I love this place! It is honestly my second home they treat me so great! I love to get my nails done here! Also love it because it's so close to home! The vibe is relaxing and the customer service is amazing!

I went to this nail salon for a while and may be back if I don't have my daughter with me. They generally do a nice job on their gel pedicures. They have a nice menu of variations of offerings for the treatment/experience ranging from bare bones to the deluxe menu. I don't have a set nail tech and they all do a nice job. The reason for 1 less star is that they literally roast you for picking colors they don't personally like and try to convince you not to get them LOL On a more serious note, and the reason I decided to take a break from coming here is that they pushed and pushed and pushed to do gel on my 8 year old's nails. I said several times that she's too young and I don't want her to have it. After so much pushback, they ended up doing it anyway on two fingers of each hand where she had designs done, and told me after they did it that it was easier to do the designs that way. I made it more than clear that I did not want this for the safety of my child's nails. I felt that was pretty disrespectful.

I go here regularly, and I love the little family vibe of this place. The staff is nice and they always do a great job.

I made an appointment at this place because my regular place wasn't available. My appointment was set for 5 PM. They sat me down in a pedicure chair for 45 minutes before they started any service on me. The pedicure was great. The manicure was not great. The technician cut 2 of my cuticles and laughed about it. My thumb nail is filed crooked. The tech doing my hands was unsteady. I would have much rather been moved to one of the tables for the manicure. Don't think I'll be back to this place.

I just left Corner Joy. First impressions? Very clean, peaceful, and friendly environment. Lihn did my pedicure. I've never had someone more thorough do my nails. She carefully cut the cuticle at every step, went above and beyond, and was so friendly. Everyone there was nice! The owner really takes his time to get to know everyone. The nice lady sitting next to me had very specific requests and she herself said she "was a pain", but they handled her with care and respect and she felt heard. I know that this is how every establishment should handle business, but unfortunately, we don't get that treatment so often. I'm going to return and request Lihn, but I saw that the other ladies were also doing a great job!

Just had the most relaxing time at Corner Joy. Had Helen on my mani and Linda (could be wrong about her name) on my pedi. Both ladies were such a joy (no pun intended). We just chatted it up the whole time! Helen has impressively good English, and Linda was just super nice the whole time. Happy with the 5 minute massage at the end, and happy with the way my nails came out :)

Very happy to have found this salon. They're very sweet, the chairs and bowls are nice and clean, and they have an amazing array of colors. I've been 5 times and have had different techs and each one has been a great experience.

I do not like to leave negative reviews. I really want to be able to say I had a good experience. The two staff who did my hands and feet were nice enough. They didn't try to upsell me - which is a big pet peeve for me. I can't, however, recommend using them. While my pedicure turned out fine, the manicure is terrible. I asked for a pink and white gel manicure. I blame myself for not scrutinizing my nails more closely while I was in the salon. Everything looked fine when I left. Later, I happened to look down at my hand and could see that the sides were a mess. Almost every nail is not properly finished. You can see from the pictures how poorly they were done. I only added a couple of pictures and each is a different finger, but they are all the same. I find it hard to believe that a professional would be proud of this work and allow their client to leave the salon like this. It's too bad because I would likely have returned otherwise.

I really wanted to like this place and for the most part, I did. I had Helen and she was so friendly! She painted a little too far down from the cuticle for my liking and I definitely waited too long to tell her, but instead of just painting a little more to the cuticle and leaving some space, she painted all the way to the skin. Maybe I miscommunicated, but now my 34 dollar manicure looks pretty awful. I might give this place another try because they were all so friendly and welcoming.

Walked in around 2:30 on Thursday afternoon to get a pedicure and a full set. I didn't catch the name of the girl who did my pedicure but Natalie removed my old set of acrylics and did a beautiful ombré over a new full set. The simple pedicure cost $18 and the ombré acrylics cost $50. I will be back for a fill in a few weeks! read more

Corner Joy Nails & Spa is the BEST! I went in for the first time in October (shortly after they first opened). I am not normally a person who has my nails done consistently . I had a wedding to go to and they are located close to my home. They were busy & squeezed me in. They were so accommodating and so friendly! My nails are super thin & I teach PE so I didn't want them too long. I was concerned that they wouldn't look good short, but Christine assured me they would look great. And sure enough I've gotten tons of compliments & I've been back 4 times already (even took my 84 yr old Mom-who loved ALL the girls, as I do)! Recommended HIGHLY!! SO COOL. If your girl wants to get her nails done, you can also head to their awesome barber while you wait. It's a connected building! Barber took his time and made sure every detail was important. My girl always gets her nails done here so it's a win win. She looks beautiful with her nails and I get my fresh fade ;) super nice people as well. SUPPORT THEM read more

It was my first time going there , the lady that did my nail did a good job but she took over an over for a full set so I guess they close at 7 so she kind of rushed me to leave after my nails but it wasn't fully dry yet so when I start driving and got into the car most of my nails become messed up because my nail wasn't even dry yet . It's unfortunate that I came here to get a pedi and fill for my birthday. I was excited to come here after reading good reviews about it but was left frustrated with the service. Helen, who did my pedicure was sweet and did an amazing job. On the other hand, I had two ladies who worked on my fill. The first lady was not gentle with the machines and hurt my cuticle area in at least three of my fingers. She also shaved down one of my nails way too much and did so before asking me my length preference. She did not check to make sure if all of my nail lengths were even so I kindly let her know that I was unhappy with the extremely short nail and asked if she could do anything about it. She said she couldn't really do anything about the length!! I kept looking at my nails and had to be persistent in telling her I wanted to get it fixed. At that point, she left to work on another client and reassured me that another staff member will work on the problem. In doing so, the second lady filed my finger too low as well and cut me... great. I understand sometimes it happens but it seems that the workers here just want to get the work over with. After applying the acrylic to the one finger, the second lady left me to wax another client's eyebrows!! I was in disbelief at how inattentive these ladies were being in making me wait. Acrylic does not need 15 minutes to dry. I spent at least more than half an hour than what it should have taken. Given the staff remained friendly, my nails were sloppy. I spent 3 hours there just for a pedi and fill and left with acrylic under my nails, bubbles on 5 of my nails, and uneven coats. Horrible experience considering I was late to an appointment AND I wanted them to be special for my birthday. read more

Love this salon. Everyone is so nice and friendly and they do a great job. It gets very busy so I advise making an appointment. We had 9:30am appts on a Friday and by 10:45 the place was full!! But they didn't try to rush through us just to get to the walk ins which was nice. Always offer water and snacks too. Relaxing music and massage chairs while you get pedicure too. read more

I live all the way in La Verne but saw someone's nails that they had done here. So I went for the drive on a nice day. I had my nails done by Natalie. She did a fantastic job! LOVE this place!!! I have never had "MY" nail spot and this is for sure my place now. I came for the first time for my wedding after being recommended to go here from a good friend. Everyone was so beyond nice, and their customer service is above excellent. They make sure you are comfortable and treat you to bomb snack and beverages as well. Their work is so good, they take their time and you can tell they care. Christine knew it was for my wedding and she made sure to do her best work and she had since then taken such good care of me. I love Christine and she is who i will continue to go to moving forward. read more

This place is seriously the best! My nails have never looked so beautiful before Hunter was very kind talking with me and making sure that I was liking how my nails looked. Natalie did an amazing job at creating the style of nails and look that I wanted. I am so happy with how they came out! They both worked on the details to bring out the best look. This salon is new, CLEAN and Pretty. I love the way it is set up, and how clean it is. Everything is new and up to date, including beautiful color selections. I got a gel manicure and while the paint job was done well, the tech was pretty rough with my cuticles and cut me multiple times, cutting cuticles I didn't know existed and probably didn't need to be dug up from inside my skin... Other than that, they gave free water, snacks and offered free sandals to pedicure clients. I'll likely go there again! read more

It was my first time at this hidden gem yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised!! I've been to nail salons all over looking for one that I really like, and this one so far could be my new favorite! The pricing is fair and the ladies are all incredibly nice. My nail technician, Christine, was super pleasant to work with and was very detail oriented. She checked with me throughout each step to make sure the nails were to my liking. I'm very particular with shape and she did a great job! They weren't too thick either. I got a full acrylic set, coffin shape with chrome powder. Altogether it was $45, and with a 10% $40.50 for excellent work and a great technician! I've paid $70 for chrome nails that weren't well done. No regrets here, will come back for a fill to see if the good experience repeats itself! My only complaint would be that my right hand has a bit thicker shape than the left, but I didn't notice this until afterwards. Still good! read more

I found this place on yelp. I came in wanting to try gel builders. Christine recommended something better than that called polygel. Its It's more stronger and durable than gel builders. And I love the way they turned out. I got the color 596 oak buff with a gold foil design. I really like them and will go back to them for a second try. read more

I can't contain my excitement that this nail place is in my neighborhood. Got my nails done today there for the first time & I had the best experience. Helen did my pedicure and Cindy did my fill. I have to say that I am extremely picky with how my nails look, I have been to so many nail salons in Long Beach; I've driven clear across town to many holes in the wall looking for places that do great nails. This is the absolute best that I've found. The place itself is cute, cozy, extremely clean, nice tv's, an amazing selection of polish colors. Everything about their process of doing nails is very clean. The place is new so all the equipment and everything seems new. Everyone working is very nice. My pedicure is great, Helen gave an awesome leg massage. Cindy was meticulous with my nails, spent a lot of time fixing the bad job I got at another salon. Everything she did was precise and my nails have awesome shape. I went today on a Saturday afternoon and it was relaxed, not too crazy busy. They opened about 3months ago and I know that this place is going to get super busy once people discover this hidden gem. This is my place now, I will not go anywhere else! read more

Christine was so lovely! Very sweet and did a wonderful job! She went above and beyond to make sure my Fench dip-powder nails were done perfectly. She gave me a tip for my broken nail and did them all in this beautiful subtle clear sparkle. Then I think she used gel for the tip which I love because it looks cleaner than trying to use powder for that part. My eyebrow wax is also superb. Looking forward to coming here again! All the ladies working here were very kind, friendly, and happy! read more

Came here Sunday January 21, 2018 at 1:40pm and didn't finish and leave till 4:50pm. It took forever to get my pedicure and manicure done. ORDERED: - pedicure with regular polish - manicure, add tips, powder, matte black nails with black glossy tip. We added 2 silver stripes to my nails instead of all of them like I wanted. Even those my lady was very nice she told she couldn't do any design or anyone there after we already moved to the design table to finish up my nails. I was a bit disappointed. She should've told me this before we started. PROS: - very nice staff - offer water or hot green tea - lots of colors to choose from - get 9% off bill. Not 10% like Yelp says. It's 9% - pedicure was wonderful CONS: - can't do designs here - poor color choices for gold - no strips for designs - takes pretty long - water for foot tub was cold - they kept the front door swung open and it was freezing inside. I was cold the entire time I was there. I wouldn't go back just because of the discomfort of temperature I endured for 3 hours - 8 of 10 of my nails weren't smooth and flat. They were bumpy/lumpy, especially the transition from my nail to tip. read more

They are clean and very nice but the nail tech doesn't even do a decent job. They do well with pedicures but not nails. I went to get my nails done because my nail tech closed due to newsome orders and I needed someone to fix my nails since they were broken and I tried removing them without luck. I found this place and I regret coming. The job was fast but the nails turned out ugly and very bumpy after they cured. For 60 dollars and a bad job I'm not coming back in 3 weeks I'll go look for someone else that will do the job better. The nails. I really just wanted gel nails because my nails were to thin and I didn't want to deal with artificial but she talked to fast and was pushy. I agreed to acrylic ombre since she kept suggesting it. I wanted square round and she kept cutting the side of my nail and I showed her a picture and she STILL didn't listen... I should of gone with plain... I asked for ombre and the green on top and well the gel once cured made my nails very BLOTCHY. They were not smooth whatsoever and it got on my nerves since I've gone to 2 nail techs and none of them EVER left my nails NOT smooth. Currently I'm trying to make them smooth and fixing them myself but I would not come back here to do my nails EVER. My nail tech charges me 33 and does a better job than this nail tech. Never coming back to get my nails done here that's for sure. read more

Went 3 days ago for a walk in full set with my sister and I'm still obsessed with my nails. I can't stop looking at them! We didn't have to wait long before we were seated and they asked if we wanted something to drink while we looked at the colors. I forgot to get the name of the lady who did my nails but she seemed very skilled compared to other nail salons I've been to. She really took her time and paid attention to detail. She checked and double checked my nail shape and cuticles before deciding to move on to painting. Definitely going back bc even though it's 20 mins from where I live, it's worth it. read more

So glad I gave this place a chance. It was better than what I had expected. I had previously gotten a full set french ombré at another salon and they charged me $80. I got a full set french ombré plus a pedicure and with the 25% discount they were offering, I only paid $51. Their customer service was everything! They offer you a variety of drinks and snacks while you're getting pampered. What really stood out was that they give you actual flip flops for you to keep with your pedicure instead of those paper ones that tear so easily. Thank you Christine for your beautiful work and Lauren for the lovely pedicure. The ladies really take their time and are very gentle. I love their very wide selection of colors. Wow this place was just amazing! Today I decided I want to treat my daughters(age 4 & 8) and myself a Pedicure so called them hoping they can fit us in... After we spoke we showed up and the place looked pretty busy but my 4 year old and I were able to sit down at the pedicure station and my 8 year old decided she would rather get manicure done so she sat across from us... Since it was their first time ever basically I just asked them for the basic pedicure/manicure but my 4 year old got the little foot bath/trim/massage and she looked very happy and satisfied! They even had ipad for kids to use while they are getting their nails done! She even got little flowers painted on her big toes and she was soooo excited! My 8 year old got her sparkly nails and enjoyed her massage as well! I will be returning soon to get a longer mani-pedi spa experience but even with kids I was able to enjoy a relaxing time today! Everyone was soooo nice and the 3 ladies that worked on my kids' nails were just wonderful! I recommend bringing your kids here! read more

I went in to get a simple manicure and get my gel nails removed. They did a good job with the nail shape and manicure but actual nail polish was a 0/5 stars. The manicurists were very friendly which is why I give them 2 stars but do not go in for a manicure. After only a day (not even a full 24 hours) the color started cracking. I wanted to like this place so bad! But I have to say I'm never going back. read more

I've been struggling with finding a great nail place in LB and I really hope this isn't a one hit wonder! Corner Joy is incredibly clean, so welcoming, and they've got a ton of color options. More importantly, however, my nails turned out great AND the staff are so nice! Even fun! Absolutely no complaints here. They're new and I would definitely suggest giving them a shot. read more

In 2001, I was start a career in Nail on all weekends, and particularly interested in this field because of high demand, flexible working hours, and outstanding income potential. With the work experiences I had been worked for other nail salons, and see how nail salons were run. Now, I feel comfortable in the nail trade and can start looking into opening my own business. I am currently as a full-time Associate Civil Engineer since 2008. In 2001, I was start a career in Nail on all weekends, and particularly interested in this field because of high demand, flexible working hours, and outstanding income potential. With the work experiences I had been worked for other nail salons, and see how nail salons were run. Now I feel comfortable in the nail trade and can start looking into opening my own business. As a brand new business, my primary focus is to help clients stay clean and safe while giving spa manicures and pedicures. My goal is to provide creativity as well as professional services to our clients. My custom furniture and custom pedicure chairs are able to satisfy each time you're visited. Goal, when the door opens for business, stand proud and persevere. Owning own business is tough, and I may not succeed, but I stand a chance if I work hard and make my customers happy. This is my hair after two sessions and she's done a great job delivering on Grey blending. She found an ashy beige that would work with blending in with my silvers. She really understands color. Right on the dot, my specialist Tracy greeted me with such a calm and happy demeanor. She led me up the stairs to the treatment area above the salon and was completely mind blown as to how much of a transformation from the downstairs to the upstairs was. Tracy led me right to this cute little sitting area where she prepped the foot soak and then checked to make sure the water was the appropriate temperature and then asked if I would like some water or tea to drink. I opted for the tea while I was resting she had me preview some essential oils for use for the facial massage... and the rest is history... because after that... I was completely in la la land. The location is so super convenient by CSULB campus, which is a major plus for us students! Not only is the location amazing, but the service, prices, nail techs, and atmosphere is all AWESOME.
