Normally love this place, but the past few times I have been in I have been disappointed. Today I got a salad to go and it was not very appetizing. It was a dinner portion and it filled up maybe half of the container. It had very little lettuce, cold bacon with grease on it and I asked for no cheese and it looked like they put it on there and then picked it off the best they could. The girl that checked me out was not the friendliest. Also the place had one customer in there eating and I counted 7 dirty tables on one side of the restaurant. We also went in for breakfast a few weeks ago and they never got our order correct. We finally just ate what we got and left. This is very disappointing. We had BLT and Chicken Salad. Take Out. The Chicken Salad-I couldn't eat. The bread on the BLT was so chewy and tough, it wasn't worth eating. Now I remember why we only went there once before a few years ago...We won't be back. Plus it was $20!! read more

Paninis, soups, and salads were all uniformly good to good+. Sour-dough bread was a standout. Prices are slightly higher than they should be. Lunch combos for a family of three totaled $25 with no drinks (water). Happy to have this spot in Tyler- McAlister's etc. need the competition as they have fallen off somewhat lately IMHO. read more

I had lunch there today. I have been over the years probably several times for lunch. However today I ordered the reuben sandwich. Talk about a rip off!!! One or maybe two thin sliced of pastrami a smidgen of sauerkraut and that was it. I know it's a panini, but come on! $$7.99 for this? Overpriced rip off place. read more

Went with a group of coworkers around noon on Friday; the parking lot was absolutely packed, but we had no trouble finding a table. The service was a little odd (the manager talked to each person in line, and it was kind of off-utting). They are very attentive and friendly, however. The line was very long, but moved quickly. It's really nice to see a restaurant use ALL of its registers. The food came pretty quickly, but staggered (I got mine a good 5 minutes before anybody else, and one lady's food got "lost" entirely. They replaced it very speedily). All the food was very yummy and satisfying; the restaurant was clean. We each tried a different soup. All of them were incredible; I got the roasted poblano corn chowder in a bread bowl. Seriously, seriously amazing. I also tried one of the desserts, some kind of apricot pastry. It was very good. The portions are a great value for the price (read: pretty huge!) My only complaint is the noise level; like so many new restaurants in town, they went for high-open ceilings which greatly amplify the ambient noise and conversations around you. All in all, I was very pleased. I will definitely make this a regular destination for dining out. I am eager to try out the extensive breakfast menu, the baked goods, and more of the soups. read more

Not a very pleasant experience today and we haven't had one for a long time. The past three times we have gone either our order was wrong or they forgot an item in our to-go bag. The food was put together sloppily and the workers weren't in very good spirits either. Corner Bakery used to be one of our favorite places to eat but no more. read more

OK for a quick breakfast. Clean restaurant. Although we had courteous service and an overall decent meal experience, both our eggs and gravy were almost cool (definitely not what you want with scrambled eggs) leaving us to wonder if they had been precooked or had been sitting in the plate waiting to be delivered to our table for too long a period of time. read more

This lovely bakery is around the corner from the school so if I want to get away from the university for a bit between classes I can crash here for a little while! The Asian salad hits the spot for the healthier side of me, but for my unhealthy side the balsamic BLT speaks to me. And if I want to take the bakery home for breakfast, grabbing a to go muffin will do the trick. read more

For being a place that's supposed to sell breakfast food, they're supposedly perpetually out of all oatmeal products, particularly the Swiss oats. Even more off-putting, both times I was told this, I watched them serve oatmeal products to another patron. This wouldn't be as big a deal if all of their other breakfast food didn't taste awful and have no flavor. Their lunch food is equally bad and is inferior to chains like Panera. This is the only Corner Bakery where I've had this problem. I'll try the new French cafe in South Tyler next time. read more

to my understanding, hand pies are supposed to be semilunar. I purchased a blueberry hand pie from corner bakery today and it was rectangular. were they trying to poison me? I was appalled. I can't believe anyone would try to pass that as a so called, "hand pie." but other than that, it was great. the bathroom smelled great also. so yeah, 10/10. read more
