I have eaten there are number of times and I've been never had a bad meal about experience. Great food great people.

Great menu, have a private room you can order off the menu unlike other places that have limited menu

The service was excellent. Unfortunately the meal not so much I had a 19 ounce 55 day dry aged steak and it was over burnt it was still medium rare for the most part thou. And management did take 40 off the bill. My girlfriend got the sword thing. Her lamb was tough and also burnt. Which I'm ok with some char on it but when you have crunchy bits of burnt stuff that fell like grit in your mouth it's not so appetizing. We spent $140 or so. And I honestly feel like it was a mediocre meal. I've been their another time time and it was the same experience. We just figured we would give them another shot. So needless to say we prob won't be back anytime soon. And I hate to have to say that. One final note maybe it's just my taste buds or the burn on it but I wouldn't waste your money on the 55 day dry aged steak. But the service once again was excellent read more

Finally getting around to my review of Corndance after my husband and I visited them for dinner this past Sunday evening. I have been there 4 times now and the crowds have definitely died down as we were able to just walk in and get a decent table in the bar. I have only eaten in the bar area, which I love but will have to be patient some day and wait the extra 10 minutes to get a table in the main dining room, just for the experience. Even though the hype has died down a little, I would still recommend planning ahead and making a reservation for prime time Fridays and Saturday nights. I have always had great service here and the bar area is just plain fun. I did notice I didn't get quite as attentive service with my husband as I did dining with my girlfriends (wink, wink). In my experience, the wait staff in the bar area are very attentive, flirty and just like to sit and chat, especially on a week night. This even netted me a free martini one night and trust me, I am well past the point of guys buying me drinks! They made the evening fun but just bordered on being a little intrusive. Martinis are fabulous and huge, which is reasonable for the price. Many different ones to choose from and they change the menu frequently, which I appreciate. They have a wonderful wine list with a wide range of prices, all the way up to super pricey. Decent beer list too and I can't help but be impressed by anyplace that puts New Holland's Dragon Milk on tap. But, the food. Almost everything I have had has been excellent. I love their concept - fresh and local as much as possible. Portabella fries were yummy, buffalo and short rib burgers wonderful (but PLEASE be specific on how you want it cooked- they lean towards the very rare side), crab cake yummy...my only complaint so far is the pizza, at least the 1 I got on Sunday. It was WAY too done and the crust was like a brickette. I should have said something and sent it back but was pretty darn hungry. If it came out that way again, I definitely would. All in all, I think Corndance is a breath of fresh air in the middle of all the cookie cutter chains in the Grape Road area. I found it very startling to be staring out their windows at a Chili's across the street because their dining experience really makes you forget where you are for a few hours. read more

Very good, not quite great. The food was excellent, service very good, and atmosphere just okay. Given that the locale is a former chain restaurant on Grape Rd., the lack of atmosphere is understandable. Why couldn't they open this in downtown SB in a spot with more character? We ordered the bison bites app and they were meaty and flavorful. The artichoke dip was some of the best I have tried, and the Grouper special was the best piece of fish I've had in the Bend. (I would compare it to something you would get at Timothy's on Red Arrow...The veal was decent but certainly not spectacular. Will certainly be back, and will probably try the bison meatloaf and wood fired pizza, which both looked delectable. read more

Went here for dinner a couple of weeks ago. We were visiting my sister who currently lives in the area. We were there on a Saturday night so of course there was a wait, but it was well worth it! To start, we had the Pear Ravioli & the Portobello Mushroom "fries". The ravioli was incredible - the combination of sweet and salty was done very well. We almost regretted not getting it as a main! The mushroom fries were interesting - although I wish I'd known they weren't actually fries! They are strips of portobello mushrooms fried in a tempura batter. These were still pretty good but a little greasy for my liking. For mains, we had the Monster Bison Burger, Pepperjack Mac and Fettucine Lobster & Shrimp. The burger was outstanding! Very juicy and presented in a really interesting way. The pepperjack mac was also really good. How can you go wrong with mac and cheese?! The fettucine was our least favourite but that's just because it wasn't something that different from what you find at other restaurants. Portions were generous (no room for dessert), service was great, would love to go back again next time we visit my sister! read more

Well I have to say my expectations were pretty high based upon the recomendations I received from family and freinds. We had a 7:00pm dinner reservation for eight of us and we were sat right about 7:10 on a Sat night wich was prety busy. I was initially impressed with that , however the next 20 mins we waited just to order our drinks soon showed me how the night was going to go. The whole reason we went was to try the Bison/Buffalo steaks which they (according to their own website) are known for. They were OUT! The waiter said the Bison steaks were so popular they ran out...what? He said Friday they served 75 steaks. I guess 75 steaks seams like alot in South Bend , however we came in from Chicago and 75 Steaks are what Didka's , Morgan's , Sullivan's or Lowrey's serves in an HOUR! So they did have a Bison appetizer...a thinly sliced piece wrapped around a scallion...The waiter said they just won an award for it! I guess if it was warm it would have tasted better. All in all the food was just OK. If I want to go somewhere in South Bend and have food that "pops the senses" in your taste buds , I'll stick with The LaSalle Grill Downtown or Tippecanoe Place. Just as a final note: Our waiter claimed to have been with the owners for 7 years at their other location. Well not sure what that location is , however I imagine it's a bar......he messed up and gave my brother a Gin and Tonic instead of Vodka...when brought to his attention he appologized , then Picked up the Full Drink and "CHUGGED IT" right there at the table! I couldn't beleive my eyes! WOW- real classy! read more

This is my new favorite restaurant. Worth the spurge. Steak cooked to perfection. I was in town on business and heard this was a must try. Well that was no lie. When I visit a high end restaurant and pay a premium price for the experience, I guess I expect perfection in every way. The atmosphere is great, the service was great, the Margaritas we're good and the food was ok with the exception of my filet being overcooked. I ordered it rare and it came out medium to almost well done. I was disappointed in this way only. I didn't want to send it back and they probably would have brought me a new one had I said something. I didn't have time nor did I want to complain. The bottom line is at $160 for two dinners and 3 drinks, I feel it's overpriced. Personally and for the same money, I would rather eat at Ruth's Chris. I've never been disappointed there. read more

This place is pricey but it's delicious. Sometimes they've got good lunch specials that are not so pricey. If you want the dry aged beef plan ahead and make sure they got enough cuts for the day. Our server did make a couple mistakes with the order but he happily corrected them. My pork rice was very delicious. Rice was just the right amount of toasted, pork was done perfectly. Nutella sorbet was on nutty and flavorful. Will be back! read more

OK I finally went after driving by a thousand times and hearing the hype. The food was good and up to boasts. The service was excellent. The use of buffallo meat and alternate cuts of beef in the foods is absolutely commendable. Variety in a locale like this is most appreciated. Decor was rustic chic, which I like. I didn't check out the bar but they have one. Here was the one hitch. I had a buffallo slider that was undercooked. Wow-- how do you undercook a slider that has this thin little patty? That was gross and a real screw up that I didnt expect for the price. They fixed it but the one bad bite kind of ruined my appettite. The best thing was the corn muffin with smoked ham hock. Wow that was fantastic. I will be back to try the sword entree, some kind of grilled meats on a little saber. read more

God's favorite place in the area. Very pricey if you order entrees and drinks, but worth every penny. Always go with some kind of bison with your meal, it is their specialty. Their burger is massive and is served on some kind of torture device with 17 different sauces. That is one thing about this place, they like to put sauce on your sauce, so you can dip while you dip. Had to review Corndance Tavern, just to be certain it stands out from the crowd... If you're in the area from out of town, skip the chain restaurants, go to Corndance! This place knows food!! The chef is from the former Czech Republic, came to the US and opened Mike Ditka's place, as well as many others, in Chicago. He wanted to get out of the city and opened his first Corndance restaurant in little Culver, In. Now he's in Mishawaka, and the food is simply amazing! I wanted to like this place because of the locally sourced, high quality of the food. However, the experience was really bad. The food is pretty good, but the management and customer service are absolutely horrible especially considering the price. We made a reservation well in advance and showed up 15 minutes before our reservation with the intention of having a drink at the bar before starting dinner. We checked in with the hostess/manager and she seemed utterly confused, which should have been our first clue. We went to the bar to have our drink while we waited...and waited...and waited. Finally, about 20 minutes after our scheduled reservation we checked back in with them. Long story short, we weren't seated until over hour after our scheduled reservation. We understand that sometimes things happen, but no on apologized or offered a free drink or dessert or anything. I ALWAYS offered customers a comp if there was a problem when I was working in the restaurant industry, this is just basic business. So, the dinner goes on and they are out of everything that made us select the restaurant for dinner in the first place. The food was good, but very disappointing for the price. They are trying to go for creative dishes and the flavor combinations would be good, but it seemed there were major issues with execution in just about everything. So, the poor execution and poor service leave the place with 2 stars only because I applaud the idea behind the restaurant. I probably won't give it another try...too much hassle to drop well over 100 dollars for dinner. read more

We started in the bar with Katie the bartender explaining the wine choices and specialty cocktails. Modestly price drinks and great craft beer selection. He ordered the Mongolian Beef Brisket and I ordered the Brick chicken. To say the least, it was gross, tastes dry, and messy (food looks like it was slapped together for a toddler) it shouldn't be this expensive considering how poor quality the food was. read more

There were issues with our waiter the second time, I guess he cut his hand so there was some confusion with our order when we were given a waitress to replace him, a drink I ordered was never brought and we ordered two desserts but were only brought one (some miscommunication on our part and hers.) However, the mistakes made were rectified very professionally by her so it was no big deal. Otherwise, yummy food and my son liked the aged meat. I liked the Creme Brûlée. Good food good service. My issue was I called three weeks in advance for a specific menu item for a birthday party. The item was a featured meal, not regular. I offered to buy as many as needed to have it , was assured it would be on the menu day of party. Sure enough, didn't happen The excuse was because of Notre Dame home game they had to stick with regular menu. Hosted a group of 12 for a celebration. Had a super private room and fantastic server, Jessica. We had a range of entrees from the signature, huge, buffalo burger to sea scallops, tongue tacos, etc. Everything was presented beautifully, appropriately hot and without exception, got a rave review from the recipient. Great selection of regional craft beers on tap and an extensive, but not pretentious, wine list. Overall the food and drinks were phenomenal . In terms of food, it was probably my favorite meal that I have had in this area. The one thing that irked me a bit was that my girlfriend ordered an aged porterhouse, she received a bone-in ribeye, and the waitress didn't switch it out for the right steak. I asked the waitress if she was sure that my girlfriend received a porterhouse and she said "Yes, I definitely put the porterhouse on the ticket order." I let the waitress know that when the steak was brought out, the server that brought it out even called it a ribeye when he set the plate down. Our waitress asked who brought it out and then said the server was wrong and that she'd make sure he doesn't do that again. At the end of the meal, we received our receipt and right on the ticket it said "bone-in ribeye". By then, my girlfriend and I decided to just pay and leave rather than cause any trouble. The ribye tasted great, but when you pay over $50 for a steak, you kind of expect to receive the right cut. read more

Hit-and miss. Eggplant rollatini came out refrigerator-cold, but covered in hot marinara. My 8 oz filet was good, and well cooked, but nothing special, just what you expect from a $40steak, but again, cold vegetables as a side. The wines were good, and reasonably priced, but my Pinot noir came out over chilled, and late, as I was finishing my steak. I was on the road and was tired of work and being away from home and this place just really made me feel warm and relaxed for the first time this week. Great beers on tap, nice quite music and some television activity that wasn't knocking you out of your chair, and I had the Pepperjack Mac and it just knocked my socks off. No wait to sit at the bar and the wait staff was attentive and friendly. While a bit pricey for beer and mac n cheese, it's a place you should treat yourself to every once in a while because at the end of the day, it will be the best mac n cheese you ever have. .
