I came off a hike above Nyack and happened past "Corner of Ukraine". I really did not know what to expect since I had never had Ukrainian food. It was spectacular. Every dish was loaded with flavor and extremely unique. The staff was very attentive and helpful. It is a good size restaurant and very open inside.

I haven't had a lot of Ukranian food in my life, so when we happened to be in town, we decided to order a few items to go. The inside of the restaurant is so cute. It's got these warm and cozy vibes. I originally wanted the cabbage rolls but they ran out (it was a Sunday at around 2 PM) so I ordered the Ukranian Varenyky (dumplings with farmer cheese, potato, and dill), and some kind of a beef stew. The dumplings were very good. All the ingredients tasted fresh. The beef in the stew was super dry and chewy. Maybe I didn't order the right entrée but the waitress did recommend this dish after I learned the cabbage rolls were out. Even so, I'd still come back to try some other dishes if I'm ever in this neighborhood again.

Everything was phenomenal! The food was delicious and high-quality. Definitely authentic. The service was very good and the ambience reflected Ukrainian music with Ukrainian embellishments all over the restaurant. Quite a drive from where I live, but certainly would be worth it.

Run - don't walk - to the Corner of Ukraine! I've heard so many good things about this restaurant from foodie friends already so was excited to finally go, and was pleased that it's as incredible as everyone says. We had: - Classic BORSCHT, a nostalgic favorite, and this is done very well - CHICKEN LIVER MOUSSE - yum, very shareable, and the beet purée is amazing! - CHICKEN KYIV - also excellent, with great mashed potatoes - DUCK BREAST - so tender, and love the brown butter mash! - HUNGRY DAD (smoked sausage stewed with sauerkraut cabbage) - the flavor is excellent, mellow, not overly pickled or harsh as many sauerkraut dishes can be. I was impressed that every dish has a distinct flavor. All were delicious, consummately prepared, and elegantly presented. A favorite meal in recent memory. The food is generously portioned and well priced. The entrees came out one after another instead of all together but we didn't mind as we were tasting everything family style. The kitchen even personally brought out some of our dishes - compliments to the chef! What do I recommend? EVERYTHING! The service was great, despite it being an unusually busy weekday night. There's a steady stream of customers and you can see why! The restaurant is cutely adorned with traditional ethnic decorations on the wall. The tables are spaciously laid out, including some long tables for groups. Oh, and no credit card fee like so many restaurants in NY/NJ these days. A pet peeve of mine so an extra hurrah!

After a big afternoon of hiking, we hit Nyack in search of a fun meal, and ended up experiencing a truly wonderful Ukrainian dinner at Corner of Ukraine, beginning with a plate of forshmak (herring, green apple, eggs, homemade aioli, red onion) and a nice Ukrainian doppelbock. Next, a refreshing bowl of okroshka (cucumber, potato, radish, scallion, eggs, parsley, dill, mustard and airan), varenyky with sauerkraut and mushrooms, and holubcy (cabbage leaves stuffed with ground pork, carrot, onion and rice baked in tomato sauce and served with wild mushroom sauce). Everything was fresh and delicious. Slava Ukraini!!!

Cute place in Nyack. I like that's it's different - they fully embraced the Ukrainian culture on the food options, language, decorations and dress. It's not something that you see every day so that was nice to experience. There was also seating outside that looked pleasant. I liked the healthy garden salad. My dad ordered soup and potatoes with mushrooms that were also good. I got duck. The sides of the duck were great - very interesting combination of textures and flavors. The duck itself was practically raw. I personally didn't like that at all and couldn't eat it. I asked them to cook it more and they did - boiled, I think, which was better but still not how I would normally eat it. My mom ordered the salmon and had a similar experience. The sides were great but protein was cooked in an unusual way that didn't work for her. When I expressed it to them, they actually tried their best to change the cooking which I appreciated Overall, the place is nice and service was good. I probably won't go there again because the food was a bit too different for my taste (some of it) and the other things were what I would already cook at home. I do find the place and concept unique and refreshing for the area just not in a way that works for me.

Pretty good! Not oh my gosh get me back here good, but a really solid borscht, homemade garlic bread, and cheese and potato varenyky. The portions are generous and the outdoor seating is adorable! With very comfy egg-shaped cushioned chairs. The inside is very sweetly themed, borderline kitschy. I probably wouldn't come back because there's so many great spots in Nyack, but if you're craving this food, get it and you'll enjoy!

One of the best restaurant meals I've had in a long time. Portions are beyond generous, fresh ingredients, not expensive at all. We the lunch special with borscht and mushroom soups, and holuptsi, and shared vareniki. It was all outstanding , the kind of meal where you feel grateful when you pay the bill. Not expensive either

Located on the busy main Street of Nyack New York... And yet we haven't been to this place until today! We randomly came across it on Yelp and obviously saw awesome reviews, so we had to check it out ourselves. I'm going to be honest here, we have never had Ukrainian food before so we really didn't know what to expect. It's certainly a modest establishment with beautiful Ukrainian art and decor-- even hand-painted art on the walls! The place got busier within an hour. Our waitress was sweet and helpful with recommendations. We ordered a large spread as usual and we have no regrets! First we started with the horod cucumber salad with olive oil which was amazingly fresh and simple... It had a Mediterranean feel with the salt and olive oil but the pickled red onions, dill, and the freshly sliced radishes brought it up a few notches. As you can see, we completely devoured it. The next starter was the mushroom soup. You must get this!!! It's light and smooth but not overly creamy, with just the right amount of mushroom. I've never had anything like this before and I'm craving more of it as I'm typing this. The fried potato pierogies are generously filled with potato and topped with green onions, paired with a light sour cream dip. It's fried, yes, but it's so light that you don't feel like you're having a cheat day. Next was the kielbasa-- at first we didn't want to order it because the pictures showed how big it is. But in the end, we ended up eating 3/4 of it because that's how good it was-- incredibly juicy, spiced just right, and a thin skin with a light crisp. We couldn't decide which dip was the best. I actually found that the beet dip was the best because of that salty/ sweet combo. But my sister loved the homemade horseradish dip which is strong enough to clear anyone's sinuses! The kyiv cutlet was incredibly moist with a light breadcrumb crust. We liked it a lot but we loved it even more because of the sauces it came with... I'm not sure what they're called but it's the beautiful magenta and orange colors on the plate that really brought out the flavors in the chicken. Last, but not least, the dessert... We were extremely full by the end of the meal but we really wanted to try a new dessert. It was delicious of course. Not too sweet and unlike any other cream cheese dessert we've had. The cheese in this was light as yogurt with the texture of feta cheese and the flavor of cream cheese. And this cheese combined with cherry "jam" and condensed milk coated each roll of pastry on this plate. For those of you who don't like desserts to be overly sweet and find that most cream cheese desserts are a bit too heavy, please try this dish. All in all, we will definitely be coming back here! And I intend to learn more about those sauces!

Fried Varennyky (potato filled) - it was 5 per order but they gave us 6!

YUM! This was such a fun place. They really do their best to make it as authentic as possible from the decor to the clothes and music. The food did not disappoint. The Varennyky (perogies) were crispy and not too heavy, beef stroganoff had such a good flavor. The cutlet was very filled for my partner - also don't sleep on the carrots on that dish!! My only regret is not having room for dessert. I will say the one waitress wasn't the friendliest but that wont prevent me from going back.

    Varenyki with Mushrooms and Cabbage.

One of the best Ukrainian restaurants in New York State! Traditional Ukrainian dishes are prepared with love, creativity, and an unexpected twist--like the Black Chebureki (meat pies). The Monastyrska Hata (Monastery Hut) layered cake with sour black cherries is an absolute must-try. And there's so much more to come back for! As a Ukrainian who loves to cook and explore new recipes, I can confidently say that the menu is rich, and the food is outstanding. The atmosphere alone deserves a separate review. The beautifully decorated space features a collection of rushnyky--Ukraine's famous embroidered decorative towels, each symbolizing different regions of the country. Highly recommended!

Well, Soup Maison and Latin Kitchen makes soup an everyday food! There's always the favorite tomato bisque or tomato tortellini soup but with a rotating menu of different soups and other dishes plus a deli and empanadas, you really can't go wrong and it can be different every time you go. My new favorite is the tomato tortellini soup paired with one of their empanadas. I'm a fan of their beef empanada but their buffalo chicken empanada was a great balance of a savory chicken with just the right amount of heat. Try it with the green sauce, it's not for everyone's taste but it's a great mix. The fact that they have many soup options (with samples, if you wish) you can pair it with something or just go for a large and have it all to yourself makes it a place to mix and match on every visit. It's a comfy place, but there's not that much room to dine in, but there's a small table- but I don't mind running back home, get comfy and enjoy the food. Service has always been friendly- don't hesitate to ask for a taste, but let them do it- it's not self serve.

This Asian fusion spot in a nondescript plaza has a large menu with a lot of small plates/street food, baos (with varying fillings), tacos/quesadillas/tostadas, curry, traditional Asian dishes, poutine, burgers, noodles like pad thai and plenty of veg-friendly items. We most enjoyed the chicken empanadas (generous filling, good flavor), cod tacos, and vegetarian spring rolls. The tofu lettuce wrap didn't have a strong flavor even though it seemed to have a lot of sauce. The beef Jerky (a bit tough and chewy) and vegetarian dumplings were okay, but not favorite items. We didn't order any items that were larger portion and it's very easy to rack up the bill with $9-12 small bites. Inside, you could forget that you're in suburbia because this place is pretty trendy.
