    Hummus & pita bread
    Stevo O.

Celebrating the Olympics by dining on Greek food seemed right, so we had dinner at our long time favorite Sierra Madre restaurant. My favorite is anything with a Gyro sandwich and a side of pita bread and hummus. The service here is remarkable, and is very quick and friendly. This Friday evening also included entertainment, with a guitar player and background music, providing a wonderful and entertaining evening.

    Moussaka Dinner

Came here with some friends on a Friday night as we were craving Mediterranean food. Got our seats pretty quickly and I ordered the moussaka. Moussaka was actually really delicious but I'd say it wasn't worth how much it costed. The items on the menu are quite expensive for so little but perhaps it's due to inflation and being in downtown sierra madre. I enjoyed the eggplant casserole but it was a bit on the sweeter side, tasted and smelled a bit like cinnamon on top which was weird. The vegetables were plain, nothing too fancy. This dish also came with a salad. Service was fast and efficient and there is indoor and outdoor seating.

    Lucky Baldwin Omelette

After enjoying a relaxing massage across the street, we headed to Corfu for brunch on a recent Sunday. We were seated immediately and it was great to see that brunch is served until 2pm on weekends. I ordered the Lucky Baldwin Omelette filled with chicken, cheese, and onions, accompanied by hash brown and sourdough toast. Hubby opted for the House Combo Platter, which included chicken kebab, beef kabab, and lule kabab. It is served with rice, pita, hummus, and tabbouleh. The portions were generous and everything was delicious. While I couldn't finish my omelette, my husband managed to clean his plate! The only downside is the food came out really slow. Despite the restaurant not being busy, we waited nearly 30 mins for our food. Because of this, I have to deduct one star. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, and while we found street parking, there's also a lot in the back.

Me and my wife came and stumble over with this beautiful Turkish Armenian restaurant. They serve an implacable variety of Mediterranean and Spanish breakfast that will truly make your day. We recommend that you come and check them out. Their top notch friendly service and fresh grilled Cofta, Lamb, chicken barbeque shawarma with Turkish complimentary coffee will truly make you want to come back over and over again.

Stuffed cabbage rolls. One is missing because i ate it before i thought of photos.

i know i'm hitting my stride here now, having found this restaurant. most anyone this side of preschool can find a good, not to say great, tacqueria when it's needed. but i've reached the end of the line with mexican food for awhile. what i was desperately in need of was fresh salad, specifically a greek village salad. this isn't as easy to come by as it might seem out here in suburbia east of pasadena. in fact where i'm from it's impossible to come up with a real greek salad without crossing a fairly large bridge. plenty of italian, not the best either, but no greeks will have us. (PLEASE somebody who knows how move up north, we need you). i happened to mention this to a youngish woman in a grocery store and sure enough this place came with her highest recommendation. fortunately she seemed to me to be someone likely to know. so the salad was simply made as it should be, and generously sized almost for a complete dinner. to supplement we had stuffed cabbage rolls which were really well flavored, and came with veggies cooked just so. as we were leaving the waitperson (is that really necessarily the best way to describe her? no) recommended a great italian place nearby. my next outing will be there. just like doctors, you only need to find one good one to find the rest you might need. it's not corfu here of course, but I'll be back soon.

Honestly, I was so pleasantly surprised by Corfu. Their service was great. We went for a Mother's Day brunch, and we had a number of ladies and I have to say our server was so patient answered all of our questions and even made a pot of decaf for the ladies! The owner even came by and introduce himself and checked on us and it's just a great family owned place. The food was really tasty (forgot to take pics of some of the dishes!!!) The only thing I would mention is that I wish their salad had the Mediterranean Fattoush dressing. Their beef kabob was so tender and their rice was perfection!! Love their picked veggies!! Can't wait to go back!!!

When I left, the tables got packed. I tried the platter for two, which came with a load of delicious rice, three proteins, roasted tomatoes and peppers. I enjoyed pairing it with their tahini and garlic sauces. The service and hospitality were amazing. Shout out to Ari, she is the best and really made my dining experience seamless. The food is delicious and the prices are appropriate given the portion sizes. Service was prompt and professional. Parking might be a challenge, though there are public lots within a block or two. We went on a Friday night and encountered heavy traffic from the local farmer's market/fair. The best item was the Beef kabob, 5 out of 5 stars. It was perfectly cooked, a very simply salt and pepper seasoning, juicy and simply divine! We got the kids meal, which came with only 4 pieces, and I'd be interested to return for the full adult portion. Also a 5-star experience was the Fried cauliflower appetizer. It had just the right amount of crispiness, without any blackening, and the garlic/parsley/lemon juice combo worked well. The juice was sucked into all the crevices, and overall it was light. I think I could have eaten two portions myself and called it a satisfying meal. I did dip in some tzatziki, which worked great too! Lastly the Chicken shawarma was a 4-star dish. Still delicious and I'd get it again, but it was slightly salty from the marinade and added sauce. I was expecting this to be wrapped up, but it was more an open-face naan with the chicken covering the top. Rice pilaf was savory, I'd rather not know just how many calories are included, the rice was still moist even after reheating the next day.

I couldn't have been more wrong. Now I'm kicking myself for every day I passed by hungry without stopping in. I actually knew the food was going to be good the moment I walked in. The owner didn't put on a performance or overdo the customer service. There was a quiet confidence that said, "The food speaks for itself." And it absolutely does. The chicken was perfectly grilled, juicy, and seasoned all the way through. Every bite had balanced flavor instead of just seasoning on the outside. The beef kebab was done exactly the way it should be, tender, smoky, and packed with flavor. This wasn't fast food quality. It tasted like something you'd expect at a catered banquet or family celebration. Then there were the sides. The hummus was incredibly fresh, smooth, and creamy. The salad was crisp and vibrant. But the biggest surprise was the Armenian pilaf rice. I don't know what they do to it, but it completely stole the show. It was rich, buttery, perfectly cooked, and so flavorful that I honestly ran out of words. Fresh pita, generous portions, authentic flavors, and food that tastes like it was made with pride. If you've been driving past this place because the outside doesn't catch your attention, don't make the same mistake I did. Walk in once, and you'll understand why the food is what keeps people coming back. Five stars without hesitation.

Go to Raising Cane's or another Chick-fil-A until they get things figured out. The employees have been consistently nice, so this isn't about the staff. The problem is the food and overall execution. The yogurt is frequently melted, and the wait times are extremely long. This is a newer location, so hopefully Chick-fil-A corporate is paying attention to these reviews. I honestly think they need to send a trainer or someone from corporate to help get this location up to the company's usual standards. I'm not someone who normally puts much weight into Yelp reviews because they can be overly negative, but when a Chick-fil-A is sitting in the 2-star range, I think that says something.
