I love this place! It is honestly my second home they treat me so great! I love to get my nails done here! Also love it because it's so close to home! The vibe is relaxing and the customer service is amazing!

I went to this nail salon for a while and may be back if I don't have my daughter with me. They generally do a nice job on their gel pedicures. They have a nice menu of variations of offerings for the treatment/experience ranging from bare bones to the deluxe menu. I don't have a set nail tech and they all do a nice job. The reason for 1 less star is that they literally roast you for picking colors they don't personally like and try to convince you not to get them LOL On a more serious note, and the reason I decided to take a break from coming here is that they pushed and pushed and pushed to do gel on my 8 year old's nails. I said several times that she's too young and I don't want her to have it. After so much pushback, they ended up doing it anyway on two fingers of each hand where she had designs done, and told me after they did it that it was easier to do the designs that way. I made it more than clear that I did not want this for the safety of my child's nails. I felt that was pretty disrespectful.

I go here regularly, and I love the little family vibe of this place. The staff is nice and they always do a great job.

I made an appointment at this place because my regular place wasn't available. My appointment was set for 5 PM. They sat me down in a pedicure chair for 45 minutes before they started any service on me. The pedicure was great. The manicure was not great. The technician cut 2 of my cuticles and laughed about it. My thumb nail is filed crooked. The tech doing my hands was unsteady. I would have much rather been moved to one of the tables for the manicure. Don't think I'll be back to this place.

I just left Corner Joy. First impressions? Very clean, peaceful, and friendly environment. Lihn did my pedicure. I've never had someone more thorough do my nails. She carefully cut the cuticle at every step, went above and beyond, and was so friendly. Everyone there was nice! The owner really takes his time to get to know everyone. The nice lady sitting next to me had very specific requests and she herself said she "was a pain", but they handled her with care and respect and she felt heard. I know that this is how every establishment should handle business, but unfortunately, we don't get that treatment so often. I'm going to return and request Lihn, but I saw that the other ladies were also doing a great job!

Just had the most relaxing time at Corner Joy. Had Helen on my mani and Linda (could be wrong about her name) on my pedi. Both ladies were such a joy (no pun intended). We just chatted it up the whole time! Helen has impressively good English, and Linda was just super nice the whole time. Happy with the 5 minute massage at the end, and happy with the way my nails came out :)

Very happy to have found this salon. They're very sweet, the chairs and bowls are nice and clean, and they have an amazing array of colors. I've been 5 times and have had different techs and each one has been a great experience.

I do not like to leave negative reviews. I really want to be able to say I had a good experience. The two staff who did my hands and feet were nice enough. They didn't try to upsell me - which is a big pet peeve for me. I can't, however, recommend using them. While my pedicure turned out fine, the manicure is terrible. I asked for a pink and white gel manicure. I blame myself for not scrutinizing my nails more closely while I was in the salon. Everything looked fine when I left. Later, I happened to look down at my hand and could see that the sides were a mess. Almost every nail is not properly finished. You can see from the pictures how poorly they were done. I only added a couple of pictures and each is a different finger, but they are all the same. I find it hard to believe that a professional would be proud of this work and allow their client to leave the salon like this. It's too bad because I would likely have returned otherwise.

I really wanted to like this place and for the most part, I did. I had Helen and she was so friendly! She painted a little too far down from the cuticle for my liking and I definitely waited too long to tell her, but instead of just painting a little more to the cuticle and leaving some space, she painted all the way to the skin. Maybe I miscommunicated, but now my 34 dollar manicure looks pretty awful. I might give this place another try because they were all so friendly and welcoming.

I'm a LBSU student and initially tried this place because it was a short walk from campus and I needed to get my nails done in between classes. I'm really glad I did! The ladies that work there are super sweet, and the service is exceptional. The place is really clean and the pedicure chairs are some of the most comfortable. Their prices are reasonable, and they're also having a 20% discount happening right now. read more

I've been coming here for a couple years for pedi's , mani's and full sets and they never disappoint! The whole team is extremely friendly and always offer you water or snacks. They do an amazing job with your nails or toes. I've done plenty of walk ins but recently I've been calling in to make appointments however they try to get you in as quick as possible when they are busy or even when it's slow. My favorite nail spot in the Long Beach area. read more

I happened upon this nail place on yelp. I've been looking for a new salon for a while now. Christine? I believe was her name, was my nail technician. She is wonderful!!! I walked in tonight (Sunday) at 4:30 not even realizing they closed at 5. I was helped immediately. She took her time, even correcting a mistake with the nail placement, and she was very gentle. I was so surprised how much she took her time considering I showed up 30 minutes before closing considering I've been rushed at salons that were not busy and not closing. I highly recommend them. I'm so happy I found my new nail place and will becoming back for sure. Their pricing is also great especially in an area where prices are generally higher just because of location. I really can't say enough great things about this place and can't wait to make an appointment for my fill and pedi. read more

This place is AMAZING! My mom owns a nail salon so I have extremely high standards and this place gets a 5/5 from me all the way! The workers are so nice and paid attention to detail and their work was nothing short of perfection. They cleaned up my nails so well! Also, I've been having such a difficult time finding a salon with OPI polish and this place has a ton of them! They also have regular polishes that match each gel polish so you can match your fingers and toes. Free refreshments and snacks as well... I've definitely found my go to spot in the Long Beach area. I also have to add that the shop is so aesthetically pleasing and nicely designed/decorated. Everything is super clean and bright. read more

This nail salon is definitely my favorite. I've been coming here since the grand opening. I stopped coming for a while but they never fail to impress me. After being gone for about 9 months she remembered my name and little fun facts about me. I'm so sad I stopped coming but I'm so glad they welcomed me back with open arms! Please come to this nail salon! Best Nail salon! They know what they are doing and are good with replicating pictures. You can even ask for pictures of their work to get ideas! Tucked away this nail salon is a little hidden gem! The prices are reasonable and they offer a 10% off discount for customers, I think first time only. I'm so glad I found this place on Yelp! I decided to walk in to get a spa pedicure and manicure. The price was reasonable and the women that worked on me were fantastic! They took their time and they never made me have any kind of pain (yes, I've had some unfortunate incidences before). I liked how they kept asking what I wanted instead of just doing whatever they felt like (yup, I've had that happen too!). It was nice seeing that so many people came in and all of the workers greeted them by name. I can see it being a place I come to often. If you're in the area, it's worth trying out. read more

I was always hesitant to try a new nail place because of all the bad experiences I've had, but Corner Joy Nails & Spa is just AMAZING! I came here for the first time a few months back and Christine made it such an amazing experience. She takes her time and does a wonderful job and everyone there is so sweet! I always feel very taken care of and their input on what would make your nails look great never fails! I'll never go anywhere else! This is the only location that has ever made me feel more happy each time I walk out with a new set of nails (: 10/10 would recommend and I suggest appointments because so many people love this place too! read more

I'm so glad I found this place! They have the BEST prices and everyone that has ever touched my nails has been great and they are all so nice! I have been going to Corner Joy for just pedicures for about two years but have recently started getting my nails done again too and love their acrylic work. I've broken a couple nails (because they're so long haha) and they have fixed them promptly every time. Make sure to tip them well! They are all great! read more

I checked out this new salon today. Everything is clean and new. The workers are very nice and take their time to do a good job. I got a multicolored chrome fairy dust look and she didn't sigh or complain doing layer after layer, coat after coat to get it right. She even put a free layer of glow-in-the-dark this time just for fun. They also are giving 25% off for all of October so get in there soon! I will be going back. read more

These guys are really nice. They recommended a Polish I would have never thought of myself and I love it! After leaving in a rush the other day I had to come back to have the gel put on. That of course was my fault but when I came back the owner of the salon did my nails and he was not nice at all. Not only was he trying to charge me extra but he did an extremely sloppy job on the nails. The pink had dots of black on two nails and he wouldn't fix it even after I told him. The thumb was completely streaky and some sides of my nails were not covered with polish. I get that he wanted more money but being rude and doing a bad job made him lose a customer. read more

I love coming to this place, it's cute nail salon tucked in the corner, super clean and sanitary. They have so many nails colors to chose from, gel and regular. I get acrylics with gel, a full set is $35 with a tapered square shape and a fill is $25. The acrylic they use is high quality and doesn't break easily, I've had problems at other places where my nails break or come off in 1-2 week but here I can wait 3-4 before I have to get another fill. Would definitely recommend giving this place a shot! read more

I have been coming here the past two years and LOVED the service and the look of my nails when they are finished. I am rating one star because of how disappointed and dissatisfied with the service I received today. I walked in at 3:30 with no appointment and asked if they had enough time for a pedicure and a dip powder manicure. She said yes as long as I get my toes done first. Of course, I understand it is Covid so they are short staffed and that I am a walk in and not an appointment. I waited two hours and watched them move on to other people until I did not have the time to wait any longer. ( dip powder manicure takes around an hour to do, so if they had gotten to me that second I would have spent 3 hours there which is just too long) as I am getting up to tell them they proceeded to ignore me until I had to wave one of them down and alert them of the time. She then proceeded to tell me it was my fault for not having an appointment and my response was I understand, but she should have told me in the beginning when I asked. Then had the nerve to tell me it was my fault for wanting dip powder manicure, if I had gotten gel it wouldn't have taken as long. As stated before, she knew I wanted dip from the beginning and still told me they were available to fit me in. At this point I was really just wanting an apology for what felt like a waste of my time. Then! She proceeded to charge me for my manicure because one of the girls wrapped my nails in tin foil. I was walking out with my nails still wrapped in tin foil and not a single thing done to them! She informed me that they do not get paid hourly/ instead they make their money from the price of a pedicure or manicure. Reluctantly but understandably I paid for the manicure that didn't really happen along with my pedicure. For the woman who tried to help as much as she could, I appreciate everything. To the one that belittled me and made me feel bad for not having 3 hours to waste on my nails, I will not be coming back especially since this is now the second time you've treated me this way. Take this into consideration before coming here. They care more about filling chairs than their service. There were 5 customers and 3 nail technicians. read more

I was able to edit my original post from my first visit thankfully. My first visit two years ago was good as to be expected with a grand opening. I recently returned with a gift certificate from my husband. The work done looked beautiful but took way too long, almost two hours. I had to return due to peeling of the dipping gel polish and my pedicure was changing color as well. They were very kind to fix my manicure with some filing and top coat polish. I didn't bother with the pedicure fix. I was unable to return immediately with traveling and my busy work schedule. I scheduled another appointment for a manicure and pedicure but, when I called to reschedule I was only rescheduled for a pedicure. I thought I was waiting for the manicure and was told that I only scheduled a pedicure. Not sure if I was rescheduling why only for a pedicure and not both?The miscommunication of the rescheduled appointment and an argumentative owner and employee saying that I only scheduled a pedicure which was untrue has lead me to no longer return. I didn't appreciate the embarrassment of the disagreement in front of customers. I felt it was so unprofessional. I kindly let them know of the miscommunication and was not expecting to have such an argument at a place you're "supposed to relax and enjoy," why call it Corner Joy? Unfortunately, this small business is too busy for their own good and doesn't value all of their customers like they used to. I do not recommend. read more

I went here for the first time for mani /pedi. My pedi was ok but the manicure was terrible. I think the lady that served me, gave me her first manicure ever. I was relaxing and wasn't watching her. My finger cuticles we're cut so badly, they were sore for 3 weeks, I had to use neosporine. She cut the nails on each side at cuticles omg!! Just a warning!!! Stay away from that place read more

Had a chance to stop by Corner Joy Nails for the first time today, I am very impressed. The place was very clean, the service was great. They had a great variety of colors to choose from. Consistent service no matter who has done my mani and pedis. Friendly staff, clean and a vast array of products to choose from whether you want a basic polish or highly detailed processes- they nail art they do ( my daughter is a regular and gets this done- me, I just do gel) . Highly recommended and there are 4 salons within a mile of this one , all good, but CornJoy has become my go to. read more

My Dad took me to Corner Joy Nails today. I got a mani pedi for my 10th birthday. Christine did an amazing job! She even stayed an hour after closing time to make sure my nails were perfect. This is one of the best nail salons I've found yet so far. Finding a good nail salon is hard now a days. But then there's finding a good salon that has an amazing design artist. That's something that seems almost impossible to find sometimes. Look no further! Corner Joy checks off all the boxes. All the Staff is incredibly sweet and they offer you tea, snacks, and an amazing color selection the moment you walk through the doors. If you want a stunning design I recommend Christine. She uses tiny paintbrushes to make the most beautiful dainty designs. I definitely give this place 10/10 and would recommend this to my best friends and family! My mom and I enjoyed getting our nails done at Corner Joy last week. I had visited this store before and both my experiences have been fabulous! This is easily the most friendly and welcoming nail salon I have been to. We walked in without an appointment at a busy hour, but Natalie graciously placed us in massage chairs and gave us water while we waited. I had Helen for my pedicure and Natalie for my manicure. Both women took their time to clean, massage and paint my nails. I could see they really care about their customers and their salon experience. They also have a wide variety of colors and offer different services like gel, dip powder and nail art. This is my go-to spot in Long Beach! read more

I work around the area and have been looking for a spot to get my nails done, I think I found the right spot they just opened up and are hidden right in the corner of the mini shopping center, the ladies and owner were very nice they brought a water bottle to me while I waited and still offered more drinks they actually took their time to do my nails.. this place isn't like the others I have been too where the ladies just gossip while your in their shop, here they actually take care of business I would highly recommend this spot staff is very nice and friendly the place is welcoming I'm for sure going back and by the way they will have specials every month wish this business the best of luck I'm highly satisfied read more

In 2001, I was start a career in Nail on all weekends, and particularly interested in this field because of high demand, flexible working hours, and outstanding income potential. With the work experiences I had been worked for other nail salons, and see how nail salons were run. Now, I feel comfortable in the nail trade and can start looking into opening my own business. We invite you and friends to join us, in our brand new Corner Joy Nails & Spa. Grand Opening is on September 28, 2017. For just visiting Corner Joy Nails & Spa you get free Slip Slop Sandal, Drink, and Plus enjoy a 25% discount on all services until March 31, 2018.

I am currently as a full-time Associate Civil Engineer since 2008. In 2001, I was start a career in Nail on all weekends, and particularly interested in this field because of high demand, flexible working hours, and outstanding income potential. With the work experiences I had been worked for other nail salons, and see how nail salons were run. Now I feel comfortable in the nail trade and can start looking into opening my own business. As a brand new business, my primary focus is to help clients stay clean and safe while giving spa manicures and pedicures. My goal is to provide creativity as well as professional services to our clients. My custom furniture and custom pedicure chairs are able to satisfy each time you're visited. Goal, when the door opens for business, stand proud and persevere. Owning own business is tough, and I may not succeed, but I stand a chance if I work hard and make my customers happy. The location is so super convenient by CSULB campus, which is a major plus for us students! Not only is the location amazing, but the service, prices, nail techs, and atmosphere is all AWESOME. The business constantly is offering monthly deals, and a student discount if there is not a current deal. Which, when it comes to nails and beauty services, we know a good deal can be super helpful! They have my business, and I don't even get my nails done all that often, but now that Natalie got me hooked, I definitely will make it a point to go back.
