We came here on a Saturday upon the recommendation of a local patron. We weren't disappointed. The simple BBQ shack offers walk up ordering and calls out you number when the order is ready. They serve traditional Virginia pulled pork BBQ and BBQ ribs, along with chicken wings, hot dogs and an assortment of traditional sides. We opted for BBP pulled pork sandwich combos, which came with fries and a drink. The sauce is provided on the side, in case you are not a fan of the vinegar-based sauce. While I don't mind the vinegar sauce, I must say that the pulled pork was plenty flavorful and juicy just by itself. It was some of the finest pulled pork I have ever tasted. The portions on the bun were enormous, and the portion of fries was very generous. Seating is outside, with some shade trees providing respite in the heat of the summer. My friend and I stopped at Corner Market BBQ on our drive from North Carolina to DC. Not too far off of the interstate, this was a great opportunity to get some local grub, stretch our legs, and take in some fresh air. The atmosphere around the dining area is a interesting blend of beautiful hardscapes and Cracker Barrel kitsch. I think they could remove the kitsch and just let the nice space speak for itself. The ordering process was easy and we took a seat and waited for our number to be called. We each got a hot dog with chili and mustard, mac and cheese, and fries. We enjoyed the hot dogs. Nothing amazing stood about like a toasted bun or especially tasty chili but still good. Everything else kinda dragged down the rating. The Mac and Cheese was really boring. One spoonful each and we looked at each other and just laughed. My friend said it was like watered-down Stouffer's. The fries weren't seasoned when they got to us. We had a few and then, because we were sitting outside, they were cold. I'd give Corner Market BBQ another shot but I explore other places in the area next time I'm passing through. read more

We've passed by this place for years saying we'd stop one day...well..today was the day! Everything we ordered was AWESOME! I had the BBQ sandwich combo...best BBQ I've had hands down. The sandwich was big with a generous portion of pulled pork and filling. My hubby got 10 wings with their homemade sauce along with corn poppers. They were hot and cooked perfectly. I got fries with my combo but I also ordered a small Mac & cheese because I was hungry and it sounded good, it was definitely homemade and maybe could have used a bit more seasoning but it was still delicious to me. The pulled pork was quite good and I was given a generous portion. The BBQ was a vinegar based sauce which tasted great, but personally I prefer a thicker sauce. Slaw was quite sweet, pretty much sweet cabbage(still tasted good). The fritter was fried good, but didn't really taste like much in the inside. Drink was included in this combo meal. I was driving by right at the right time of the day for lunch and when I say this is the best bbq in central Va, I'm not saying it lightly, I've got Kansas City roots. For such a little place they pack a heck of a punch. They have ribs, BBQ, wings, collards greens, beans....so much. I got the BBQ sandwich with coleslaw. It was super good! But it still needed a small thing of vinegar they gave me and of course some hot sauce. Now I'll say I'm a lover of NC BBQ so I'm a little bias. The baked beans and collards were homemade and were good too. Again, collards were good buuuut needed vinegar. Wings were the freag'n awesome!!!! Tasted like they were cooked in fatback. This has to be one of the best restaurants on 460! I discovered it at the beginning of the summer when my son had a baseball game nearby. It has become our official stop for lunch on trips to Virginia Tech. The atmosphere is perfection - a quaint brick building nestled in the trees behind a farmer's market. I practically stumbled upon it the first time. Prices are great and the food is really good! I love that all the tables are in the shade of the trees or under umbrellas. The BBQ platter is hands down the best meal they offer. The serving of pulled pork is HUGE, paired with coleslaw and fritters, though they have been out of fritters both times I have visited. I got a side of baked beans instead and combined the 3 to make a BBQ sundae, my favorite bbq meal. My boys got the Dinwiddie Dog meal, two locally made hot dogs with chili. While delicious, my teenagers were still hungry after they ate. They offer a mustard bbq sauce, which surprisingly they were out of, and a vinegar sauce. The only reason I did not give this place 5 stars is because service is very slow. Of course, help is hard to come by these days so I always try to give restaurants some grace. Love, love, love this spot and can't say enough good things about it. The BBQ platter is the best! You have to visit on a weekend though because they are only open Friday through Sunday. read more
