I know I just found my little favorite gem of Fair Lawn especially if it's one of those cold winter or fall days when all you really want is a nice bowl of soup. Well, Soup Maison and Latin Kitchen makes soup an everyday food! There's always the favorite tomato bisque or tomato tortellini soup but with a rotating menu of different soups and other dishes plus a deli and empanadas, you really can't go wrong and it can be different every time you go. My new favorite is the tomato tortellini soup paired with one of their empanadas. I'm a fan of their beef empanada but their buffalo chicken empanada was a great balance of a savory chicken with just the right amount of heat. Try it with the green sauce, it's not for everyone's taste but it's a great mix. The fact that they have many soup options (with samples, if you wish) you can pair it with something or just go for a large and have it all to yourself makes it a place to mix and match on every visit. It's a comfy place, but there's not that much room to dine in, but there's a small table- but I don't mind running back home, get comfy and enjoy the food. Service has always been friendly- don't hesitate to ask for a taste, but let them do it- it's not self serve. read more

I ordered delivery through Door Dash, and my order was packed nearly- no spills. I had the chicken noodle soup, and it wasn't salty, which I appreciated. I first will say I love its location. And the variety of foods they offer is really nice. Soup is good, sandwiches are good too... but the real winner is any of the Mexican or Latin food. Wow! The tomato bisque with tortellini is one of the best soups I've ever had in my life. So tasty. Sandwiches are great quality and well made. Standard deli style sandwiches. Burritos are really good too. Fresh ingredients. Chicken cooked perfectly. Working my way through the full menu. I usually drop in and pick up a couple quarts of soup and they stay fresh for the week. Online ordering is also super easy. Quick pick up. Finally, the people who work here are wonderful. I was in the mood for Mexican, so I ordered lunch here. I ordered the shrimp tacos online for pick up. When I arrived I parked in the plaza lot. I walked in and was greeted. I was offered some lemonade, which was nice. The food was ready and I left. When I dug in, the tacos were pretty good! I just wish they had flour tortillas because the corn ones break easy. Note: A good 90% of these reviews are posted on the other review site and the owner is much more active there. I only added it here so more people could find out. You can also call them if you want a specific soup and they'll most likely be able to make it also which is very nice. Anyway, I have been here a few times. The groceries here are primarily Polish though there's also some other goods (primary European outside of their drinks.) There's not many options for a light healthy lunch/dinner in these parts and this feels most welcome. The salads are large with a great mix of toppings though one of the pieces of chicken had some cartilage. Both of the soups I have had have been good, their Forest mushroom bisque and a soup with Kielbasa. I had their burgundy beef once which was good also. A bit small of a portion but the flavor was quite nice. This is a new place with a very nice owner. I'll probably move this down to a 4 eventually but for now, they are new so a bit of slack can be given. read more

Decided to give soup maison another shot since theyre under new management. Their sign does not lie stating come meet the friendly staff. Didnt catch his name, but the gentleman greeted me immediately and told me the soups of the day. Everything sounded and smelled amazing but I went with the chicken and corn soup. Definitely a big difference from panera and diner type soups. Lots of flavor and the right blend of spices, meats and corn. Be careful on the sizes, as they have changed since the old management. A large is now a quart size when it used to be pint size. Was caught off guard but I still downed all the soup. They also have small to go meals along with snacks, drinks and deli salads. Its hard to find a good soup place nowadays but soup maison comes up clutch whether your under the weather or trying to warm up from the cold. Worth a visit read more

I tried two soups today, the Italian wedding and the potato bacon soup. The Italian wedding was great! Lots of flavor, and good texture, plus everything in it was a god ratio (plenty of little meatballs, pastini and the veggies). The Bacon Potato soup was good, but didn't have the great mix of flavors that the Italian wedding soup had. I'll definitely be back to try more! read more

This is a quiet unassuming spot. It's great for takeout and has delicious, hearty soups. They have a pretty good, well stocked selection. Their sandwiches are amazing and the prices are reasonable. The owner immediately greeted us and gave us a tour: he directed us to the 5 canisters of fresh soup (we chose the shrimp and cod chowder). He also pointed us to the freshly prepared heat-and-eat meals, which were sorted by meat, fish, and vegetarian options (we chose the braised lamb and gnocchi). We purchased some items from his selection of European canned and pickled goods as well. We were happy with all of our selections, and so were our kids. I would definitely recommend stopping by and perusing the offerings, which change seasonally I believe. Amazing! How did I not know about this place? I got buffalo chicken soup- you have to try it! I wasn't sure if I'd like it but wow it's amazing. Most of the soups taste good under the new owners. Problem is all three soup sizes seem to have gotten much smaller and they are very pricy for those sizes. Guys, this is still a working class town despite what some may think. You need to drop the price by $2 to $4 dollars for each size. read more

It was ok. I went specifically to try the lobster bisque and clam chowder which has good reviews on Yelp. I was a little disappointed. Lobster is one of my favorite foods but this soup was a little to thick/textured, and I did not enjoy it. The texture of this lobster bisque is comparable to apples is in a smoothie (almost grainy but grainy is not the right word). This is probably the first food that includes lobster in the title that I threw in the garbage after tasting it. The New England Clam chowder was a little bit salty but overall okay and edible. I went because I specifically wanted soup and this place seemed to be thee spot based on reviews. Doubtful to return. read more

Love this place everything is delicious and the owner is so nice. The BEST thing about this place is that over half the soups each time I've visited are vegetarian. And they are hearty like mushroom bisque, cheddar broccoli, lentil, creamy spinach etc. Usually soup places only offer vegetarians watery boring soups like tomato or mixed vegetable. Even we don't want those! So happy to be able to pick out of so many fresh creative options. read more

The soups are AMAZING and everyone is SO helpful with food allergy/ dietary restriction information. They're very careful about avoiding cross contamination. On turkey and rice days get there early because (to my dismay) that one goes FAST! Hands down my favorite though I haven't had any I didn't love. At the risk of them ever running out before I get there I have to say, they make one of the best seafood salads you will EVER eat. I can't get there during the week so I make my husband get them for me while they're regularly available for lent. Delicious and well priced, and lovely and well informed owners. So far I have only tried the potato salad and it is delicious and I am a potato snob who is very particular about her potato salad. The staff goes above and beyond to be friendly and accomodating. I wasn't feeling well today, so I asked my husband for soup and he mentioned that Soup Maison opened in Fair Lawn. He picked up the steak & beans and the turkey chili.
