This place is NOT GOOD. We stopped in recently for lunch, since it had such a great Yelp score, but we were thoroughly confused as to why someone would enjoy the food. The dip we ordered had so much garlic in it, that we couldn't eat it. I personally love garlic, but this had 5x the amount you should have in any dish. We also ordered some chicken and rice. The chicken was very lemony and Very salty, and the rice (which is supposed to have salt) had no salt and was mushy. I could only get down a couple bites, and then just told myself that I could find something at my house to eat. Also, weirdly enough, when the waitress came to take our plates and dips away, she didn't say anything about everything having 80% left on the plate. Which means she either doesn't care in the slightest or she's used to people leaving lots of food on the table. read more

I'd go back simply for the live music offered on Friday and Saturday evenings! Corfu is good, not great. If I had nothing to compare it to - Adana, Raffi's and Carousel - I would say it is a very good "go to" restaurant if you have a last minute craving for Mediterranean food and don't want to drive to the Glendale area. Corfu is located in a quaint town and the restaurant itself is very quaint and cozy. We did, however, have to wait longer for our meal to come out than most restaurants we dine at. What we ordered: The Sample Platter consisting of Hummus, moutabel, sarma, tabbuleh, kofta and cheese boregs and pita bread. 3/5 Chicken Marsala was very good House Specialty Combo comes with chicken kebab and lula kebab. Tabbouleh with salad, rice and grilled pepper and tomato 4/5 Greek Village salad Take note that the entrees come with a small salad, so ordering an entree salad was unnecessary. Salad was not crisp and on par with any other average restaurant 3/5 So Corfu, keep the Friday and Saturday musician with the guitar. We have lived in Sierra Madre for almost 4 years and have never been here before. Thought I would grab a quick bite before getting my nails done. Ordered the basic green salad with Greek dressing. If you can win me over with a basic salad, I will be compelled to want to try more complex dishes. I was envisioning a lovely fresh salad with homemade dressing - oil & vinegar & yummy spices. The salad was brought to me with the dressing on the side (guess they don't hand toss here) and it was just a generic Italian style dressing out of a bottle. What? No Greek dressing at a Greek restaurant? Also, some of the lettuce was brown and going bad. But alas, another salad disappointment. The service was good and the ice tea was good, but that's about where it ends. This is why we have to go to Pasadena for a decent meal... sigh. read more

Tried this place twice in two years, and unfortunately, they were just as cheap and inflexible the second time as they were the first. At the first visit, I got an overpriced appetizer platter, because it seemed like the best meal option for a vegan. But the substitutions made for meat and cheese were not substantively equivalent. And when I had pita left at the end but no more hummus to eat it with, we asked whether I could have a bit more hummus but were refused. We'd have to buy more, they said. My friend, who ordered a chicken dish, was given far more hummus simply as the accompaniment to his entree, and for less cost than my appetizer. Yet they couldn't manage to give me any bit more, despite my meal being insufficient for $16. At the second visit, almost two years later, we asked for a bit of sauce to accompany a spanakopita, and though a tad surprised it was not included, we offered to pay for a small portion. But again, we were refused. They wouldn't sell us just a little bit; we would have to purchase an entire tzatziki appetizer, much more than we needed. The lack of such touches demonstrates a frugality and apathy that will surely rule out a third visit. We return to restaurants that have no problem with such requests, and there are plenty of those. read more

Decided to drive to Sierra Madre for Breakfast and came upon Corfu's. I was greeted met by the owner Fig and enjoyed a fantastic meal out on the Apron in perfect weather. I Had a great conversation with Fig while learning about the history of the town and enjoyed all the folks and dogs strolling down the sidewalk and Bicyclist riding down the Boulevard As far as the menu, they have Breakfast , Lunch and Dinner with many items. I saw other meals being delivered to tables and everything looked delicious and smelled great. Don't pass up this little gem of a place and meet the owner. Thought it was going to be really good, but it unfortunately, was not. Not sure why such high ratings. Food was not good at all. Salad was pretty basic and dressing nothing special. The pita was so thin and dry. The meat quality was decent but just not flavored very well. If I lived in sierra Madre, then yes, I'd probably go back to it. This place we happen to run into as we were staying in Pasadena looking for a healthy choice for lunch. We happen to spot Corfu and decided to give it a try. We loved everything about it. The hummus was some of the finest tasting we have ever eaten and the sampler platter had all the great sides like tabouleh, rice, Greek salad, and hummus. We tried the beef kabob and chicken kabob. Everything was so delicious and top notch! The kids shared the chicken fettuccini and I had a bite of their's and was extremely impressed at how delicious and amazing our food was. Everything I ordered was delish but their Greek village salad was incredible full of good feta and fresh tomatoes cucumbers and olives. I highly recommend it. I also ordered the Moussaka and it came with a side of veggies and was really well made and the veggies were delish. And their hummus was very good and the right consistency. Best garlic sauce EVER!! I ordered the house combination which came with 1 beef skewer, 1 chicken skewer, 1 lulae over rice pilaf and hummus, pita and tabbuleh on the side. And of course, a container of garlic sauce. The hummus was so creamy and delicious. The tabbuleh was tart and fresh. The meats were all fantastic but the chicken was my favorite. Super flavorful and yummy! In fact, everything was super flavorful and yummy! The garlic sauce was the perfect topper to everything. Aaaamazing food and service!!!! Just came from a hike and having lunch here was so refreshing. Definitely recommend the combination kebob plate if you're looking to try a little bit of everything! The food was quickly devoured because of how delicious it was. The chef/ owner came in and checked in on us wanting to make sure everything was alright. The waitress was very attentive and kept making sure our glasses were never empty. New favorite Mediterranean spot! Checked it out for dinner earlier this week and so glad we did. My go-to dish is usually a chicken breast kabob plate and Corfu's version was delicious. I was really impressed with the flavor of the chicken, not bland in the least. I like that the meal was served in courses. Started with the bread and herbed dipping oil, then our own individual dishes of hummus and tabbuleh (bonus points for not having to share ) then the main dish with rice, grilled pepper and tomatoes, chicken and some herbed onions. Everything was so flavorful. Very attentive, kind service. And to top it off, it's a few dollars cheaper than my usual fave. Suh-weet! Easy parking since it's in charming Sierra Madre. This place is a mixed bag. Some food was good, like the tabbouleh, but the hummus had way too much salt and the baba ganoush wasn't much better. When we complained to the waitress about the hummus and asked her to tell the chef, she reported back that he said "no one has ever complained about it before" and "everyone loves it." Dang, idk why but our GPS really gave us a tough time finding this place! They do have an outdoor parking area and also back lot parking that's free for 2 hours. yay! Ordered - [x] Lamb skewers - This was the best!!! The meat is from New Zealand and it was so juicy and tender! They really cooked it to perfection! Came with side salad, a yellow bell pepper, hummus, fried onion, and tabbouleh. The tabbouleh was quite good too, it's got more hint of herbs to it too. [x] Gyro plate - came with a large portion of side salad. The gyro meat was hot and the sauce was delicious. The pita bread that it's wrapped in was soft and chewy too, amazing! [x] Sangria - Mmm, very delicious! The drink comes with chunks of fruit in it, but it's got more of a melon hint to it. Really refreshing! I used to come here a lot when I was in high school (like 8+ yrs ago). It was nice how they had patio seating and people would bring their dogs. It was very neighborly and cozy! I admit I only liked their breakfast and lunch sandwiches (grilled vege and chicken brie!) ..so that's all I ever got. So I decided to stop by here recently to get breakfast. I guess they changed ownership? But the servers are still nice. It's not as busy as it used to be, I think there were a lot more regulars before. Anywho, I ordered the Lucky Baldwin Omelet and it came with potatoes and a side of toast. Everything pretty much tasted the same. My friend also wanted a side of 1 pancake and they were very accommodating. Overall, I think the food still tastes the same (breakfast at least). But I admit the vibe of the place isn't the same as it used to be. I still like eating in Sierra Madre every now and then because the city itself is really cute. read more

I love Corfu! I can never get enough of their food! Don't let the name fool you...they have a lil bit of everything. They have the best Eggs Benedict anywhere to be found in LA or Austin for that matter! It's always perfectly made and tastes even better with a glass of mimosa... The Greek Village Salad is scrumptious with feta cheese...and I love the Gyro plate. The Mousaka & stuffed cabbage rolls are divine and if you are fortunate to have the Tiramisu when it is specially made...you will want to lick the plate! The new owner, Amy, has definitely changed things up by adding a lunch buffet and the service is always very friendly. They also have a backroom for large/private parties, as well as catering. Yet, I love sitting outside on the patio overlooking the mountains of Sierra Madre, especially during perfect Southern California weather! Oh...how I miss it all! read more

I really like the food here. The Mediterranean food tastes great, from the kebab, to the rice, to the overly sumac'd but luscious Lebanese fatoush salad. I've never had the breakfast dishes but they look good, too. Our particular favorite is the deep fried cheese beoreg. I'm salivating just thinking about it. We haven't tried the non-Mediterranean food; we tend to stick with each restaurant's core competency (e.g. eat Italian Food at an Italian restaurant). Although we will support this place forever, some of the smaller details keep us from coming more often, like better tableware (plastic cafeteria plates?), non-greasy menus, empty plates to share appetizers, and a little friendlier service. It would not take much for this place to be the best in Sierra Madre. read more
