We found this sandwich shop on Yelp. Oh, man, this is a good sandwich. My partner and I got an advertised special: 2 subs, one large fry and two cans of soda for $24.99 (plus tax). I got a tuna sub, which comes with mayo, lettuce, tomato, onions and hot pepper relish. I liked the texture of the tuna and the fact that there's a bit of pepper mixed in. The bread is soft and tasty. In the future, I would probably request a bit more hot pepper relish. There's a lot of tuna in the sandwich. My partner got the cheese steak. In the case of the hot sub, the bread was toasted, which provided a nice crunch to the bread. My partner told me the sandwich was delicious. (I took a couple of bites - I agree.) The fries were nicely prepared and crunchy and a huge portion for splitting between two people. The restaurant has been at this location for 65 years! It's nice inside - clean and light and comfortable. The folks working here were friendly and helpful. Yes, the place is hard to find. It's hidden to the side of a 7-11, which is right next to a gas station. But it is well worth a visit for a good sandwich. There's a nice variety of sandwiches and salads available. My boyfriend and I wanted something quick to eat for dinner since it was already 10 pm but we didn't want fast food and still wanted something in the area of Rockville. We ordered coke, fried, turkey club sandwiches and wings. All good options. I placed our orders on uber eats for pick up and They had our food ready within 10 minutes so good service in my opinion even for pick up. It's a small, casual restaurant that's in the corner and next to a gas station. A bit easy to miss but would recommend ordering here again. read more

Pretty decent, easy-breezy spot to stop by if you are in the area. While walking to the bus from the gym, I decided to stop by because I was in starvation mode and my bus was running late. I ordered a Philly Cheesesteak sub combo (fries and a can of soda), which was about $13. For the amount of food I received, I thought it was a fair price. Overall, I thought the the food was pretty good, and I absolutely loved how the fries were seasoned. Mike & Songs has a very extensive selection of hot and cold subs, so customers definitely will find something they will like ... at least on paper. Although this seems like a place were people get food to go, Mike & Sons has some indoor and outdoor seating. While the outdoor seating is connivence, I opted for indoor seating because the sub shop is shares a parking lot with a 7/11 and a very popular gas station. read more

I would have to recommend one NEVER gets a calzone (and likely pizza if the calzone is any indication) from here ever. It looked odd from the start. There was supposed to be ricotta cheese in this particular calzone and it was MIA. Additionally all the cheesy goodness was missing as you can see in the photo it wasn't even melted. Which is likely why the dough for the calzone also tasted raw. This calzone was also expensive, very expensive because there were a few add ins. You can see from the photo all the raw dough pulled away so you can see the inside. I can't say anything positive about this item even their sauce is abysmal and I had to throw the calzone away. The only reason they don't get one star is because they made my SO's hash browns and corned beef hash extra crispy. read more

The pizza was some of the worst I ever had regardless of price, but the price was laughably overpriced for something that tasted literally worse than frozen generic grocery store pizza. I only bought it because I thought the idea of pizza from the 711 next door was gross. Boy was I dead wrong. $11 for a tiny piece of garbage. Making pizza at home on a piece of toast would've been 10x better and I paid $11. Fooled me once... Chose to eat it inside and had to listen to the two family members working the front register argue really loudly with eachother for 15 min, then I ran out and will never ever make the mistake of coming back here. Food was good, the fries were crispy, everything was fresh. Bacon, bread, steak, everything was delicious. Also they got the order right! I always worry when ordering four or more similar meals that they will not get it right, happens too often at fast food places. Seen 3x different owners and although things have changed, it is still my recommendation for Phillies to any one that will listen. For whatever reason the online system wasn't working so when I arrive the food wasn't ready. The owner and/or manager was soooo friendly and quickly had them make my food and offered a drink for my wait. When I started to eat the fries they were so yummy. Perfect soft to crunchy ratio. I decided to try this place because I've heard they have great subs but was disappointed. I ordered the Italian hoagie for pick up and I live right down the street so I was there in five min but by the time I got home the sub was soaked which you can tell from the photo. It was also assembled very poorly. The sogginess could easily have been avoided if you put the meat on the outside and all the veggies and sauce inside surrounded by the meat. The meat to veggie ratio was off. Ton of deli meat and barely any lettuce and tomato. Not very appealing I only ate a little bit of it. Their online menu on the website cuts off after pizza so you can see anything other than pizza and appetizers. Not all menu items have ingredients listed under them. read more

I see the years have not improved this place. What a shame...a salt lover's paradise...as before--they overtly salt EVERYTHING. I had throw my egg salad sandwich out....my daughter reports that even if you go there in person, or if you have it delivered; there is no difference in quality.The staff never listens to anything you say or ask for. Went back to Mike and Sons and the owner was as nice as ever, but they got our order for pick-up wrong. I asked for the lettuce and tomato on the side for BP's, but they were put in the sandwich making it pretty large (overstuffed) and soggy by the time he ate it. The meat was savory (we had one chicken and one steak), but that's because of all the salt in the meat. The texture and appearance of the meat was good, though, no complaints there. I also remembered to ask for no grilled onions on my sandwich (from last time) and glad this was not overlooked. I thought that the sandwiches could have used more cheese, as well. read more

I am reluctantly rating my experience with three stars because the food here is hit or missed and the prices are decent. The wings that I ordered were supposed to be spicy but they were greasy and salty. The steak and cheese was missing the steak and the cheese. I got nothing but bread lettuce and a little bit of greasy steak. Look at the price for steak it's not cheap and I ordered the large steak and cheese. I also feel that the Italian sub that I ordered was low on meat and cheese. I actually added more cheese, more pickles and mayonnaise to this particular sandwich. I don't know if I want deliver anymore from this place I believe if I do eat from them again I will be in person so I make sure that I get what I'm paying for. I do not recommend this sub shop. I've been there 2x recently including just now, during the Montgomery County mask mandate. The guy working behind the counter was again not wearing a mask and the 2 patrons, with no food in front of them or anywhere nearby, were also unmasked. I called to let them know I had walked in and right out and wasn't coming back until the mask mandate was over ... maybe. I certainly don't want an unmasked person making my sub.
