Cocktail mixers bottled in glass, made with real sugar and quality juice catch your eye. An array of sauces, pasta, teas, dairy, dressings and fresh desserts to choose from. I left with some arugula and a personal key lime pie. The key lime was so fresh and absolutely delicious. Prices were to be expected, service was decent and plenty of parking out front. Now that we're living in The Catskills, my quest to find that similar market prototype I grew to love in Westchester, continues. I had forgotten hubs and I came here before during one of our bi-annual trips to The Catskills. Recently though, when I searched for produce markets near work in Highland, Wallkill View in New Paltz popped up within a short driving distance. As you drive past all of New Paltz bustling shops and restaurants on Main St, you'll soon approach a sleepy farmland area overlooking Mohonk Preserve in about 5 or so minutes. I've been hard-pressed to find a market that tops my favorite one in Westchester and checks all the boxes. Wallkill View grows and sells a nice mix of produce the area has to offer. And when veggies and fruit aren't grown on-site or in season, they're sourced from elsewhere. Unlike other farm markets that operate only Sat+Sun, Wallkill V. is open everyday. Well...almost. These folks shut down for Christmas and throughout the winter- reopening in March. Prices are about $1 more than what I paid down in White Plains- but hey... I get it. Service is great though.

Crisp and sweet, the Winesaps had a little tartness but still great. We picked up some goards and little pumpkins too. They're priced pretty well and have a good variety. The best pumpkins are picked in the patch, for $2 each. We got some heirloom tomatoes and some cider donuts to take home. The donuts need to be heated up for 20 seconds in the microwave, but they're very good. Why they didn't get 5-stars: The labels could use some work around the orchard. I always find it frustrating when orchards don't label the paths. They give you a map, but it's not very accurate.

The parking lot overflows into the hs parking lot but there's someone directing traffic. They've got portable toilets which were actually clean. They had two food trucks which had an assortment of flatbreads, hotdogs, and fries. Bad seed had a table serving up their own cider and some local cider. The pricing was affordable with a pint for $6. The docs Pumpkin cider was so good. The apple picking was further in and there was signage directing you to the area. They have 3 different sized bags ranging from $25-$42. We opted for the middle size $35 to fill 20-24lbs of apples. The $42 tote was for the same amount of apples but you paid extra money for the tote. If you brought the tote back to reuse you get $1 off next time. They offer these tools to pick the apples that are high up in the trees for $5. They gave us a map and was told there were tractor stops throughout. If our bags got too heavy we can leave it there and they will transport it back for us. Each bag had a ticket stub so we keep one and can pick it up after. This was the first time I saw something like this done for apple picking. We started all the way in the back and they had a ton of apples. The hike up was very steep though but the views were amazing. The shop sold Apple cider donuts which were freshly made. They also sold an assortment of apple cider with the different apple varieties. The honey crisp apple cider was my fav.
