On our way from Tennessee to Alabama, we followed Google Maps to a place with glowing reviews -- and since I had my heart set on chicken, I thought we struck gold. Well, surprise! No chicken. But hey, we were already there and hungry, so we went with the meat sampler and some sides. The ribs had a little more "campfire vibes" than expected, and the pulled pork must've been feeling a bit shy because it came out cold. Luckily, the brisket and sausage stepped up -- my husband gave them two thumbs up (and he's picky, so that's saying something). The beans were simple, nothing fancy, but they did the trick. Was it the five-star experience I dreamed of? Not quite. But sometimes the best memories come from the unexpected stops -- and at least we left with full bellies and a funny story! read more

Traveling through the area and came across the reviews for here. So glad we decided to try it. Brisket was so tender it fell apart. Ribs were fall off the bone tender and both had a good smoked crust on them. Chicken so good I didn't care it was dark meat and pulled pork wasn't dry and had great flavor. Hubby and I shared the meat platter and a side of mac n cheese. Mac n cheese was good as well but the meats are definitely the stars here. If ever in the area again we will definitely stop in again. On a note the sauces are a vinegar base which hubby isn't a fan of but in my opinion the white sauce on the chicken and the original on the park was stellar! Service was friendly and quick. This is a great locally owned BBQ. Pull pork and rib tips are my favorite meats on the menu. However everything is good here. The restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly and outside seating is available which is nice in a rural setting. read more

Run to this hole in the wall bbq place! Cute as a button and the food was stellar! 1.8 miles from I-65. Go. Just do it. I'm a mom, not single, who travels alone all over the country with her young kids and this was a fabulous pit stop. Brown bag specials - pork BBQ sandwiches were spot on. My favorite sauce was the Original, but they honestly didn't need sauce. Smoked well! The Mac and cheese was homemade. The baked beans were smoked to absolute perfection!!! Like... I need to grab a gallon of those to take home. Fun Coke/Soda/Pop selection. Grab the Nehi Peach or a Sundrop! Desert. As my kids said 'Chef's Kiss!' Owner's family was there and we had a nice conversation with him and seems like such a nice, local farm family who owns the place. Clean restrooms. Accepts cash and cards. Hours are Wednesday - Sunday 11AM-8PM as of the date we visited. 7/19/2023 We plan on making this a regularly visited restaurant. read more

This place is heaven in a cornfield! We stopped here for lunch while traveling. Beautiful drive just a few miles off the highway. My husband and I both got pulled pork, green beans and baked beans. The pork is good ya'll!!!! Now onto the sauces.... YUM!!! They had sweet, white, hot white and original pit sauce. I tried the hot white and the original pit sauce and could not get enough of them! They were not too spicy so it was perfect for me. I was happy to find out they sold the sauces so I ended up taking home a jar of each: white hot and original pit sauce. First , the quality of the BBQ at this site is great. I have no concerns related to the food. The issue is the operating hours of the Dellrose site. We called and ordered 2 lbs of brisket a week prior to driving to Dellrose. We were told it would be available on Sunday 7/16/23. To be certain, we called at 3 PM the day before to confirm the store would be open on 7/16 to eat there and pick up our order. We were assured that they would be open and our order would be available. We also left our number to let us know if they ran out of brisket so we would not make the drive to Dellrose. On 7/16, we drove 74 miles to meet family and pick up our order and eat lunch. Upon arriving at the store, a sign was posted that they had sold out and were closed. We were not given any notice that the store was closed. We called on the drive down and a message from the previous weekend was played. In the past, we have give positive reviews for Corner Pit. The food is good, but the owner needs to do a better job at communicating the status of the store being open or closed. A simple phone message or web post would have saved us a great amount of frustration and time wasted driving 1 hour and 20 mins one way. The owner can and should do better as a business operator. Our past experience with Corner Pit was positive (including having a wedding rehearsal dinner there in 2022) but is now tarnished after this experience. Sad that a great restaurant's service cannot live up to the quality of their food. read more

I love everything I've gotten at Corner Pit. The smoked wings are delicious, the pulled pork is moist and tender , and the ribs are really good. Brisket is not available everywhere, and theirs is quite tasty and tender. A big part of barbeque is the sauce. I LOVE the Original Corner Pit sauce! It's different from anywhere else. I live just down the road and frequent the place regularly. The atmosphere is relaxing and the people are friendly and top notch. Normally, I always have the pulled pork and brisket. However, I had been meaning to try their hamburgers. So this time I did just that, and it was the best burger I have had in ages. I had them add cheese, lettuce and tomato. When it came to the table, it looked like it had been made for an advertisement as it was crafted perfectly. Every component of the burger was very fresh and tasted excellent. Wow, what a find. We went for a relaxing drive through the hills of southern middle Tennessee and just happened upon this place. It's rustic, it's classic, and the Texas Style brisket was outstanding. Flavorful, not greasy, melts in your mouth. The original hot sauce was the perfect topper. Great service, great prices! My husband and I got and split a 1/4 1/4 plate and a half rack of ribs. The ribs were the BEST! I loved everything about them. The rub and the meat:fat ratio was great... Definitely didn't skimp on the portion. The potato salad was good! The pulled pork was very good as well, we weren't too fond of the beef brisket... Maybe it was a little overdone for our taste. If you're looking for some of the best BBQ in the south this is a place to check out. However in terms of professionalism, this place has come short. Throughout my entire meal I was forced to endure screaming/yelling children, with no hope of motherly intervention. One of the young women who worked there appeared to have brought all four of her daughters in today. On another note I received the tiniest side portion of baked beans imaginable. Hidden gem is probably the right term for this joint. We were traveling through on I-65 and I had a hankering for southern BBQ and found this place on Yelp. A total hole in the wall, but worth the extra mile or so off I-65 to get to. Anyplace with plastic picnic tables inside and rolls of paper towels on each table and serving the food on styrofoam plates is a place worth trying! Barely even a parking lot outside, but we went for the FOOD, not the niceties. I had a pulled pork plate, my wife had a half chicken, and our kids had brisket and pulled pork. Very nice portion sizes for around $6-7 a plate, and you get 2 sides with it. Soda (as I was told they call it down here) is extra. My pulled pork was a little on the dry side, but when I added their hot sauce, oh my goodness!! Wettened it up just right! Our whole family loved the hot sauce in fact. I think the owners entire family was there, working the register, kitchen, sitting around, feeding the baby, etc. A truly entertaining cultural experience for us city folk from up north. Worth every penny of the less than $40 it took to feed all 5 of us. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. read more

Stopped for lunch while traveling on I65. What a find! We arrived at 11:40A on a Sunday; the parking lot was full (good sign) and the after church crowd was filling in. The menu is handwritten on a white board & you order at the counter before making your way to a table. We had a brisket plate with chips & potato salad and a rib plate with baked beans & green beans...and sweet tea of course. The brisket was delicious, but the ribs were incredible. The ribs are a bit fatty which gives them amazing flavor, but if you don't like fatty pork I wouldn't recommend these ribs. The barbecue sauce was fantastic (I assume it's made in house) and the portions were generous, but not too much. We will definitely return...not only is this little gem only 5 minutes from I65, but it's quick & inexpensive. We had our food in less then 15 minutes and since we had already paid we were able to get up and leave as soon as we finished. read more

We found The Corner Pit several years ago when we moved to Huntsville. We eat there often and have had them cater several events. The pulled pork is smoky and almost melts in your mouth. The brisket is always delicious and a favorite of ours. The building itself clean and has a lot of character. The staff always makes you feel welcome, whether they know you or not. read more
