Honestly, I did not expect to find food like this in Springfield. I came here for work my travel job. This is my third time in Missouri. The first time I visited St. Louis, I had amazing Chinese food,but I still wasn't expecting this level here in Springfield. I've actually walked past Corner 21 multiple times and kept going to the restaurant across the street... yeah, big mistake. The food here is legit Northeastern Chinese cuisine, super authentic, not watered down, and full of flavor. Everything we ordered was spot on, and the dishes came out pretty quickly too. For context, I grew up in Asia and have lived in California for 25 years, so I'm pretty selective when it comes to Chinese food. This place easily holds up even compared to spots in LA. Service was great. Our server, Allen (天宇), was friendly, attentive, and just easy to talk to. It felt welcoming without being over the top, which I really appreciated. The space itself is clean, nicely set up, and has a comfortable vibe. And I have to say the milk tea was ridiculously good. I've been drinking boba since I was a kid, and this one really stood out. Even my coworkers (who aren't Asian) loved everything, which says a lot. Didn't expect to find something this authentic in the Midwest, but here we are. Definitely coming back. read more

This is my 3rd visit and it's by far the most authentic Chinese cuisine in 417Land. I enjoyed the spicy fish on this visit, but I really wish the fish had some actual heat to it (in the breading), and not just relying on the heat from the sliced dried chilies, which are abundant, but hard to chew. The cumin lamb is always a hit as well as the duck. I visit Springfield often and look forward to working my way through this menu. It reminds me of the Chinese food I can find along Olive Boulevard in an hour version of Chinatown in St. Louis. My family that is migrated to Springfield from St. Louis are super happy with this restaurant and apparently everyone else in Springfield is too because the place is always jampacked. Congratulations to them! They moved from their original location on Sunshine and are thriving here on Republic in the shiny new location (formerly the failed Sugarfire franchise, ironically from STL). read more

Cute spot!!! There was a little wait on a Sunday for lunch and I can see why!! So many options. I love how their menu has photos of each dish. So helpful Lolol. The food tasted amazing!!' The braised pork belly tasted EXACTLY how we make it at home. I was so surprised and delighted!!! Very authentic lol. I was so impressed with the cumin beef that was delicious. The bok choy was amazing too but expensive for bok choy lol but still amazing. The diamond shrimp is basically honey walnut shrimp without the walnuts. So that was amazing! Love the crunch of the shrimp. The sweet and sour pork was the least impressive. It felt like not enough actual meat. It was very thin. And they had gluten free options on the wall. and it all came with a gigantic bowl of rice. Enough to feed 4 people. And we had leftovers!!! Overall very authentic place. Super delicious. Stopped in for a late lunch after car shopping. I had cumin steak with (extra) cilantro and my husband had chicken with mushrooms in stone pot. Both were so good! And we had enough food for a second meal! Will definitely be back the next time we are in Springfield. read more

Yes the food was good, but they lack service. I would understand if there was a rush but it wasn't really busy. It took a while for us to get our check and our Togo boxes. The portions of the food were huge each plate is roughly around 17-20. It was nice to try but I'm not sure I'll be going back especially after I saw the back door to the kitchen open with flies everywhere. read more

The atmosphere was cafeteria like, noisy and tables were on top of each other. The service was good, however. The portions are much larger than they appear in the menu. Keep this in mind when ordering they are for sharing, or plan to take a lot of leftovers home. I got the shrimp with egg yolk and it was very grainy, would not order again. My friend got Kung Pow shrimp and said it was quite good. We also got the pork dumplings as an appetizer, which were also very delicious. The Boba teas were a little expensive for what you get. You may not recognize very much from the menu as most of the dishes were things I had never heard of. I had a trouble finding something that was not spicy. read more

Best CHINESE in SGF. If you want legitimate Chinese food (not just American Chinese) this is your place! The food is delicious and the flavors are amazing. Walked in and it is well handed chaos as we got an immediate table. Had green beans which were excellent. Everyone ordered something different and everyone had a smile on their face. Ordered half duck which a huge presentation. Share with others next time as we had tons of to go which server put all togo's together for us. WE WILL BE BACK! read more

My personal opinion about our experience.... Worst dining experience EVER all the way around. Poor service, couldn't get anyone's attention to take our orders, bowls of rice were cold and came out wayyy before anyone's food.... We were in a party of 8 and our food trickled out one by one and was terrible! Took forever and by the time the last person was served the first people were finished eating and ready to leave. She barely got to eat anything. They refused to comp her meal!! Then they have the gall to charge a 2% transaction fee for using a card AND pre-apply a gratuity charge because of the group size!!! Probably the only way they can get a tip!!! Never returning to this over-priced and highly over-rated place! read more
