Portions were large, inexpensive and the staff was friendly and attentive. My pulled pork salad was good, my mom had the spaghetti and said it was good. My husband had the ribs and sausage and really did not care for either. I tasted the ribs and thought the flavor was great (wet rubbed) but the top was very hard and chewy, the inside on the bone was good though. Rolls were hot but needed to be more crusty and why skip and use buttery spread instead of butter? The banana pudding was good and huge portion size! Well, I read all the reviews about Corky's being so great, so I figured why not! I have eaten BBQ all over the country, but have been told that if I ever go to Memphis I HAVE to have the BBQ. Well, this was just around the corner from the Agricenter, where I happened to be working, and I was in. Well, Corky's has a new fan. The atmosphere was friendly, the staff could not be more gracious, and the food was a home run. Pulled pork was juicy and tender. Beans--well, how can you get excited about beans? But these were beyond the usual beans. And the slaw was the best I've ever had. No kidding! I came to visit this location for lunch while in town for work. I sat at the bar for about 10 minutes before I got up and asked the host If I could get served as I was on a time line. He replied they had no one to serve me! Even though there was another gentleman sitting there eating, and he stated there where 2 people helping him. Although not very willing to serve and were absent. This place wasn't even busy!!! I was completely confused and turned off by their staff members lack of customer service, and respect. Ok restaurant. I wish I knew the ribs were spare and not baby backs. The menu doesn't specify but the price led me to believe they were back ribs. Service was very good, but disappointed that they lacked the ability to specify the ribs they use. The dry rub was too overpowering to the point I had to scrape it off and douse it with sauce. It took 20 minutes to get our drink order and another 10 to get our order taken by our somewhat arrogant server. After ordering we waited another 30 minutes to get food that was cold and tasteless. We were never offered refills and never saw our server until it was time for the check. YUM! Ordered the Big Daddy Combo and glad I did. I opted for the ribs (wet), pork shoulder (wet), and chicken (wet). Pork shoulder is pulled pork and this was out of this world. The chicken was the surprise though - nobody in my crew had eaten it there before and it was outstanding!! The ribs, were very good. But I thought the pulled pork and chicken were tastier during my last visit!! My recommendation is to try out there spicier BBQ sauce. I love Corkys BBQ. As a matter of fact I crave it from time to time. And the drive thru in Cordova makes getting Corkys easy. But the last couple of times I brought my BBQ sandwich home there would be at least one large piece of fat in the pulled pork. Though I still enjoy the sandwich and set the fat aside, it's a huge turn off while eating my meal :( read more

I ordered online. I waited 20 min at the drive thru, then when I got to the window they said they couldn't give me my order. They already had my cc info and completed the order online. I ordered the big daddy and quite a few extras. This was for three friends of my that have had baritric surgery. They have. Been being good, and wanted a taste of Memphis. Apparently even though the menu allows it, you can't order one person wet ribs, n one person dry. I talked to the manager, he didn't care that I had driven from olive branch just to get my friends a special treat. Apparently costing corky's an extra dollar on a 70$ tab, wasn't worth his time. read more

I ordered the jumbo pulled pork sandwich. The portion was generous but the pulled pork was cold, DRy, I mean very DRY! and had no flavor at all. I was shocked at how bad my food tasted. When my waitress finally arrived back to my table, I explained that my sandwich was dry and cold. I prefer at least warm food. The waitress said " I will tell the kitchen about that" and walked away leaving me with cold, dry tasteless food. This service and the food was the worst. I am ashamed to have to post this. Now this is delicious BBQ! The ribs are so very tender, meaty and flavorful. The pulled pork is okay, but the two Corky's sauces really make the grade. By the way, the slaw alone may be worth the trip here. And the European dinner rolls? The best ever, anywhere. Seriously. When I ordered dinner last week, I accidentally chose the Poplar location for pick up (instead of Germantown Rd.) I don't know what BBQ is like for out of towners, but I am sure that Corky's stacks up taste wise. I have never heard an out of towner say anything bad about Corky's and I am not going to either. I will say that I have had better BBQ in Memphis and much less expensive BBQ in Memphis. When you get Corky's you are getting the name, I guess. Also, at the Cordova location I always seem to get bad service. That being said, it has always been packed to the brim when I am there so that may be a reason for the less than good service. This location is stuffed into a shopping center, as most things are in Cordova, so the parking is HORRIBLE! It is so hard to find a parking space. The same goes for the original Poplar Ave location. My big gripe about Corkey's as a chain is that this is Memphis' best known BBQ joint, but they don't get BBQ spaghetti right. If you are expecting or wanting to try true southern BBQ spaghetti don't try it here! They bring you a plate of spaghetti and a side of pulled BBQ. Try BBQ spaghetti at Miss Polly's on Beale. I like Corky's on occassion, but it is average at best, at a little higher price for BBQ. If you're from out of town and looking for atmosphere with your food definitely go to Corky's. If you are looking for good BBQ, take your pick of almost anywhere else. read more

Good bbq at a good price. Service could have been better. I had the wet ribs and chicken combo. Tasted great. We went with a large group from work and as most do the tip was already included - I wish they wouldn't do that. We would have tipped more but instead went with their tip. I sometimes think Corky's gets knocked just for being "the big guy". I wanted to take my elderly mother her dinner Friday night and she requested catfish. Recently, I saw where Memphis Most gave Corky's the nod for catfish. This is a risky item for takeout, for obvious reasons. I went through their drive-thru. I was told to pull up and wait, and eventually the server came out and asked for my ticket. I'm not sure what the confusion was, but I asked her if she could ensure that my order would be good and hot. She said she could. After a somewhat understandable short wait on a busy Friday night, I arrived at my mom's house with piping hot catfish and hush puppies. I was quite impressed. They even threw in a banana pudding for my wait. The quality of the meal I received for ten bucks far exceeded my expectations. read more

Let me first start by saying, I have NEVER had such incredible service ANYWHERE! From the time we walked through the door, until we left. Our "SUPER server", Ms. Stacy was hands down the best server I've ever come across. The restaurant was obviously very busy and I never once saw this young lady write ANYTHING down. I had to just sit and watch, waiting on her to make a mistake or maybe even get frustrated...it did not happen, all while keeping a smile on her face. My family and I frequent Corky's often, and we've never had her to wait on us. After finding out she only works there on the weekends. I'm not from Memphis, but when I stopped over few years ago, my buddy took me to this place. Wow! I can't say enough good things about this place. I tried both wet and dry and it blew me away. The meat is tender and juicy but bursting with flavor. Ever since I tried Corky's, my life's been ruined. All the ribs I get don't match up and disappoints me. I wish there is Corky's in Chicago. While visiting family who recently moved to the area we decided on take out. Searching online for local BBQ corky's came up, I clicked on the Website and was very impressed with the layout and easy to use website ordering process. We ordered a meal for ten that included pull pork, ribs (wet), slaw, rolls, buns, beans and we added on a tray of mac & cheese. Pull pork was great, ribs were excellent as well as the beans, buns, rolls and slaw were also very good. The only reason I can't give them 5 stars is when we got our hot food home and sat down for the meal we realized the mac & cheese was frozen solid?? Did I miss something on the party pack discription? ? So as the directions said on the tray of mac to cook from frozen bake for 45-50 minutes! We ate our other hot food while the mac cooked and by the time it was done almost an hour later we had finished dinner. We put the mac in the refrigerator and had for lunch the next day. The mac tasted good but would have been a 5 star meal the previous night. read more

I love Corky's. It's a nostalgia thing. When I was a kid, I always looked forward to our trips "to the city" to stand in land for some good ol' bbq. Now we can get it whenever we want at this location. Sure, there are tons of great bbq joints here, and Corky's may not be everyone's fave, but it's certainly an established institution and a place where memories are made.
