I walked in early on a Friday as the very first patron of the day and immediately felt a cheery, welcoming atmosphere that only got livelier as the bar filled up and parties started settling outside as well to enjoy the beautiful day. Erin took great care of me at the bar attentive, warm, and on top of everything. Big compliments to the kitchen as well. I believe Melissa and Paul were running the show back there, and my corned beef Reuben was incredible. The real star? That fresh, delicious rye bread--it made the whole sandwich. Onion rings were a great choice too nice and crispy battered type. This place has steadily gone downhill, which is unfortunate. I've had to have my food sent back because it was raw, I've often had to wait over an hour for my cold food to show up... The kitchen staff is frequently drinking which I honestly don't mind until it becomes ridiculous. On a busy night like a Thursday, you'd think they'd all hustle but there's usually just 1 bartender busting her ass trying to keep everyone served while the rest of them are hanging out back drinking. This place has a lot of potential if the owners cared a bit more and looked closely at how the establishment is run. If not, it'll just keep heading downhill as it is now, to become a dive bar reserved for a handful of regulars. read more

This is your quintessential North Eastern neighborhood tavern. A place a local walks in and the bartender makes the drink and places on the bar knowing where they are going to sit. I dig this. And the locals are very easy to chat with. They have a full well stocked bar, and some good beers on tab. Menu is okay (they seem to offer daily specials) and very reasonably priced. Couple of nice big televisions. On a Monday night - CASH only... but they do have an ATM. Kind of located by itself on 85. I will visit again the next time I'm in town. read more

I grew up in this town and this place was always the one that you went to when you didn't want to shower before going out to have a few cold ones. That part really hasn't changed - however the food is great - better than great actually. Order your food at the bar - if you can get the bartender(s) to make eye contact that is - suggest bringing a wrist full of rubber bands to shoot at her.... Jack's Abby Post Shift or the Lager are excellent with the burger - steak and cheese (panini or sub) - or the wings with the combo sauce that's so bad sounding it leaves you wanting more (buffalo with italian and parmesean cheese) Their take out is great - portions are so big you can split with a friend.... Food is average for the price, ambiance - nothing exciting, neighborhood pub vibe, which I usually like, if it comes with a neighborhood hospitality. But sadly nope.. if you are not a townie, you get ignored when trying to order, food comes cold ish 40 minutes late and you pretty much need to beg for attention when trying to pay, cash only, of course. And the place wasn't even busy.. if you are looking for a warm welcome and a good customer service, try Casey's in Holliston or Ko Sushi in Hopkinton. While visiting a friend's parents for the weekend, they took us to their regular Friday night spot - Cornell's. They love how close it is to their house and the great service they receive as regulars. I'm a fan of a dive bar, so I was excited to give the place a try. We initially sat outside because it was beautiful out. We order a round of drinks and then placed our food order shortly after. I found the service to be a bit slow, it felt like we wait an eternity for our food to arrive. In reality it was around 45 minutes. The place was not packed, so I'm not sure what the hold up was there. The food was good, especially for a dive bar! My friend and I split one of the specials - a garlic parm chicken panini. That was delicious! We also had some wings in a sauce recommended by our server - some kind of sweet and slightly spicy BBQ sauce. We went the boneless route (really just chicken tenders) while others at the table got bone-in buffalo wings. Now, the main event (for both good and bad reasons) was the cocktails. These were STRONG. I can appreciate a strong cocktail, especially for $8. I'd lean more on the side of something that tastes like a double when I comes to the amount of alcohol I want to consciously taste in my drinks. These felt like triples. Cost effective? Absolutely. Easy to drink? Not so much. I had three drinks, I started with the Watermelon Margarita which had muddled watermelon but it also had sour mix which I do not enjoy in a marg. Others at the table ordered the same and there was a lack of consistency in the taste between each one. Some were darker in color and tasted better. A few were not able to order another cocktail after this one... I went on to try the strawberry lemonade. That was MUCH more tolerable and so that is how I ended up having three cocktails. This resulted in my being very drunk and having a pretty nasty headache the next day. My friend was in the same boat, having had three cocktails and feeling bad in the morning. We eventually moved our party inside because we learned, after opening the lid of a trashcan near our table, that it was infested with mosquitos and we had released them. We were being eaten alive. The staff easily accommodated us inside and continued to provide great service. Overall, go in with the expectation that this is in fact a dive bar. But a dive bar with great food! Oh and STRONG drinks. read more

I'm a big fan of the Dive Bar, and I'm giving this place three stars because the people were really nice. Stopped in here on a rainy Sunday for a beer (and the bathroom). Would have had a couple of beers but the beer we had was horrid. We both ordered Bass and it tasted like the water was dirty or the pipes were rusty or something. Not wanting to waste beer, we drank 'em, but I wouldn't rush back. The place was fairly neat (in ambiance) for a dive bar. The had a covered outdoor area which would be nice on warmer days. The clientele (around 5 on a Sunday) were mostly in their early 50s and up and everyone was friendly and talkative. The did have a bar food menu that I didn't try anything from so I can't discuss in that review, but they really need to check their taps. Let me make it clear that if I based this review on the beer alone, I would have given it one star. read more

Classic dive bar where everyone knows everyone. The food is very good. Our waitress was a riot. So friendly too. Lots of outdoor dining.

This is a great classic road house. I was in the area and had not been in this place in 20 years. Newer owner since. Stopped in with my son for a sandwich. Clean place friendly staff - we had fried chicken sandwich and onion rings and we sat at the bar witch is a classic low boy set up . Great sandwiches and onion rings and a ice cold bottled beer. I visited this bar recently and I love the location. Unfortunately I really cannot recommend this place due to the subpar service and dirty facilities. The bartender, Jodi was incredibly rude (rushing my order, being aggressive and agitated, acting like she did not want to serve me) and putting her hands inside my wine glass. She then slammed my neighbor's beer on the bar and spilled it, making a really large mess. The bathroom was disgusting. I would love to give this place a shot again but after sending a message to the owners about my bad experience on facebook, I was messaged on facebook told "you are never welcome here again." Someone should tell the ownership to retrain their staff on hygiene, social media presence, and customer service. read more

Cornells is a local bar to a small town. Its not trying to be something its not. Thus being said, Its a good bar, the owner Russ is very nice and welcoming. The drinks are cheap and the popcorn is free. It has a nice small town feel. If you come from owt of town but are willing to meet new people this is the place most people here are friendly. Tonight we waited over 2 hours before we received our dinner. There was no staff, yet plenty of customers. The owner needs to hire people clearly. One woman was tending bar, doing some tables (mine), and other duties. The other woman was dedicated to waitressing. These people asked me what the problem was with a two hour wait. Seriously? If you don't know, you should not be in the restaurant business. They also only take cash, just to show how cheap they are. They won't even pay credit card fees. Instead they make money be conveniently having ATM services on-site. Again, half-ass cheap skates. Take cards, it is 2021. Although their pizza is good, even take out for that is 45 minutes minimum. They should either take their customers seriously and treat them well, or close the place. read more

Great local family bar if you are from Hopkinton or around the area you are almost guaranteed to run into someone you know. The food here is actually really great compared to most bar foods. I'd love to give this restaurant a great rating but they appear to be an embarrassment to New England's food culture. I was with one of two parties and couldn't receive service for 30 minutes. You could find livelier service in a graveyard. Half the employees were on an unscheduled break, the other half were either making wrong drinks or undercooking food. At least they had free popcorn, that you had to get yourself. Horrible place to start a restaurant seeing as how the eatery is placed in the middle of a residential area. Driving by your first assumption would be an abandoned warehouse with a "Cornell's" Sign hanging above the window. One star rating only because I respect the "balls" this owner has to create such a horrid restaurant and serve such repugnant food. I tip my hat to their popcorn machine. read more
