I tried this place for the first time, and I will definitely return. The service was fast and polite. Albeit, I visited mid-afternoon on a weekday. I was allowed to fully customize my burger. It was perfectly cooked and quite delicious. The dining area was acceptably clean. I liked that my meal was delivered to me at my table. Next time, I'll have to try some other items from their menu. From my travels in Texas, I was very familiar with Whataburger. So, a few months after this location opened, I went there for breakfast. The lady at the counter was so rude to the customer in front of me that I walked out and never went back. Recently, I heard someone raving about the food and service. Also, I noticed the number of vehicles in the drive-thru and parking lot increasing. So, I decided to give them another try and I was DELIGHTED! First off, Lajayla (Cashier/Server) provided EXCEPTIONAL customer service and the food was delicious! The restaurant was very clean, including the drink dispenser and surrounding area. A friend and I went to this Whataburger location for a quick bite. We went through the drive-thru. It took about five minutes for someone to acknowledge us. After that, we waited about another five minutes for our food to be ready. My friend ordered buffalo wings and fries. I ordered the Sweet and Spicy Bacon Burger and fries. The fries were nothing special, to be honest. The fries definitely needed more seasoning. The Sweet and Spicy Burger was good. I did like the sauce they used for the burger. I would have rated my experiences a three just for the burger, but the services knock it down to a two. read more

I finally saw a short line, so we had to try it. The order process is similar to Chick-fil-A. Two people with tablets taking orders and payments outside. No inside dining is available at this time. They were really accommodating for my vegetarian needs. The staff was friendly and the line moved fairly fast. The only downside was that I saw the menu after I ordered so I missed out on some things I would have loved to try. The food was hot and tasted very similar to the Jackson MS location. This location is coming soon. At the time of this posting, the framework of the building has just been laid. It's Update: I initially added a review months ago because someone added it on Yelp before they officially opened. Now I have experienced it and I wasn't impressed. I live about a mile away and have seen & heard about all the hullabaloo, with long lines etc. Since i had the burgers before, I figured I'd try out the breakfast since it appeared that only 4 cars were ahead of me in the drive thru line before 7am. So, considering the 2 months of training they had before opening, surely this wouldn't take long. Wrong. 30 minutes later, I was presented with my food. After also waiting 6 minutes after paying. (I think they started on my food after I paid). Anyway, I assumed the honey chicken biscuit would be larger and perhaps have some premium quality, considering the price. But it was kinda tiny. It was tasty though. My husband did not like the taquito (that resembled other restaurants' burritos since it wasn't fried). I thought it was ok. The cinnamon rolls were pleasing. Nothing over the top good. But better than average. My husband and other friends reminded me that this is called WhatABURGER and I should've known better. The way I wish I could give zero stars. The first time I've ever been visually assaulted by an employee at this location. After waiting 10-15 mins without hearing a thing from anyone, I'm greeted by being told I'd have to wait 15 mins. When I tried to ask why they wouldn't just say that when I pulled up instead of letting me (and several other cars) wait all that time, I was interrupted with attitude. Then she went to the next speaker before I could order, knowing I was trying to order. Then when I pulled off, she flipped me off with both her hands. Just absolutely egregious behavior from a BOTTOM TIER employee. Y'all can do better than that. Went to McDonald's right down the street and received great customer service. The Whataburger of old is no more, the thing that used to make these hamburgers great is no more. They used to have better garnishes, mustard, mayonnaise, shredded lettuce, chopped green onions and tomato slices on a toasted bun. You could taste the green onion and tomato. The old Whataburger sold out and is not the same. This is not a bad hamburger, it is just not the burger people remember. Service is slow, a double meat burger, fries and coke is $11.25. read more

My wife and I were in the drive-thru for 1 hour to get our food. Beware that you will have to wait at least an hour in the drive-thru, and it is hard to leave the line once you enter it. I hope this gets better over time. The food isn't as good as I remembered. The burger tasted like a Sonic burger, which is not that good. The fries were nothing special. The shake and the onion rings were delicious, however. I also liked their pepper sauce and their spicy ketchup. read more

Okay. I'm going to be as honest and polite as I can about my experience. First of all, I'm from Texas. I ate at Whataburger all the time. It was what it was...a burger joint. As of late I have seen people begging and pleading for Whataburger to come BACK to Memphis. I avoided the line the first several weeks. As people were going nuts with the hype; "waited in line for over two hours and it was SO worth the wait!" and "waited in line for over an hour, but this Texas boy was thrilled to get the best burger there is." I'm not sure what drugs these two happened to be on, but Whataburger, being pretty darn good, was not the best burger joint in Texas and not the best here. The burger was decent. Nothing to complain about, but also nothing to go this insane over either. I'm glad we waited a few weeks. Went through the drive-thru the other day in under 11 minutes. Burgers were good. Really good, but NOT near the hype that people have built them up to be. What I did notice was that Whataburger has made massive improvements on, however, is their fries. As far as "fast food" fries go, it's hard to top McDonald's (when they get theirs right). Well, I knew the second I pulled them out of the bag, Whataburger was going after McDonald's. The new fries were almost, spot on, the exact same as McDonald's fries. All in all, people in the Mid-South should be thrilled to have Whataburger back after leaving the area over 30 years ago. But don't listen to the hype. If you get caught up in all the smoke everyone is trying to blow up your back side, you're going to be disappointed. If you go in with no expectations, then you should be pleasantly surprised. Make sure to get the specialty ketchups, as well. Decide which one is going to be your "go to". I hated to say anything negative about Whataburger, and I actually haven't. Instead I'm just pointing out that people need to ease up on the hype. I thought maybe Whataburger had done some insane improvements on their new locations, when all they've done (really) is just stepped up their game on their fries. Sad :( The burgers were big yes, but not tasty at all. Nothing like in Texas or Midwest. Cookout has was better burgers for fast-food compared to this location. They forgot our Onion Rings and sauces, no napkins and the sprite tasted like the syrup was out, just carbonated water but not even the good kind. The service here is slow to put it nicely. We had one car in front of us at the drive thru and it took 12 minutes once we got to the speaker for some to take our order. Lately my Whataburger experiences have been going one of two ways: either "Wow, this is a great burger" or "I'm never coming back again." Wish they could find their groove. These burgers are really good when made correctly. Going back tomorrow for a refund because a 3 a.m. burger run turned into a 4 a.m. homecoming with the wrong order $25 later. Yikes. Note: I have seen one of the male managers at the Macon Road location really trying to whip these employees (mostly kids) into shape.
