I got the garlic and herb bagel with plain cream cheese. My bagel was actually super good. The plain cream cheese is where I felt like more flavor was needed. All that to say I'll be back to try the chive cream cheese. Great folks, fast service and good prices.

The corned beef sandwich was darn good! Looking forward to a good corned beef sandwich all week as it's hard to get on in Sioux Falls! I was told the bagels were great so I got mine on an onion bagel with horseradish! It was very good! A step to get in so not perhaps handicap accessible! It's clean and very nice staff very friendly! But small very limited seating like 6 chairs. So grab and go! We ate in a nearby hotel lobby! All was well!

First time here. I was hungry, needed something I wouldn't have to wait forever for. Happened upon this place. Bagels are good, but I wouldn't call myself a bagel guy per se. Went in ask the gentleman at the counter some suggestions, he kindly provided some lunch and breakfast sandwich options. I went the breakfast route and got Sausage and Egg on a wheat bagel. It exceeded my expectations. The bagel was soft but not overly doughnut. Very tasty I would say a great bagel. Sausage and Egg were good as well. I would recommend this place. Food + Service make this worth coming back. I'll try something else.

Popped in here before heading off to a work conference. It was empty here around 7:30 AM, so I put in an order for a plain bagel with veggie cream cheese and a wheat bagel with butter. Very pleased they had diet Snapple available since I'm a type 2 diabetic and needed carbs because I was getting blood drawn. The wheat bagel clearly was dry on the inside. Either older or frozen. Not much butter on it. The veggie cream cheese was plentiful and delicious. Helped with the bagel, but I can't get over how bad the wheat one was. Service was great! So I think my visit was hit or miss- hopefully it's just a bad day.

I tried a few cream cheeses here and my fav was the walnut honey. It had a great light sweetness and crunch from the nuts. The bagel itself was pretty standard. It made me miss nyc ones for sure - I'm not sure Chicago is quite there yet. There isn't too much seating - it's very much a grab and go place

It's all about the cream cheese! Soft, thin, rich with a slightly tangy undertone and filled with whatever you ask for-lox or veggies as options. The bagels were good. Soft bread with a mild crunch. Toasted and comfortably warm. Service is friendly and supportive of regulars. Seats are metal and not uncomfortable but not meant to let you linger.

Bacon, egg, mozzarella cheese, chive cream cheese, everything bagel. So good! Ate in - they have about 5 stools from what I remember but I would say comfortably(ish) fits 4. It was my first time there and unfortunately the cashier wasn't really helpful with my questions so I just went for it and hoped for the best and the bagel turned out great!

It's Marathon Morning, and our daughter is running in her first Chicago Marathon. We mapped out our strategy to see her in a number of places, but on a Sunday morning in downtown Chicago breakfast options are somewhat limited, and with the influx of runners and spectators, we assumed anyplace we tried would be swamped. Corey's NYC Bagel Deli was on the way to one of our planned stops so we decided to see how the line was....and were surprised that the place wasn't packed. Sure, there was a line, but it wasn't bad at all. To say they have a lot of bagel and cream cheese options would be a massive understatement. The first thing I look for in any bagel shop is a jalapeño bagel, but sadly they don't have one. They do, however, have jalapeño cream cheese, so Jim is pretty happy with that. I'd never have a pretzel bagel before, so I thought that I'd give that a shot with the jalapeño cream cheese. Corey's also has a variety of breakfast sandwiches and a make-your-own-sandwich option as well. There's fresh brewed coffee available, and aside from that there are a number of bottled drinks available in multiple drink coolers. For as busy as they were I was surprised how fast our orders came out (about 15 minutes). I'm not going to lie, there was A LOT of carryout business going on, but the foot traffic inside wasn't terrible. The staff was hustling this morning. Whether it was taking orders, making food, or delivering food, the staff was on-the-go and worked like a well-oiled machine. So here it is, Sunday morning -- Marathon Morning -- and my wife and I are standing eating Corey's bagels in Downtown Chicago. I was 100% impressed with the jalapeño cream cheese. Not only at the amount on the bagel (there was a LOT, but that's ok because I love cream cheese), but at the taste. There were chunks of jalapeño and cilantro. I don't know that I've ever had cilantro in jalapeño cream cheese before, but this was a most excellent touch. An interesting thing happens when you stand in the middle of the street eating a bagel when the city is packed with over 100,000 extra people. Passers by notice you. At least 3 people stopped to ask if there was a bagel shop nearby. "Yes, it's called Corey's and it's two blocks down and around the corner. Just hang a left at the light and you can't miss it". I hope Corey's appreciates the business we sent their way! :)

Went to this place on a whim because it was close to our hotel. We were on our way to Einstein Bagels, but it was so cold and windy we blew right into this place. It was a serendipitous surprise. We each got bagels, I got the salmon and lox. It was delicious, but the fun was the way the worker's interact with the customers. They have a bell you can ring and they have a cute phrase they all say in unison. It's a small shop, not much area to sprawl out and eat. We opted to order takeout and take back to our hotel to eat. While waiting the owner/ workers made sure to wish a regular a happy birthday. I just enjoyed the atmosphere. Didn't have a corporate feel which is always a breath of fresh air. If you're in the area and want a bagel, check it out.

Yummy bagels... love this place - high quality smoked salmon which I am super picky about employees are awesome and love that they carry ZOA energy drinks

    Nova Lox Sandwich

Delicious fresh & soft toasted bagel. Customer service was nice and helpful, the entire staff gives a "thank you" shoutout for tipping. I ordered a Nova Lox sandwich and it was delicious & satisfying. I chose chive cream cheese and everything was fresh and equally balanced. Their potato salad is mashed, which was a pleasant surprise. Cucumbers were a bit too thick but maybe that's how they serve it.

This storefront is tiny but mighty. Serving up bagels with all your favorite toppings. I went super basic with a plain bagel and scallion cream cheese. The bagel was good could have had a bit more chew but overall delicious. The staff was friendly and extra points for stocking Dr Browns which is the appropriate accompaniment IYKYK

Manny's Deli today was an absolute gem…read more The funny part is, I had no intention of going there today. Manny's has always been on my list, but this morning I was actually heading to Lou Mitchell's. I got there, saw the line, and immediately decided I didn't have that kind of patience in me . So I changed plans, headed over to Manny's, and somehow the place I wasn't even planning on visiting ended up being exactly where I was supposed to be. I walked in having absolutely no idea what I was doing, and there was a woman standing there looking just as confused as I was. She looked at me and said, "This is my first time." I laughed and said, "Mine too. Let's do it together." And just like that, we were off. I decided I wanted breakfast, so one of the guys pointed me back toward the first counter and told me, "He'll take care of your breakfast. If you want anything else, come back and see me." Perfect. I ordered scrambled eggs with corned beef hash, hash browns and toast, then worked my way down to the hot bar where I added some macaroni and cheese and a knish. And THAT was the move. Everything was really good, but the mac and cheese and the knish were the stars of the entire meal. Manny's is famous for the gigantic deli sandwiches, but after today, I'm convinced the real adventure is working your way through that hot bar. The sides are where it's at. While I was waiting in line, one of the guys behind the counter noticed my Dave Matthews Band shirt and started talking music with me. He told me he liked Dave and that he was a huge Phil Collins fan. I told him I'm a Phil Collins guy too, and we ended up having this completely random, genuine little conversation about music in the middle of a busy Chicago deli. Before I left, I told him I was glad he shared that with me and hoped he had a great day. We laughed, said goodbye, and went about our lives. And honestly, that little interaction was almost as good as the food. That's what I loved about Manny's. It didn't feel polished or manufactured. It felt like Chicago. Great food. People actually talking to each other. A little confusion when you first walk in. A stranger becoming your temporary partner because neither of you knows what the hell you're doing. A random conversation about Dave Matthews and Phil Collins. And somehow, by the time you leave, you feel like you were part of the place for an hour. I went looking for Lou Mitchell's today. Instead, I accidentally found Manny's. And I'm really glad I did. Manny's, I'll be back. Next time, though, I know exactly what I'm doing.

With a recommendation like that, I was ready to try anything. Parking can be a challenge in Chicago, but they had a lot in the rear of the restaurant, which was nearly empty. I strolled around to the front and walked in. I wasn't ready for it to be a cafeteria-style eatery, but it really didn't matter. The ambience was kind of cute. Lots of black and white tiles for a retro feel and some historical pictures of the founder. I ordered the 1/2 sandwich and cup of soup lunch special. Matzah ball was my choice of soup and my half sandwich looked huge. I was ready. I tasted the soup first. The broth was clear, and the matzah ball was large. I like hard matzah balls and soft, so it didn't matter to me which it was. What surprised me was the lack of chicken soup flavor. The matzah ball was spongy and not particularly tasty. On to the sandwich. The first thing I noticed was that the carver didn't pull a chunk out of a steam cabinet. They had a slicing machine running constantly forming a mound from which the carver grabbed a handful of corned beef, then a handful of pastrami, which had already been sliced and griddled to add to the corned beef. I asked about the smallest size side of chopped liver they could offer and he gave me a tiny chilled dose sized cup of liver pulled out of the fridge. So far I wasn't impressed. The chopped liver tasted very good but it was hand chopped and in large pieces with very little schmaltz. The sandwhich wasn't anything special. Not hot, not piled and the pickle was a kosher dill, not a half sour. I left half of my half sandwich, the pickle (except for the one bite), and even some chopped liver. For the cost of this average lunch , I would have rather eaten at my favorite deli in Atlanta and had tongue which wasn't even on the menu at Manny's.

I stopped by on a Saturday around lunchtime and it wasn't too busy. There were some long benches and some regular tables, making for either a cute dine in spot or solid carryout option. My dining partner and I split the Bombay chulet- while a bit on the pricey side, it was definitely enough for two people and evened out. One bite into the sandwich, she said that this was the best one she'd ever had. It was hearty but no one ingredient overpowered another. The meat was very fresh and I absolutely loved the spicy fig chutney that gave the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The cheese was so creamy that it sort of melted in with the aioli, which was also very balanced well proportionally. However, the fried crunchy onion bits really took it over the top for an explosion of both taste and texture. We left very satisfied and already planning when we would make a return visit. I can't recommend this spot enough and will definitely be back soon!
