I look forward to eating here when I want to treat myself. I like the barbecue and they also have fried okra. For the barbecue, they've got a few different sauces depending on what style you like but just having a plane is plenty good for me. I've also had their ribs before and I definitely take my time with those. Very good ribs. The wait staff are always friendly and attentive. I've been going here since about 2016 which was before they remodeled. Was very excited when they opened back up a few years ago. If you've got people visiting from out of town, especially north of the Mason-Dixon line, definitely take them here for some good Virginia barbecue. read more

Stopped by and were seated right away for our party of three. I ordered the BBQ nachos, which is one of my go-to orders at pretty much anywhere. I would say that it was good but not great. The pork was good, but it just wasn't as grand and exciting and packed full of good stuff like some other places have in a very similar price range. Should have stuck with my other go-to, a pulled pork sandwich. I'll be by to try it again before I make a final decision. Ordered hubs a takeaway wrap, with bbq and Mac n cheese, and he said it was okay. Good but not great. We will give it another try before making up our minds, but currently it is good, but it won't be my favorite restaurant. My family and I have been a customer at Sibley's for several years and their food has always been exceptional. We had a delivery order recently, which had an issue as something we ordered was not delivered. When I called to correct the problem, the manager only offered for us to pick it up or get a credit on a future visit. As my wife and I live with elderly parents, we were unable to leave the house and the manager refused. At this point, I thought I would not come back to Sibley's. That changed when Brittney got involved. Not only did she personally deliver the item, she compensated us for our trouble. I randomly found Sibley's BBQ on Google Maps while working in the area. When I walked in, it gave classic hole-in-the-wall vibes: low-key setup, lots of older white folks inside. I'm not gonna lie, my first thought was, this food might be bland. But the Google reviews were strong, so I stayed. I almost took it to go, but the menu had so many specials that needed two hands and a fork. That told me they were not playing. So I sat down. I went with the brisket tacos because I love tacos and never had them with brisket before. It took me about 15 minutes to order (yes, I'm that person), but the staff was super friendly and patient the whole time. That alone had me feeling good about the spot. Now when the food came out... I was nervous. The tacos did not look good at first glance. There was a corn topping situation going on that I did not expect. I usually don't play with textures or stuff I didn't ask for. But I told myself: Taste it first. Then complain if needed. Y'all. That bite shut me up. These tacos were fire. One of the best out-of-the-box taco combos I've had. The corn topping with the brisket? Unexpectedly perfect. The flavors actually hit. Sibley's caught me off guard in the best way. Great service, better food, and a menu I now want to work my way through. I HAVE to come back. I eat a lot of BBQ. Sibley's is very good for restaurant 'que. My lunch today was very good! The pork was a generous sandwich with moist meat and just a hint of smoke. The sweet potato was a bit limp, obviously having sat for a while in foil or a steam tray or reheated in a micro (but hey, it's not like any restaurant is going to bake potatoes to order!) And the collards were sweet and cooked perfectly. There are three sauces on the table, a sweet sauce, a chipotle spicy sauce, and a North Carolina vinegar sauce. I have always said good barbecue does not need added sauce, and I think this pork would have stood on its own. But I did try the spicy sauce on the sandwich and the NC vinegar sauce on the greens. Both were good additions and gave the appropriate flavor without drowning out the meat or souring the greens. Service was exceptionally attentive and helpful. Having stopped here before, I knew to order as a take out the freshly fired pork rinds. These things are absolutely killer good, and so fresh you can here them continue to "pop" all the way home. Is Sibley's as good as my backyard smoked pork? No. But I think it is among the best restaurant offerings in the area. If only Chester was not 30 miles away. read more

We had the brisket and corned beef sandwich which both tasted great! We also had the mashed potatoes, mac n cheese and potato salad... all of which were amazing! The bbq has always been great but the Cole slaw clearly isn't made in house it's very bland seriously bland the meatloaf could use some sort of change as well . The choice of sauces are phenomenal here don't change them. The servers could tighten up a little with keeping the drinks full has been an issue the past 3 or 4 visits . I use to live about five minutes from this restaurant. The staff was always very friendly and the place was clean. The place had a bit of an old time vibe from the historical pictures of Chester on the walls. It is a very family friendly and comfortable place for eat. I frequented this restaurant on a regular basis when I was living in Chester because I was at Fort Lee - now called Fort Gregg-Adams. One of my favorite food has always been pulled pork sandwiches. I was always very happy to chow down in one of their pulled pork sandwiches - they always hit the spot. I also loved their Baby Back ribs - always tasty and so easy to make disappear. I never left the restaurant feeling hungry- just very satisfied with my meal. If you in the area, and you like pork BBQ, you should love it at Sibleys. read more

This food was underwhelming sad. It lacked true bbq taste and flavor. Nothing was exceptional everything was blah. I was disappointed in the chicken it had no char and tasted more like under flavored baked chicken. The bbq ribs were not grilled not a single grill mark, and needed heavy bbq sauce to taste edible. The brisket was the saddest. It had no presentation and was just slapped in the box, it looked like they chopped it up for me vs giving me slices. But to make it worst I had a gentle man who took my to go order but the young lady with blond hair gave me attitude while I waited for my food. Even at one point asked me "what are you waiting for" while rolling her eyes. I will not say it was a race thing but I noticed as soon as I walked in that the restaurant catered to older individuals and lacked diversity.Yeah if you are into good bbq you should take the 100 dollars and invest in a smoker and do it yourself. There are other places that sell true bbq but if you truly need something quick mission bbq is a better buy.This was not worth the buy and i hope they change the cook and some of the staff soon. read more

My family and I ordered takeout, I ordered BBQ sandwich and they toasted my bread without me requesting it. My 1st thought, well was the bread stale, that pissed me off. Then they didn't include any napkins whatsoever. We ordered deserts also blackberry cobbler, and to top it off didn't include any forks or spoons to eat the cobbler. Mighty sad day in America that workers don't take the time to include necessary items with your meal, what im supposed to eat it with my fingers? Overall the my BBQ sandwich didn't taste bad, but the bread was hard as a brick. The food is good. You know how you are craving something and you finally give in and get it. Well how does it feel when you get home and the order is wrong? CRUD! That's happened twice recently. This comes with Three sides and hush puppies. They have club sandwiches as well as other sandwiches besides the bar b que sandwiches. They also have chicken livers, which I had today. My husband loves the chicken gizzards or the club sandwich , my son loves their chicken tenders platter and l love their Bar-B-Q. We've never been disappointed . We stopped in here for lunch during the noon hour and the place was busy and the service was quick. The food was good although I found the side order of fries a little skimpy. What did shock me was how quickly the waitress cleared our table and then she asked us to leave since we were finished our food, even though we were still finishing our drinks. "We need this table" is what we were told. We got up and went to pay our check, noticing that there was no one waiting for a seat. I realize that restaurants now have limited capacity due to the pandemic and if we see a line of people waiting,, we don't need to be told that we should finish up and go. Maybe these people should post a sign saying "Eat and Get The Hell Out." Needless to say, we didn't leave a tip and we won't be back. You owe me for a half a glass of tea. read more

This place hosts country cooking all the way around ... collards , chicken livers , country fried steak , Mac n cheese , Brisket , Ribs and many other country fixin's . Recently the restaurant was renovated due to a kitchen fire . The new look was greatly needed . The food here is very consistent . We've never had anything bad . It's always good and fresh. I will say that the service can be somewhat like molasses. Slow and steady . They seem to be on country time . I find myself trying to locate my waitress for something every time I eat here. Oh my goodness.... I finally made it to Sibley's Bar-B-Que and I'm sorry it took me this long to get here. The food is amazing! I couldn't get enough of the fresh homemade coleslaw, it was absolutely delicious. The ribs we cooked to perfection! They offer 3 types of barbecue sauce on the table so I tried all three of course separately and it made the ribs taste even better but I the Carolina sauce was my favorite! The customer service is the best! I felt like I was family. The ambiance is quaint I loved it! The waitress told me they offer their best deals on Tuesday night which includes 1/4 rack of ribs another meat, 2 sides, hush puppies and a drink for $9.99! This will be one of my go to spots moving forward! Please give this place a try if you're a barbecue lover! read more

Siblys is still one of our favorite restaurants. Their ribs are to die for. They literally fell off the bone. Their pulled pork bbq is wonderful also. The pulled pork makes the best sandwiches. I still have to mix some ketchup to the bbq sauce. I can't eat anything spicy or hot. It really hurts my mouth, and I usually keep stock, the only sauce I can eat at home. I can eat Sweet Baby Ray's ORIGINAL only. My daughter bought me several quarts of Dreamland bbq sauce. Come to find out, the recipe has been changed. Of course, it's HOT. The only thing i could do was to add enough ketchup to take most of the heat out. Sibleys offers 3 different kinds of sauce. All of them have a bite of heat. Up here in Chester VA, the main bbq sauce that is offered is a vinegar and mustard base that neither of us likes. I'm willing to try again. I'm sure Their side dishes are great as well. I just wish they would add fried green tomatoes to their menu and maybe a couple of other options that aren't fried. If you don't believe me, SIBLEYS will NOT disappoint. It's delicious !!! Food was excellent as was our waitress/server. My complaint, one employees was not wearing a mask. A female employee never had a mask on the whole time we dined in. She was right at the front near the register where everyone would pass by coming in and going out. If an employee can't wear a mask, stay home. The rules/laws/guidelines are for EVERYONE. It would have been a 5 had everyone followed the rules. Food and service were 5 stars. read more

Sibleys bbq is some of the best around. Prices are great, sauces very tasty, service is good, & prices are fair. The only disappointment is in their pork rines that they make right there. Someone does not know what they're doing in making them because half or more of them are rock hard. You could break a tooth on them if not careful. read more

Passing through, not local. We ordered the 3-meat meal of rotisserie BBQ chicken, pulled pork, and pulled chicken. The rotisserie chicken was good. The pulled chicken had an off-taste flavor and did not taste fresh. The pulled pork was definitely not fresh, having a strong refrigerator flavor, that I could not hide with the tasty Virginia Sweet sauce. The reheat process had hardened several of the larger pieces of pork. The baked beans were only sweetened pork-and-beans. The slaw was fresh and tasty.
