We arrived just after breakfast was over and almost left except the food smelled really good, the cashier was really pleasant and the cozy atmosphere was inviting. When I was indecisive on the kind of soup to get, Melissa was kind enough to let me try them to help me decide. Seeing nothing on the lunch menu for my son, she was awesome enough to go back to kitcheb and request a side of pancakes; it was her suggestion too! Carrie is a wonderful person. She was extent patient with me and my family. Helped us order almost the entire menu. Her recommendation were very much enjoyed. Banana Foster pancakes were delicious! Soup, sandwiches, and salads oh my. Located conveniently off of Sunland Park Dr near Target, Spec's, Barnes and Nobles, Party City and much more. During the winter I crave soup and this place hits the spot. I can have soup and sandwich other can have whatever. Feels like you are eating fresh and healthy. Indoor and outdoor seating available. You enter a nice deli style restaurant where you order at the counter and receive a number. it is clean, except for the drink area which is to be expected since lots of people tend to spill and leave mess while getting their beverage. Here is the major draw back. Service. While I didn't really mind cause I like to be left alone I expect some service other than here is your food. The concept of few servers that offer and self service is fine if everything was available. I have in the past gone and there has been no silverware available and it was not brought with my meal. Also, when I needed a To Go box I had to track down someone. Who just happened to the manager. I expressed my concern over the service issue and she assured me she would talk to her staff. Uh ok sure. I was not in the mood to really care that day. Bottom line: You want deli style food that you can order, sit and eat and leave with little to no hassle or interaction with those outside of yourself and your party, this is what you are looking for. We've been to the Corner Bakery Cafe a number of times for carryout. The service is average at best. We've had some slow times, but not enough to get you overly upset. The wife bought sandwiches for lunch and salads for dinner that day. She had the Uptown Turkey Harvest sandwich and I had the Tuna Salad. Both had very good avocado and crisp bacon on them. We split the salads, the Spinach Sweet and the Chopped Salad. They were both excellent. The spinach had orange, grapes, cranberries, strawberries, and crumbled blue cheese along with a unique raisin pecan crisp product. The strawberry dressing was exceptional, the chopped salad dressing above average. We only give CBC 3 stars due to average carryout service at best and mainly due to a very, very stale piece of chocolate bundt cake. Being from the restaurant business, there is no reason such a stale piece of food should ever be served. The condition of the cake sold casts doubt on the freshness of any other bakery product. We'll come back for the sandwiches and salads, just never again any desserts or bakery items. read more

The atmosphere is really nice, and the person in charge at that location, Laura, has an excellent customer service. She always is on top of things and tries to fix any problem customers might have with a smile. Very clean place with a good selection of food you can't really find anywhere else. If you aren't sure on what soup you'd like to order they're always more than happy to let you sample it. The tea here is amazing. The only thing I hate about this place is they don't let you sit down before ordering. I sat sown while my gf was ordering food and one of the employees came up to me asking me to get up until she placed our order. The breakfast is so good. It's hard to find decent bacon at any restaurant in Bama, but the bacon here is just like home cooked bacon. The pancakes are great!!!!! Came here today because I was craving something panera bread like. It was my first time ever going to a corner bakery and I didn't know what to expect. Ordering was easy, chose the half chicken Caesar salad and loaded potato soup option for lunch. Food came out really quick and it was a good amount of food. The only thing that deterred me was that they checked on us maybe once to see how we were doing (& I was there for maybe 3 hours catching up with a friend) other than that food is reasonably priced, and good. read more

Today was my first time going for breakfast/brunch. We arrived at 11:15 as a party of two and there were no seats available inside (50 degrees outside). We were lucky enough to find a seat as someone left, by this was after making looking for a few minutes. The breakfast was good but the sandwich was just thrown together. With every bite it fell apart. It probably would've been better to eat it deconstructed. The pineapple and apple was so sour from the lemon juice used to prevent browning. The grapes and melon were able to maintain their flavors. The coffee is pretty good. They have four varieties to choose from. I've never been disappointed for lunch or dinner and have never had a problem finding seating inside either. The staff is very friendly though, even during very busy business hours. So if you read this review, I'm ultimately saying that I would probably not return for breakfast unless I plan on taking it to go. However, I will return for their lunch/dinner because it's delicious, quick and much better than fast food. So, I will give it four stars because ultimately I'll be back and I'll enjoy it. read more

I received an email this morning from Corner Bakery for a Fourth of July special. The special was 50% off your order online or in cafe for today only. I read over the email to be sure there were no restrictions. My husband and I decided to go to Corner Bakery for breakfast. After ordering and giving the associate our discount code the manager came over to tell us that the email was sent out by the corporate office this morning by mistake. This store is a franchise and not part of the corporate office so they do not honor these emails sent out "by mistake" from the corporate office. He was really sorry for the mistake. He didn't offer to honor the discount for the email we received or to make the error "right". It certainly wasn't our error. But, he didn't do anything to make us, the customer, feel okay about this. We have been loyal customers of this restaurant since they opened. But, now I don't feel so loyal anymore. It certainly isn't the money that has caused me to feel this way. It wasn't very much money. It is how the manager handled the situation. It WAS about the money to him. read more

Nothing that follows here should be considered a negative reflection of the food and service we received at this Corner Bakery. I am probably going to show my age with some of my comments and reader's my kid's age wont get it. I am just not very trendy. I like some things in life to remain unchanged. I absolutely hate do it yourself restaurants, sadly this trend of ordering at the counter and it will be delivered to your table seems to be the business model of this generation. To me it turns an enjoyable dining experience into a hybrid fast food joint. For the record, I much prefer waiter table service and I know its a cost saver to the business but that's their problem. Now that's off my chest. My experience here was excellent. The complete staff was friendly and helpful. There isn't an extensive menu. As you would expect it is largely baked goods and sandwiches but they do have pancakes and a couple of egg plates. Everything we had was delicious. My All American scramble had nicely fluffy eggs and came with bacon. I liked the option of fresh fruit in lieu of potatoes. My wife had a hard time finding the bacon on her panini--maybe a couple tid bits, but without a magnifying glass it was impossible to tell. We shared a blueberry muffin, and I have to say I have never had a better one. It was truly the best muffin have ever put in my mouth. Back to my earlier rant, I despise having to get my own drinks and table settings, and this goes double for refills. I also didn't care for the cold difficult to spread butter.I don't really believe my griping will change their corporate business model but maybe they will have servers available for mobility challenged guests. All that said, we were very pleased with our first Corner Bakery visit and we will indeed return. You can call ahead for take out. -----Update July 13, 2017---- Almost exactly like my last visit and review with a couple of bullet points. First, they have a lot of nerve describing the Anaheim Panini as containing bacon. Like my last review, my wife still can't find any, so she keeps swiping a piece off my plate. I rather like my bacon so I would appreciate it if the kitchen would provide her own. Second bullet point, the oatmeal was lumpy. Finally there must have been a blueberry somewhere in my blueberry muffin but I'm damned if I could find one. Accompanied by my Mother who has been yearning to visit the Corner Bakery, we found ourselves starving, walking through the door. We were met by a girl handing out menus and a line that moved quickly. Everything looked wonderful and fresh on the counters and showcases. The prices didnt though. This place is a cross idea between Panera Bread and Starbucks in terms of the look, the service and all around atmosphere. My Mom ordered soup and sandwich, I ordered a rueben, we both had small drinks-the total was around $25.00--are you kidding me? This is El Paso, not NYC. I expect that from more of a metropolitian area, as NYC, but one gets paid more money in NYC too.. OK, so...back to the food: My sandwich was made very thin. No it wasnt a panini, but it was built like one, not at all like a Rueben should be. Sandwich fail number 1. My Mother's soup was ok, her half of a sandwich was hard and she had to take it apart in order to eat it. But she, as I, was roaring hungry and continued to rip it apart, in total getting only 4 bites. Im disappointed to say the least. read more

Which may impact your ability to have a professional conversation on the phone since it can get a little loud. They have tables, booths and some lounging areas. I frequent CB when traveling Here is a recommendation for this location. When the customer is perceived as an inconvenience, please lock your doors 30 minutes prior to closing. This way you can shutdown your equipment and have it cleaned by your posted closing time. Okay WHAT HAPPENED!! I stopped in after work yesterday to get their awesome BLT and i got the great bacon-and lots of it i might add, and the tomatoes were fresh and juicy but the bread??? Met some friends here for lunch. There was some weirdness about my friend's ticket; she was charged for something that she didn't order. I got a panini combo and asked for them to leave something off the sandwich. After everything was settled with the overcharge we went and sat down. Then the food deliverer/server brought out my friend's food, including the thing she didn't order. The girl just said to keep the extra thing since they were just going to toss it out anyway. Yay free salad. Then my food came out and it had everything on it, so I took it back to have the mayo removed. When I got it back they had just taken off the top of the sandwich and put a new piece of bread on it. AND taken my tomato, which sucked. One friend's muffin was stale. They also didn't give out napkins with the meal; we had to go up to the counter and ask for some. Really? The salad was pretty good, and the sandwich would have been. The black currant tea is UH-MAZEBALLS. My lemon bar was great too. The service was kind of lackadaisical but they were nice. I'll probably go back if I'm over that way, but it's no destination restaurant. I'll mostly be going for the tea and a lemon bar. read more

Starting with the bad: The service is pretty sucky. The waitresses are nice, but are never really around when needed, and the people at the counter always get stuff wrong. The prices are on the edge of high end of acceptable, (though my broke ass says it's too expensive). I don't know how much you'd pay for average baked goods or an average lunch, (I've learned to just stick with the a small coffee, free water and wait until I get home to make myself a sandwich, maybe even crack out some easy mac if I'm feeling fancy). It's a sucky place and I don't recommend it to families or anyone who wants a meal. (Stop dragging your brats in here, or at least make them shut up) Closing with the good: It's a comfortable place with good seating arrangements. I like going there to read, use up their free wi-fi, and get away from my family. If I get some coffee, they can't kick me out. I recommend it to people who just want to chill (though the occasional wail from a bored toddler is expected), or work on group projects and such. I wish this place was around when I was in high school just for this very reason. read more

I usually always get breakfast food here, sometimes I get a panini or a sandwich. I like the food. It is usually crowded here and it can get noisy. We like to go here for brunch on the weekends though so a crowd is to be expected. For a family the prices are kind of high, like $8 for a kid's pb&j plate. read more

I think Corner Bakery is a great spot when you don't want a big production but you would like a meal that rises above fast food. The ingredients here are usually nice and fresh, the coffee and tea is great, and the baked good are much better than Starbucks. Sometimes the recipes try to be a little too fancy, but otherwise, the choices are pretty good for lunch and dinner. Haven't tried breakfast here yet, but the menu looks promising. read more
