking in the garage by the Pet Smart (the garage is also near a CVS, if you don't see the Pet Smart); the guy manning the garage gave barely a cursory glance at my ticket before waving me through when I left, so it might not be a big deal if you overstay the 2 hours. The studio is a bit hidden away, on the 3rd floor of the building; I found it was easier to get there when I exited the garage, rather than trying to follow signs on the stairwell doors in the garage. read more

I wasn't disappointed I just feel that the CorePower yoga franchise is based more on a stricter outline opposed to independent yoga classes I have practiced with in the past. I did enjoy the experience because it felt like a more cardio based yoga workout opposed to centered and zen yoga. It was fun for a week but I definitely prefer my yoga classes at the Aspen Hill club, where it is more centered, teacher based, guided and relaxing while still providing a depth growth practice. It is a very tight space, however the yoga rooms are a nice size compared to places I've visited before. The evening classes (like the core 2 at 6:30) get packed so come early for a good spot, but ppl stagger so it wasn't that big a deal. The locker rooms are VERY tight and their are about 4 or 5 showers and 2 bathroom stalls. I took a shower once and the showers are disgusting and he got water is funny. I didn't like the experience because after the shower it's sooooo hot in the bathroom/locker room it's a struggle to dry off and get dressed. The staff is friendly and checking in was rather easy. Parking in the garage is free (2hrs) once you validate (yoga studio has stamp) , bring your own mat and towel or you can purchase both there. Locks for lockers are available for free on a first come first serve basis. Also some of the lockers locks are broken so they don't latch correctly. Overall it's cool for a free week trail. I came here not knowing anything about CorePower and thought it was just another yoga studio chain. It's not! If you're looking for a relaxing, meditative yoga experience you may be better off going to a traditional yoga studio. CorePower provides a full body workout that incorporates yoga practices into the class. I took a yoga sculpt class and enjoyed the workout. The class moved quickly and I was able to follow along mostly. The room was set to about ninety degrees which made for a good sweat. There are plenty of weights of different sizes so no one was forced to take a weight that they didn't want. The studio room was a bit tight and the class was full making for limited personal space. The instructors were very nice and helped check us in. First class if free including a free mat and towel. You do have to pay for them if you use them on a regular basis. There are changing room with showers and lockers. The locker room was small and some of the locker doors were half off the hinge. I don't know if CorePower is my style of workout, but I enjoyed my experience and feel like I walked away from a good workout. read more

I came here to attend an evening class and wasn't allowed entry inside since I arrived a few minutes late because of traffic. The main door is locked immediately when class begins and all others who arrive thereafter are denied access inside the studio. I understand that each yoga studio can do as they please; but not being able to go in a yoga class due to late arrival because of traffic takes the whole relaxation and namaste out of the process. So if you do plan to go, don't be late; not even by a minute! read more

Before trying CorePower via the ClassPass membership, I had never practiced yoga in my life. Now the Heated Power Yoga with Weights is one of my favorite classes offered in the entire ClassPass membership. I'll start with the cons, then get to the good stuff. Con #1 - Location. Far from the metro, and difficult to find. You enter into unmarked doors next to a Staples, and take the elevator up one floor. Then you walk down an empty hall until finally coming across a door with a CorePower sign on it. The signage could be WAY improved. Con #2 - Locker rooms. TINY. No room for people to move around, unpack, change, etc. It's seriously claustrophobic in there. And there are rules about how long you're permitted in the locker room before and after a class. Seriously? Is that necessary? Con #3 - Overcrowded classes. People are practically on top of one another. This makes a room that starts out at 90 degrees get to well over 100 by the end of class. The last class I took, at least half a dozen people left midway through class because they were overheated. That probably shouldn't happen. Despite those cons, this place is way worth it. I've only ever done the Heated Yoga Sculpt class, and I love it. I like to sweat and I like to leave a workout feeling tired and accomplished, which I never thought was possible with yoga until someone encouraged me to try this class. It's hot, obviously, and you start out by moving from one basic yoga posed to another (none of which I knew, but it's easy enough to follow along with the rest of the class). Then you get to the good stuff - jumping jacks, lunges, squats, all with weights. And all in a supremely hot room. You will sweat your ass off. Bring lots of water and a towel - you will need both. I was surprised at how much I liked the incorporation of yoga poses into the workout - not only do I leave sweaty and happy and a little sore, but I feel stretched out. I don't walk around with super tight calves or aching arms - the next day is a lot more pleasant that with many other workout classes. And the instructors have so much energy! I expected soft spoken, zen-like instructors with yoga, but not so with the Sculpt class. They will yell at you and encourage you to challenge yourself (within reason, of course). Definitely give CorePower a try - even if you don't consider yourself a fan of traditional yoga. read more

I was fortunate enough to have a friend who gave me 2 free weeks at corepower in addition to the 1 week all newcomers get. During that period, I mostly took C1 classes, and eventually challenged myself with 1 C2 and 1 HPF (HOT!!!!!). Before corepower, I'd never done yoga before and after those few weeks, I left wanting more! C1 Classes are a bit fast paced and the core work section def kicks things up a notch but was still doable for beginners/ sedentary folks like me. Every instructor has a diff style of teaching but the flow is the same, which can get monotonous. You can find corepower flows online if you're curious before you go. Overall, instructors are really nice. I especially liked those who offered hands on adjustments during the class. Some class times are more popular than others. I've been in the studio with 5 other people and also been in classes where there's hardly any room to move. They don't seem to limit class size or turn people away as long as there's space to squeeze an extra mat. Come 10- 15 mins before class and get a good spot. I've been a couple mins late a few times and not denied access. Mat and towel rental is available for a few $$. But I bought a Manuka mat from the studio after a few sessions. Unfortunately, it's a bit pricey for my budget so I just go to the free C1 classes on weekday evenings when I can now that my trial is over. read more

OK: studios can be bigger, music can be more updated or at least not as Top 40. Cons: their inconsistent guidelines to coming into class on time (came 4 minutes late and was denied access. 4 minutes. The class before this I witnessed a woman come in 7 minutes late and class didn't start until 10 minutes after it's intended start time,) the temperature of the rooms can be warmer. It was $60 bucks for one month unlimited yoga. Never doing hot yoga before, I figured I'd buy the Groupon, and use the free week to really get into it. So far so good! The classes are great. The staff and instructors really know what they are doing. They are chipper, helpful and insightful. I am excited about my experience with CorePower thus far and my journey with them will continue. Core Power is my fave spot for hot yoga based on my two fave classes (Fusion and Sculpt) and on my three fave yoga instructors (Amber, Ramona, and Lorenzo). I've been to studios all over town and now I expect hardwood floors, a clean studio, and a great playlist during class like I have at CP but I have yet to find it. Hot Power Fusion is a challenging, but calming class. Yoga Sculpt is also challenging and a great way to add high intensity training into your yoga practice. Certain staff members go above and beyond to make folks feel welcome- Amber, Ramona, and Lorenzo are my all time favorite yogis and it would be a huge loss for CP if they ever left. read more

Love this place! Visited for a class while in town and was blown away at the level of class and skill this place offers yogis. They have lots of great yoga gear and the bathrooms were like something from a home decor magazine! The instructor was also great. She signed me in and gave me my week free newbie deal, which comes with a one time free may rental. I did the heat yoga flow and loved loved loved it!!! The energy in the room and the personality of the instructor were adequately stimulating and calming. Loved that the class was not a typical bikram and that it offered lots of variety. I'm honestly in awe of the variety and intensity of my practice since joining Corepower. Corepower Bethesda got me with the free 7-day trial, and then with timing on my side a Groupon deal to follow. After practicing Bikram, Vinyasa, Hatha, and a variety of other categorized practices, Corepower has found a way to merge everything into any given class and fuse in a little Group X style training as well. I feel stronger from the Yoga Sculpt and more flexible from the Hot Power Fusion. The music is ALWAYS motivating to push through ever-more challenging classes. The instructors are friendly, encouraging, and provide an open space to learn and improve. I am definitely sold on this studio and their practice. read more

I love this place! I love yoga and enjoy heated vinyasa. I have made it part my health regime every since I was introduced to it in college. I also enjoy other sports especially outdoors. To me yoga is more than a workout. I see it as a way to heal my body from the stresses of the sports I practice. I am so happy Corepower opened as we direly needed an alternative to Down Dog Yoga in the area! This place is 1000 times better! The space is beautiful, great locker rooms, kind and knowledgeable teachers. I enjoy the heat here because it's not set at extreme temperatures. I took advantage of their free week for new students. Why? I needed variety from Bikram and wanted to see if there was other yoga out there that I might be missing (aside from Down Dog & Dancing Mind)! I took sculpt (core heated power yoga with weights) and hot power fusion. It's exactly what it sounds like. ADD yoga. Now, don't consider it a bad thing, as for people like me, I need things to constantly mentally stimulate me. Starting with heated power yoga with weights, I didn't have much expectation besides what the class title blatantly states. We began class with a series of yoga poses (down dog, etc.), and after 20 minutes of flow, we went into yoga with weights. Then a calisthenics dance party with blasting music. I felt like I was at the yoga version of kazaxe. I definitely felt the burn and found out about the class through a friend who told me she was going to try hot yoga with weights and I just had to. Would I try it again? Yes, but on an occasional basis. Hot power fusion was interesting. A heated series also set with light music, you go through a select few of the same series of Bikram poses, but just once and sometimes one flows right to the other. Example: the balancing head and knee pose went right into standing bow pulling pose, all while on one leg! It was a new challenge for me so I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you're not a big fan of the two sets in Bikram and want a room that is not AS hot, this is your class. Classes aside, what a beautiful studio. I can't wait to try a drop in of the same classes when the new Georgetown studio opens! read more

My go-to yoga studio! It is one of the best hot yoga studios I've been to and I've gone to a few. It's been a while since I've done yoga mainly because I didn't like the OM-like ambiance. This is definitely not one of those studios. First of all, their music ranges from a mix of edm to hip hop to country (depending on the instructor, Rachel's classes usually have a theme that her playlists revolve around). It all actually meshes pretty well. I have yet to hear a playlist that I didn't like. Second, the instructors are all very friendly and personable. They really aim to help you work better on your form and strength. Third, the facility is clean and pretty nice, although the locker rooms and bathrooms are a tad bit small. I don't have too much of an issue with that though. They have deodorant, soap, lotion and mouthwash avalialbe for you to use also. Overall I have taken mostly the Power Sculpt class which is fantastic! It is definitely challenging, but a totally different type of yoga class which does incorporate the standard yoga poses, but also some cardio (yes, in a heated room) and core, all with weights. The Hot Power fusion is definitely the hottest class out of the ones I have tried, but focuses a lot more on flexibility. Same goes with the Yoga 2 class, just not as hot. Last but not least, they have numerous classes avaliable and you can go to any location! Highly recommend! read more

If you want a good workout and do yoga at the same time, Yoga Sculpt w Weights is thee class to take. Guaranteed to sweat. The music selection is good as well! Ranges from edm, chillstep to Trey and JB (Kasia's class) haha I've been dropping in for classes for almost a year now and I still vouch for it to my friends. Membership is pricey but its $16 per a drop-in class with a student discount. Newbies get a week free of unlimited classes and if you refer a friend, you get a $5 credit. All the instructors are really nice and take recommendations really well. You can always make it more challenging by adding heavier weights. This class is guys friendly too! read more

I love CorePower. Though I am not a huge yogi (yet) this studio has inspired me to continue on my practice. The studio The staff that check you in are extremely friendly and welcoming. The restroom is very nice and clean. The studio floor is very clean and it smells like they do a good job keeping it that way. The class I have been to two classes both the HPF hot yoga. I get a huge cardio workout at other types of studios so looking for a more stretch and regeneration class and CorePower works perfect!! This place is fantastic, the only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because the classes can be very crowded sometimes. This isnt their fault, it just goes to show how many people like their classes. The locker rooms and yoga studios are clean. The entire staff is super friendly and they'll try to remember your name when you walk in. I was able to get a groupon for a month of unlimited classes, so I've taken CP1, CP2 and sculpt. CP1 to me seems like the most yoga focused class. Its pace is a little slower and it focuses more on poses and stretching. CP2 is the same poses and streches in CP1, but at about 3x the pace. Sculpt is an entirely different experience where you use weights in a heated room that reminds me a lot more of cardio with hints of yoga poses. read more

If I could give no stars I would. When the instructor is more winded than you are taking the class that's saying something. I was bored, the class was basic for a sculpt class. Apparently she was subbing for the usual instructor but still. She was scattered with her music, instructions, and flow of the class. She claims she was doing a juice cleanse for 3 days prior so wasn't sure she'd make it through teaching - news flash, we don't care! I came to get a good workout and that's far from what I got. Thankfully I am just visiting D.C. for the weekend but if I were a resident here, I would not return. I do hear good things about Deana which is who we had hoped would have been teaching so she's the only hope for giving this studio another chance. read more

After trying out at least a half dozen yoga studios in the DC area, I've finally found my yoga "home." I've taken the C2, and sculpt classes. C2 is the advanced vinyasa flow class and it definitely lives up to its reputation. It's challenging but fun. Between the music and dynamic flow sequences, it's almost like you're dancing on your yoga mat. Audra is my favorite teacher but they are all excellent and you can tell they put a lot of hard work into planning every class. Unlike a lot of studios, the classes are never the same, which is great for someone like me who gets bored easily. The sculpt class is killer. I'm no newbie when it comes to working out but this class is definitely not for the faint of heart. It's one thing to practice yoga in a heated room, but doing mountain climbers, jumping jacks and jump squats on top of a regular flow sequence in a 90 degree room is an entirely different experience. Make sure to hydrate before, during and after. What I love most about Corepower, outside of the amazing classes, is the studio itself. It's clean, spacious and the locker room/ shower area is reminiscent of an upscale spa (a far cry from DDY in Georgetown where they don't even have a proper place to change, let alone a shower.). Oh and did I mention that parking is FREE with validation? I don't think it gets much better than that! read more

I love love LOVE Corepower!! I can not say enough good things about Corpower, the facilities, and most of all the teachers! I tried a free week when the studio first opened, my only prior yoga experience being at my gym. When my week was over I became a member and have been hooked ever since. Initially I only went to C2 classes but over the past few months I have also come to love HPF and Sculpt as well. The class variety at Corepower is great because not only are there different styles of classes, but the same type of class can vary greatly from teacher to teacher. I practice at Corepower about 6 times a week and have taken class with almost every teacher there and they're all so great. Some of my favorite classes are sculpt with Nanci or Audra, HPF with Liz, and C2 with Bonnie or Meaghan. I love how teachers add their own creative flair to classes to make them fun and interesting. When I think of how Corepower compares to other studios I've visited, corepower just seems much more colorful. Class is always a great workout and afterwards I feel refreshed and totally zenned out (and often sore the next day). C2 and Sculpt especially are great total body workouts, they even manage to sneak in some cardio. I also hate working my abs on my own so it's awesome that there's always a little time set aside to do that as a class. Also, all classes are set to music, making them that much more enjoyable. The Corepower facilities at this location are immaculate. There are two large yoga rooms with tons of windows, a nice lobby area with seating and a boutique, and a super clean locker room with showers and bathrooms. I often go to straight to work from class so it's really convenient to be able to shower at the studio. Overall, I love Corepower and would recommend it to anyone looking for a hot yoga studio with amazing teachers and facilities as well as an encouraging sense of community!! read more

I love hot yoga and I very much enjoy the classes at CorePower. CP2 and sculpt are my favorite for an intense stretch and vigorous workout. The studio is nice and clean, the changing room smells great and have a very zen like atmosphere. I'm always greeted with a smile and checked in quickly. I have been to several classes taught by different instructors with varying experience. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is during some of the classes there was little to no physical instruction or hands on adjustments. I'm fine with the verbal commands but I've seen others struggle. I know teaching several classes per day can be exhausting but teacher participation would make it even better! Namaste. :) read more

I really enjoy the Yoga Sculpt Class, but alas, the music is so loud my ENT MD says it is damaging my hearing. I have noticed people wearing ear plugs in this class. The instructors have to yell so loud over the music they are hoarse. How can such a great place, devoted to health, put its customers' health and hearing at risk? read more

Great toning and yoga class and the heated room made me sweat. I really enjoyed my time here and I hope they open a studio in NY soon. I do recommend you bring your own towel and mat because they charge for those. Also, their mat is ok and their towel isnt long enough to cover the mat, so you might be slipping on your mat if you're sweating in the heated room too. read more

Absolutely LOVE this studio. First discovered corepower when I went with my friend in Colorado in 2011, and fell in love. Was so excited when they opened a studio in Bethesda! The studio is always very clean, the teachers are welcoming and fun, and there is a great range of classes from beginner to advanced. My favorite is the Yoga Sculpt with Weights class. Love the music that they play, and it's yoga and a great workout all in one! Would definitely come back if it wasn't so expensive... read more
