Well this place is a nice find in downtown Nashville. We came here because our hotel free breakfast was terrible. We walked a block or two and walked right on in. Beware that it could get rather busy at peak hours. The place is counter ordering so you order what you like and it is brought out to you. I went with the egg bowl and was not disappointed. I loved the variety within the egg bowl. It was very filling and some great healthy options. I resisted the temptation of the baked goods, but I did ponder over them for some time. My only disappointment was the coffee. It was too strong for me; however, understand that I am a coffee wimp. They did have a flavored coffee that day and I also tried that. It was good, but a bit too sweet for my liking. So I paid for coffee that I did not finish drinking or enjoy. If you are in the area and looking for a nice, quick breakfast, I suggest stopping by. I stopped in and ordered a toasted bagel with butter and cream cheese. I was charged $2.49 for the bagel, $1.00 for the cream cheese, and $0.50 for the butter. When the bagel was delivered to the table it did not have butter on it. When I went to the counter to ask for the butter, they told me it was sitting out by the napkins and other condiments. So I was charged $0.50 for something that was sitting there free for anyone who wanted it. By now, my bagel was cold and the butter was so hard I couldn't spread it. I won't be back. read more

Corner Cafe Nashville This is a very small location. They have a order ahead. I was eating there so I ordered an D.C. chicken salad sandwich with chips. I also ordered a handheld lemon pie. When the buzzer went off to alert that the order was ready it was not for our order. Our order took a few more minutes. My sandwich was kind of bland and really didn't have a lot of chicken in it. There was lots of tomato, lettuce, onion, almonds, apples and craisins. There was just too much going on with this sandwich. The handheld lemon pie had powered sugar on it, which makes actually holding it a messy choice. I chose to put it on my plate and use my fork and knife. We ordered and after closing out were told they were out of ingredients of one of the items we ordered. We selected another option, that was less in cost, and weren't offered a refund. I visited The Corner Bakery Cafe for the first time today. It's a new cafe in Nashville that specializes in "pastries, breads, breakfast dishes, gourmet sandwiches, homemade soups, salads, and pasta." I had the Choose any Two special (numerous items to chose from) and I selected two different salads for my meal (it also comes with a side item): 1. The Berry Pecan Salad with chicken, strawberries, blueberries, bleu cheese and candied pecans on greens with strawberry vinaigrette dressing (only 270 calories). And 2. The Spinach Sweet Crisp Salad with baby spinach, freshly sliced strawberries, oranges, grapes, cranberries, green onions and creamy goat cheese with raisin pecan sweet crisps and strawberry vinaigrette (only 260 calories). Honestly, they were two of the freshest and tastiest salads that I have had from a restaurant. Both came in at under 300 calories each and one salad alone could have made for a satisfying lunch but they were so good that I finished both salads off during my lunch break. The strawberry vinaigrette was a flavorful compliment to each salad. All the staff that I spoke with were friendly and I noticed one gentleman who was constantly checking with various patrons to make sure everything was to their satisfaction and engaging in friendly conversation. The clerk who took my order was also helpful and it made for a pleasant visit during my break. The cafe itself was very clean with a modern, crisp look and feel to it and the dining area was well lit. I had a coupon for my meal but the normal price of $8.99 is well worth what I had and is less expensive than most restaurants I have been to, especially in downtown Nashville. The Corner Bakery Cafe is one of those places that I already know I will be making frequent visits to. For a new restaurant that just recently opened I did not notice any areas that needed improvement and I'm looking forward to trying many of the other items on their menu. read more

Fantastic small coffee for a snack, lunch, or coffee. This is my second stop by when visiting Nashville and both visits have been excellent. My first visit was just me and my wife for a quick coffee which was excellent. We have kids with us this time and the staff was extremely accommodating including the availability of a kids menu. Came in for a quick coffee and something light to eat. Ordered an avocado wrap and a latte. Took a bite of the wrap and it didn't taste quite right. Upon inspection, the avocado used was very brown and obviously bad. I don't understand how so many restaurants think its ok to serve bad avocado. I know they are expensive but come on. Its a couple slices of avocado. I'm not one to complain to the staff, so I scraped it out and continued to eat despite my better intuition. Ordered lunch for my office as a treat. One of our staff members prefers vegetarian. Most of the sandwiches were ok but beware the mozzarella tomato sandwich. The picture in the menu has full slices of mozzarella with artfully applied balsamic dressing. The sandwich we received had a single slice of mozzarella cut into three small pieces which were lost in the arugula and a watery balsamic (?) drizzle that provided no taste at all. Well they had us waiting about an hr because they have us the wrong number for our buzzer, but the food was still good and they offered extra things to compensate the mistake. It was very good, but disappointed that it did not have the large array of bakery goods or sandwich selection that the Dallas stores have.
