Craving for Mediterranean for dinner tonight, so I randomly search on Yelp and found this hidden jewel! First time here... My friend and I ordered the house combo kabob platter entree and kofta for appetizer, which was recommended by our server Alex. Both dishes were amazing- very impressed with the flavor- and just enough salt to enhance it. Very well balanced healthy choice and good portion. The hummus came with our entree was delicious, and the garlicky white sauce was so good for dipping everything including the pita. Service was great! Alex did well on explaining the menu and gave us recommendations. We also met Vic the owner towards the end of our dinner- what a nice guy and knows his food... we gave him our positive feed back, and of course all empty plates- we ate EVERYTHING! The restaurant is clean and spacious. I ordered shawarma and my friend ordered beef kebab. Beef shawarma: this dish is served with rice, green peppers, tomatoes, tabbouleh, and hummus. It's a heart dish! All the flavors blended and complimented each other well. The shawarma wasn't tough at all, it was cooked through YET soft. I highly recommend this dish. Finally had the chance to try Corfu. Why didn't we try them sooner!! Had both breakfast and dinner here. Both meals were delicious. Breakfast we had the pancakes, bacon, and egg special. The pancakes were amazing. Nice and fluffy and a great batter. Had an omelette as well and the eggs were cooked perfectly with just the right amount of fluff. Dinner, we had a combo kebab platter and the mousaka. The chicken and beef kebabs were so moist and tender. Great flavors. The mousaka was great as well. Usually at restaurants, you get salty food, but all this food were perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of salt. The kids loved their spaghetti as well. Cozy restaurant in the city of Sierra Madre. We came here on a Sunday for lunch. Not too crowded, nice service and great food. We ordered their combo plate, came with hummus, pita bread and also a "salad" greens. Price is reasonable, around $12 per plate. It's big in portion too. The reason of only 4 stars has to be the air conditioning.. We came here during the heat wave, and obviously the AC in the restaurant cannot outbeat the heat outside.. It becomes a bit uncomfortable at the end.... But it's over 100 degree outside, can't blame them if AC is out powered!! read more

You are able to call in reservations, or phone in a pick up order. My meal: Greek Village salad with chicken. ($2.00 to add chicken) Salad was delicious. Tomatoes, cucumber, bell peppers, onions, greek olives, feta cheese and oregano swam beautifully in the sea of olive oil and red wine vinegar. Chicken was moist and perfectly seasoned. Appetizer: Tzatziki and Pita. Large portion. I can't get enough of that stuff. I would recommend it if you want something fresh and enjoy somewhat of a tart taste. (Great to balance out spices) Drinks: Charming man suggested I try Hillas a Greek beer. It was great. Crisp taste, they also have wine but if you like beer I would suggest you try Hillas. So we Thelma and Louise it to Corfu, thank god for GPS, we were lost! Cold sampler platter, two different kind of hummus, one was creamy and one was creamy but with a slight kick to the flavor. Served with an Empanada thing filled with feta and basil insides, deep fried lightly for the crunch. Ground beef wrapped in broken rice deep fried, that one was a bit dry but slap some hummus on that and your good to go! Chicken kabob combo, hummus, basil tomato salad and rice pilaf. The serving size was a nice helping, I was only able to eat 1/3 of my meal, I was too busy stuffing my face with hummus and pita. Corfu is a small, unsuspecting restaurant tucked in the middle of downtown Sierra Madre. If I'm craving tsatziki or a chicken or steak kabob, this is my place to go!! My dinner typically starts out with an order of pita bread and tzatziki. They give a generous amount of tzatziki so I can never finish it. The dinner I order comes with hummus and tabbouleh as well, but I share those with my husband. My favorite favorite course is the House Specialty Combo, but I love the chicken so much, I substitute the Lula with another chicken kabob! The garlic dipping sauce is divine and I usually double up on it (my husband just LOVES when I breathe and sweat garlic). The service here is always friendly....sometimes on the slower side, but it happens...the food is worth it! Vic, the owner is super friendly and kind and greets us whenever we are there. There is outdoor seating, with about 5 tables...and guess what, they're dog friendly!! If you ask your server, he/she will bring some water out for your furry friend! Dena O. and I grabbed lunch here last month. Apparently her family has frequented this place since she was a small child, so I was looking forward to trying them out. We both got their Gyros Sandwich: ground lamb and beef, tomato, onions, parsley, and tzatziki sauce, rolled in a pita. It normally comes with a small green salad, but of course we both replaced that with fries. It costs $1 extra to do so but it was worth it (I'm not a fan of salads). The gyros sandwich was great. It was warm and refreshing all at the same time and quite delicious. And you can never go wrong with fries. Since it was a nice day, we sat outside so I cannot comment on the interior of the restaurant. But it seems small but cozy, neat and well organised. Our server was very friendly and constantly checked up on us. The restaurant is very casual, as most places in Sierra Madre are, and there is always plenty of street parking available. It was an enjoyable meal but I probably won't be back just because I don't come to Sierra Madre very often. A Greek restaurant with the worst greek salad. I ordered a greek salad to go. I told the hostess I'd be outside. She said she'd bring it out when it was ready. Since I thought she may have forgotten about me I went back in. She said, "Oh, he must have forgotten to bring it out." I said, "Ok no problem." The bigger issue is the salad. Most authentic greek restaurants use high quality feta and put them in chunks in your salad in addition to high quality olives. No such thing here. Imam we think could be better if they included the grill tomato on top of the rice. Our favorite was the Melitzanosalata, the roasted egg plant is so additive!! The service is good, except they are too busy and they forget what you ask them for. Very authentic Mediterranean food. I probably should be a little upset about our most recent experience at Corfu, but something about the laid back attitude of small-town Sierra Madre keeps me from getting riled up about anything. The first problem (not their fault at all) was that I went to Corfu because I was in the mood for a gyro and it turns out they only serve them for lunch, not dinner. The main problem was that it took over an hour from when we sat down to when our food was delivered to us and there was no mention of the delays. The servers were friendly enough and we were in no particular rush that evening, so no harm, no foul. We ordered a cheese boreg appetizer, but two of the four pieces had cold meat in them instead of cheese. The server said that they didn't even have these on the menu which worried me a bit. To their credit, they did quickly produce four fresh new pieces that were delicious. Our server brought us a side of baba ganoush (cold eggplant dish) complements of somebody in the back, but unfortunately nobody in our family enjoys that particular dish, so we didn't have quite as much appreciation for the kind gesture. The main courses were all good and were sufficiently filling that we could not attempt desert that evening. Though this wasn't a spectacular experience, I'm sure we'll return again to Corfu, because we enjoy the feel of Sierra Madre and because there seem to be very few Greek/Mediterranean options in this area. read more

Like many of the others have mentioned Corfu is okay. I wouldn't run back but I wouldn't write an aweful review about it either. A friend and I had a coupon so we thought we'd try it for lunch. She ordered a gyro and I ordered the kabob plate. Both of us ate most of the food so it was totally edible, but we also both thought it was bland and lacked flavor & salt. I thought gthe humus they brought out was okay and I like the tabboulie (sp?) It was nice and lemony. The service is slow. When we got there, there were only 2 other couples dining and it still took about 20 to 30 minutes to get our entrees. The waiter was very nice and polite however. Pretty good food. We tried the house kebab combo ($17.95) which has a beef, ground beef, and chicken kabob along with rice, grilled pepper and tomato, and a side of hummus and tabouli. We also got the moussaka ($14.95) which is kind of like eggplant lasagna which comes with grilled vegetables and a side salad. They also provide complimentary pita bread with a green sauce. The sauce doesn't have much taste to it but I liked the pita bread. Service was good. The restaurant itself is pretty cute with some patio seating. The beef filet kabob was our favorite and the hummus was pretty good. Would come by again if we're in the area. read more

This place is excellent. It's a modest little restaurant, but don't let the outward appearance fool you. The place has large portions of extremely fresh and delicious food. I had the fattoush salad and the grilled vegetarian sandwich. I I would've know how big the side salad was going to be I would've just order the sandwich alone. But all of it was crisp and fresh and brightly color, which is a good sign. And it tasted as good as it looked. The grilled vegetarian sandwich was also a surprise. Usually when you order a vegetarian sandwich you aren't expecting to be wowed. But this sandwich had some sort of creamy cheese spread, which mixed perfectly with the grilled assortment of vegetables. It was pretty much perfect and it hit the spot. This place is a 9/10, I will be coming back and I highly recommend that you stop by for lunch or dinner. read more

Our first time here and we are glad that we came :) The food was really good and the staff was really friendly. The service was really fast and they were accommodating to our group when we didn't put in a reservation beforehand. We got a bunch of appetizers that were a mix of Greek and American that filled us up quicker than expected since we kept ordering appetizers. The pita bread was complementary and went well with their hummus. My boyfriend and I shared the House Speciality Combo that allowed to sample all the different kebab meats available. There was also live musician playing some old school music to set the mood. My boyfriend and I went here on super bowl Sunday. (During the super bowl might I add.) Even though the game was on in the back dining room, we never had an issue getting the attention of the staff. The best Mediterranean food in the San Gabriel valley! Honestly, I've ordered many different plates here, eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner, and everything is abundant, fresh and delicious. It's a family-owned restaurant with a wonderful view of the San Gabriel mountains. You can eat in 2 different dining areas or on the front patio. The owner/chef, Vic, comes out to greet his guests occasionally during the daytime. The servers are all stellar! On the weekends you can enjoy some night time music from accomplished local artists. I especially enjoy when Jane Fuller sings and plays her guitar with Mike Gallegos on electric guitar because they do pop, jazz, and cool rock tunes, but they don't play loudly. It's so fun to walk around the local town after a delicious meal at Corfu, too. Specialty shops and historic buildings are nearby. After the Covid shutdown when things are reopening, I went been back to Corfu last night. Big fresh salad with olive oil, tomato's and cucumber. (Not a la carte, included with entree) Then a great vegetarian baked eggplant dish that was just so perfectly tender. A glass of nice Malbec and watch the sun go down outside on the sidewalk.
