I regret not reading the Yelp reviews first, but I was in a hurry and was craving some Sushi and this was the closest place. Where to begin my complaint? I suppose it is for the sushi rice itself... it was dry, hard terrible! I resorted to nuking it a few seconds in the microwave in a desperate attempt to soften it up, after tasting it. Keep in mind this Sushi order was just freshly prepared for me. The presentation itself was very nice , but on closer inspection there wasn't much fish and what was there tasted and smelled old. I had ordered 4 different rolls with a variety of fish, but the dry hardened pebbles of rice ruined any true enjoyment of any of them. The wasabi I asked for was a tiny micro dot of a portion and bland, the ginger was adequate and the pre packaged soy sauce was ok. The exterior of the Restaurant looks old and run down, but the insides looked nice and clean. Lastly the egg drop soup I ordered was extremely watery and unrecognizable and without much flavor at all. After eating about half I poured the rest down the drain. Maybe their other food is good, but with such an abundance of excellent or at least halfway decent Sushi and Asian cuisine restaurants in Springfield I doubt I'll ever be back. read more

You expect something glorious and receive something that vaguely resembles your expectations but doesn't really serve any purpose to you. Sushi lovers please avoid. Great take out dinner from here! Sushi rolls are large and nicely packaged and the crab rangoon filling is very creamy and tasteful! Dip the rangoon in some sweet and sour sauce and you're golden - so good! I give 4 stars only because my order wasn't ready when I arrived and was asked to wait outside in the 90° heat while I waited for my order. Ate here a few weeks ago. The two stars are for the cleanliness of the restaurant and the service, which was excellent. I ordered two sushi rolls that were expensive. The sushi fish was cut so thin, you could see through it. The teriyaki beef was cubed and very tough. Their "teriyaki " was a brown watery, tasteless gravy. Young Asian girl that was rolling sushi orders wouldn't stop touching her face and hair (that was hanging down over her face) with her gloved fingers. She also was wiping her counter with gloves on and then taking sushi rice with the same gloved hands from sushi rice container. I told her that she was supposed to change gloves and she just looked at me. There were alot of orders being called in for sushi that night. Everyone who ordered sushi also consumed this girl's sweat and oil from her skin because it was all over her gloves. Another female employee went to the restroom with her gloves on and CAME BACK OUT with her gloves still on! I couldn't believe my eyes. Beware on a previous visit, we had ordered "tuna nigiri" when in fact the "tuna" was really artificially dyed escolar (aka the diarrhea fish) and when lifted off the rice it left the dyed pink coating on the rice. This happens alot with inferior sushi places. It is customer trickery. If the tuna looks unusually pink or red, it is definitely NOT real tuna! It is dyed crappy cheap fish. Real tuna does not leave a pink hue on rice if you lift it up. read more

Fortune cookie says "Never again shall you make this mistake". Why the extreme displeasure, you ask? Where does one even begin. Sure, ordering through Yelp for delivery was simple enough. Even receive a prompt phone call to find one of the menu items we ordered (beef with black pepper sauce) is no longer a menu option, at which point we requested it be removed from our order instead of replaced with something else. Confirmation came that the order would be 10 minutes, so we eagerly waited. ...And waited... An hour and a half after the order was placed, we call to confirm our order hasn't been lost or forgotten. As it was now 11:05pm, and Teriyaki House closes at 11:30, we were nervous of a no-show. Nope, they apparently had a massive rush after our order, but were assured the driver had left 15 minutes ago with our delivery. Skeptical but starving, the wait continued. Finally, at 11:35pm, over 2 hours after ordering, our long awaited meal had come. Or at least the milk tea had, at which point the delivery guy had to be reminded about the 2 entrees and soup we had also ordered. Fortunately the rest of our order was in the delivery guy's car. Unfortunately, it had been there (or maybe just forgotten about in the restaurant's kitchen) for a very long time. Milk tea was warmer than room temperature and extremely watery, presumably from any ice that had been inside being completely melted upon arrival. Eggdrop soup wasn't even room temperature and lacked any flavor. Can't remember what my partner had to eat, but it was barely warm at all and not mind blowing or the best size for the price. Upon opening my chicken curry bowl I found a cold rice with minimal actual curry sauce, literally 3 tiny flat pieces of chicken, all bell peppers and a couple onions to fill the rest of the space. Oh, and someone else's hair. Two hours. Two hours of waiting for food I couldn't eat. The straw (or hair, I should say) that broke the camel's back? We were still charged for the dish that is no longer a menu item. Save your money, time, and hygiene for somewhere else. read more

OK, if you look at my other reviews, you know I try to be open minded. This was just not good. This restaurant was on the list of places that delivered to my hotel. Well, not actually. The app told me I was out of range and when I called they said I could get the delivery for $4. Since I had already looked at the menu, I decided to go ahead and order. It is chicken that is fried way too hard and brown chicken gravy. How could I, in the name of all that is right, think that a Chinese place would serve me chicken and gravy. And not good gravy, either. They also sent rice when I asked for Lo Mein. I called and they said they would send lo Mein. OK chicken and gravy - strike one. The dinner came with a special of a California roll and soup. Who can mess up a California roll? Now I know. The crab stick was ground into a pulp providing a mushy mouth feel. - Strike two. Miso soup? Well, it was. But that's it. An hour later the Lo Mein shows up. They cooked an entire new portion of the chicken and gravy and made sure to bring extra gravy this time. Ewh. OK, guys last chance. Lo Mein - ugh - strike three. Overcooked and no seasoning. The whole meal is in the trash bags in the room. read more

The food is really good. The crab Rangoons are absolutely my favorite ever. They are long instead of folded so there's more cream cheese and less crunchy, which is perfect. The service is amazing. The lady at the counter was really nice and even talked about the bobas that she liked and recommended and it was just a great experience. The ambience is laid back and chill. These guys have the best general tso's on lo mein in town. It is phenomenal. Their sushi is good and reasonably priced. The royal tea boba can be hit or miss depending on who makes it...but we have enjoyed it most of the time. The egg drop soup is quite different than any other I've ever had anywhere. I never leave reviews but felt like I needed to so I could prevent another person from ordering sushi. I got the spicy kani roll and the spicy salmon roll. The kani was super dry and tasted extremely fishy, the salmon was filled with small pieces that had skin still on them, and the rice was dry and tasted old. I found myself trying to choke down a few pieces so I could eat at least a bit, but couldn't. I had to drown it with soy sauce and spicy mayo to make it even relatively decent. The miso soup was also extremely bland and disappointing. For $17 I got an inedible meal and immeasurable disappointment. read more

Although the sushi at Teriyaki House is suspect at best (I have occasionally been served some that was room temperature and questionably fresh), the cooked entrees are both delicious and inexpensive. I recently ordered delivery using Yelp's Eat24 service, and it arrived at exactly the time I requested, piping hot and just as fresh as if I were eating it at the restaurant. That level of convenient service can be tough to come by in Springfield, and in the end, it's enough to lift what might otherwise be a three star review to four star status. To be clear, the sushi here did not make me sick, but I would still be hesitant about ordering anything raw from this establishment due to my previous experience. This is a hard review to write. My family and I have enjoyed this restaurant for awhile, but when they discontinued the tofu menu items we stopped coming as often. Their boba is wonderful though and that is what we still stop in for most often. The folks working there are wonderful and we enjoy hanging out at the window seats while we wait for our drinks. However, I do dream many dreams wishing they would bring back more tofu options! read more

Honestly, I haven't had to write a bad review before, but I truly felt like this place needed something to be said about them. From the moment my wife and I walked in, we weren't even properly greeted, the women at the front just told us to grab a menu and sit down if we were dining in, so we did. About 10 mins went by and no one had even come to take our order. My wife had to get up to find someone to take our order...Shortly after that, a man rushed over apologizing and took our order. I ordered an egg drop soup, chicken teriyaki bowl, royal milk tea boba, and my wife ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl with a mango boba drink. The food came about 25 mins later and honestly it wasn't even worth the wait. The drinks we had tasted extremely low quality and more so watery as if it had been sitting out in ice for so long. The egg drop soup was plain as hell. The chicken teriyaki wasn't THAT bad in all honestly, but the rice and veggies it came with were a bit hard rather than soft and weren't properly cooked. The overall cleanliness of the restaurant was not the greatest either and when we were served our food, the waiter stuck his finger in the bowl which was completely unsanitary. I'm not the type of person to just walk our after noticing how crappy a place is because I try to not judge a book by its cover, but this place was just overall a horrible experience. Voted best bubble tea by two bubble tea enthusiasts. We loved to come here to eat on a date night. The two of us would get one of their specials and eat for just $35! We'd get two bubble teas, two sushi rolls, and share a rice/noodle bowl with orange chicken, and soup. This was the place I got my sister to try sushi for the first time, and bubble tea. Great place for lunch carry out. The food tastes fresh and is not overly sauced. I enjoy being able to order directly from Yelp. The decor is fresh and clean. The sushi bar - while small is efficient and serves tasty sushi rolls. The lunch specials can be had with brown rice! And their tofu with garlic sauce and veggies is my favorite. read more
